Dynamic Avatar Retrospective

For a brief period in 2005 (mostly just February of that year), the Young Writers Society had dynamic avatars. In fact, the points system was originally introduced for the purpose of the dynamic avatars.

The way it worked was that through reviewing, you could go ahead and improve your avatar by buying stuff through the points store. You started off with a plain person, and then you added shirts, pants, hats, glasses, hair, backgrounds, etc. to it. In some ways, it was pretty cool. But, it was also somewhat annoying. After a month, the dynamic avatars were cut.

So why do I bring this up? Today while browsing my computer, I discovered a treasure trove of everyone's dynamic avatar (everyone who was a member back then). So here are the dynamic avatars of people who are still around:

Meshugenah, Ego, and Matt Bellamy: I couldn't find the dynamic avatars for y'all. Sorry!

Snoink -- no pig? :O
There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people:
psychopaths and mystery writers.

I'm the kind that pays better.

WOW! So much of awesome!
I like bubble's tongue-sticking out.
And on Nate's, the spire thing looked like a mohawk at first.

Nate, you're bald and you have an antenna growing out of your head.

This post seems familiar... I thought you found them hidden away on some nook of YWS a few years back. Perhaps this is one of those topics that comes and goes in cycles.

EDIT: It was May '08!
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)

I love Ari's. And I don't think I ever had one, so that'd be why you couldn't find one for me.

I'm in agreement, although this makes me think about other cool ways we could spend points.
