We sit and talk about our lives, sometimes we wonder why we try.
You say you’ve reached your limit.
Well hon, I’ve reached mine too.
Just take a look at all the things that we have been though.
We’ve both shed our share of tears, and faced our darkest fears.
Take a look at all the stress… and you’ll see our lives are such a mess.
Bad turns to worse, and worse turns to pain.
Somehow, it’s always, always the same.
You sit and watch me cry; hear me say that I want to die.
You place a hand on my shoulder, and tell me I’ll be ok,
I look back at you and say: “I hurt so badly, I want it to end; I want peace, but get pain instead.”
I sit and wait for your reply and watch as a tear falls from your eyes.
“Life isn’t easy, but at least you’re not alone. Someone’s always there for you, you know.”
Life is short, so make the best of the time you have!

Aww, this poem makes me sad! It's so true too. I kind of wish at the end that he would promise to be there, but sometimes those sorts of people (lovers in general) aren't always there and they can drop off the map completely. Sad, but true. But there is someone with you, even when things get bad, you know?

I just wish that the "Someone" wasn't always vague because sometimes you can feel so alone and like nothing's going right and that it'll never be right and the promise that "someone" will be there for you is like a kick in the stomach because then you ask, "Well, who is that someone and if that someone is always there for you, where is he now?" And it can easily lead to bitterness and a sense of betrayal. It's kind of like what Jesus said, "Oh God, why have you forsaken me?"

But it'll be all right. We're all in this together, right? :D *snugs*

Very nice work. I like the truth of it. It really points out the difficulties and fears of most people. Life is too complicated for us to understand, and sadly no school teaches you how to live it. Someone being there with us slightly soothes the fear, but finding out who we are and how we fit in is a journey we need to take on our own.
The strong mind can confront lies and illusions without being lost. The strong heart can withstand the poison of hatred without being harmed.

This is really good. I like how I can relate to it and I understand where it comes from. How you can write such good work amazes me.:)
