Katniss has been cast!

It's official! Jennifer Lawrence has been cast to play Katniss in the upcoming Hunger Games movie. I don't know anything about her, which is good I suppose, since that means I won't have any previous associations with her. They're still deciding who should play Peeta and the others...I hope they don't choose Josh Hutcherson. Nothing against him, but he's just not how I pictured Peeta.

Thoughts?

I hadn't really been into the whole casting thing until I recently started watching Pretty Little Liars and heard that Troian Bellasario was interested in the part. I think she would have made a really good Katniss but at the same time, she's twenty-five and a little too old. But I'm sure Lawrence, once they've dyed her hair, will be good!

After seeing all the rumoured options for Katniss, I thought Jennifer Lawrence was my favourite. So I'm glad.

I think she'll do fantastic. My dad and I, who are both big fans of the series, are going to rent Winter's Bone to check out her acting.

I had heard Haleigh Steinfeld was being considered for the part; I really liked her in "True Grit" and thought she'd be good as Katniss. I've actually never heard of Jennifer Lawrence; I'll have to go look her up......

I didn't know that, but she would have been good! (Though, yeah, a little old). She looks a lot like I pictured Katniss.

Jennifer Lawrence will be great too. I've heard good things about her concerning her acting/ability to play the role.

Warrior- I thought Hailee would be good, but she seems just a *bit* too young. (She's 14, but just turned - about six months young then I am). Jennifer Lawrence got nominated for best actress last year and apparently the role was similar to what Katniss played, so I'm confident.

Troian looks okay, but not really how I imagined Katniss. I think Jen will be good once they do the obligatory (hair dye, contacts, etc) but for some reason I always imagined Katniss with really, really thick eyebrows...

I thought Hailee would have been good when it came to the action scenes, but I just couldn't picture the romance. Maybe she's just too typecast in my mind from True Grit. Jennifer looks more the part of Katniss, too.

Hot enough for me. XD

Now i'm just waiting on the movie. I'm hoping for a release date by summer 2012 anyone else think it will be done by then?
