Name: Hunter Williams

Age: 15

Gender: Guy

District: 9 (Hunting)

Appearance/Picture: He has dark-ish blonde hair, that is medium length and swept to the side. He has blue eyes that change color depending on the lighting he's in. He has pale skin, even though he spends most of his time outside. He is a little below average height, around 5' 6". He is pretty muscular, from lifting heavy animals.

History: He lives with his mother, since his father was killed in a hunting accident. He has one brother, who is 7, and they have a love-hate relationship, like brotherly love almost. His mother makes some money on the side, but he is the main source of income for his family. Strangely though, he never entered his name more than he needed to. He didn't want to risk coming into the Hunger Games, and dying, because then his family would have to fend for themselves.

Skills: He is great at camouflage, so he'll probably go for that stuff. He's good with a bow, but he probably won't get one. Obviously, he's good at hunting. He's pretty fast and limber as well.

Weaknesses: He's not very big, so a hand-to-hand fight is almost out of the question. He is used to warm weather, so the cold might slow him down a little bit. He's shy, and it will take a while before he trusts someone else with his life.

Personality: He's very shy and he likes to stay in the shadows. He's not very good at making friends, but he's very sneaky. He wouldn't kill another tribute unless it was for his life. He is a very honest person, and has good intentions. The only time he would ever lie was if it was the benefit of his family.

Up For Alliances?: Yes.

Your Symbol: A necklace he found out in the woods while hunting one day. He wore it when all the good things happened in his life (not many times) and he considers it his lucky necklace.

Ignore the dime, I'm not really sure why it's in the picture! xD

How much are you willing to post: Once every day or every other day.

(Really quick to see everyone post. O.O)

Gabriel Haughtings

He watched them all, gaging how each of them would fare in this cold weather - he wasn't used to the cold but he would endure. His feet pounded the ground as he raced by and grabbed one of the knives that lay on the ground - someone had dropped it. He longed for a bow and quiver but there wasn't time to be choosy. He grabbed the weapon and a stray backpack and began to lope steadily towards the northern area - or atleast what he hoped was north.

His eyes stung with the cold wind that whipped across the roads of the area. He wasn't familiar with this place - he had no idea where he was exactly but he knew he couldn't lose the fight in the Games yet. His heartbeat was painful in his chest, his lungs ached from the cold air but he kept on. It was all he could do right at the moment.

When he found an abandoned building he rushed inside, entering one of the many rooms and hunkering down to open the pack. Inside he found quite a few necessities but otherwise a few useless things as well.

Has one backpack, two pairs of thermal gloves, one dagger, a bottle of water, one thermal hat.
None dead.
To fly away on gossamer wings, sheer as night's reflective glow, I would could I cradle child hecate to my breast.

Yes! Starting! Anyway is the item list updated? I'm not sure, so tell me if I took an item already taken and I'll edit.

I stepped out of my tube thing, I'm not quite sure what you call it, expecting something warm and tropical. According to the charts they showed us last week in school, that should be what the Gamemakers pick next. Instead, a frosty wind whips at my face. I blink my eyes, seeing white, white, white. Snow. I wish I had more time to notice it, to touch it even, but the the sound rings as soon as the last thought leaves my head. Survival mode kicks in. Don't die, get items. I was strong enough to get to level six, I suppose. Right now it didn't matter. Run. Just run. I kick off, focousing my ears around me and my eyes in front of me. I hear the noises and cries around me, the pure sound of people dying. It wasn't as glorious as they made it out to be. My first instinct goes to work. Weapons. I need a weapon. My breath seems to be quickening already, but I sprint like my life depened on it. Which it does. There. A boomerang. Long distance, simple. I reach down and grab it, my hand barely grazing the ground. I keep on running. My eyes zone in on something on the ground, barely visible. A thin white jacket. In a world as white I would need something like that, warmth and camoflauge. I grab it, feeling it's cool cloth in my hands. I slow down just enough to notice what it had been hiding. A small bag of who knows what. A purpley, slurpey liquid. The thought hit me. Poison. Just my area of expertiese. I grab it, wasting time maybe. Yet I knew I would need it. I keep on running, wondering where I am in the small back of my head. Run. Just run. Live. I slow my steps, just a little, when I notice the items thinning out. I must be in Level 5. I made it. There's no one else here, but I know it can't last long. That's when I hear the swoop of feet. A boy bursts out from a bush, weaponless. He gives me a cocky grin. Like he'd planned this. Hiding out, way out here and killing all the Careers who made it this far. I'd seen that face in training. The boy from District 6. The one who was about to make the biggest mistake of his short life.

"Ah, a friendly face. Finally made it out here, eh Career?"

I nodd. What did this cocky kid have in store? The boy reaches down to grab a dagger. Crap! Then he whips it at me. Good. I dart to the side and grab my boomerang, flinging it at the kid. He ducks, coming back up and hitting me with yet another cocky grin. That's when my boomerang comes back and hits him in the back of his empty head. I reach up my head to grab it. Good ol' long distance fighting. The boy hits the ground with a thump. I stare at him for a second to long, wondering if I should go for the kill. Something in my sinking stomach was yelling no, but all my instincts said yes. I rub my head. This was a blood bath, no a debate! No, I needed to get going. Someone would be on my tail anytime now. I start into a sprint, almost forgetting to grab something from level 5. I made it this far, I needed something to show it. I grab a slepping bag and dagger and run as far away as I can. I stop only when I know I'm safe, admist the ruins of old buildings. I could barely see the areas anymore, but enough so no one from there could sneak up on me. Then I just sit there and rest.

District 6 boy knocked out. You may want to finish him or let him die of head wound. Level 2 boomerang, Level three Thin white jacket and poison, sleeping bag and dagger from level 5.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Standing on the plate underground, I was sweating. I loosened the jacket around my neck. I rose up into the arena, and knew why I was wearing such heavy clothing. The wind was whipping my hair in front of my face, and the snow was swirling around by my feet. I shivered, and felt the sweat slowly turn cold. I could practically hear the giant clock ticking, like a time bomb. And just like that, the sound of a gong filled my ears.

I was too distracted by my own thoughts, and I got a late start. At least I didn't have to worry about keeping up with the Careers.

I sprinted off my platform, easily blowing by other tributes. I grabbed inside my jacket, and raised my medal to my mouth. I kissed it and slipped it back in. I didn't want to stop at the first level, because most likely nothing there would help me. I knew I wouldn't make it to level 4, 5, or 6, so I locked my sights on level 3. I slipped and fell, sliding just short of 3. I stumbled to my feet, and noticed more tributes coming up quick.

I felt through the quickly piling snow to find supplies. My hand hit a small pouch of some sort, and I stashed it in my coat pocket, not knowing what it even was. I saw a roll of gauze, and decided that might be handy. The tributes were arriving, so I grabbed two more items: a gun of some sort, and a hat.

I held onto my supplies for my life and ran with no destination. I glanced around to get a feel of my surroundings. I saw a park, but I saw some tributes running there, some big buildings, a market of sorts, and just through some apartment buildings I saw a glimpse of some water. It must be the ocean. I don't know what I hoped to accomplish to going to the ocean, but it was better than nothing. I started to run as fast as I've ever ran, which is pretty fast.

I slipped on some more ice and hit my knee pretty hard, but I kept running anyway. Once I got there, I wasn't sure what the water was. It looked like a river, but I could just barely smell some salt too. I didn't know what it was, but I didn't really care. I saw a nearby boat house and headed for that.

I settled down inside the boat house, and started shivering. There was no temperature change from outside, but at least it offered shelter against the wind and snow. I took a look at what I had picked up.

Has Level 3 hand warmers, level 3 thermal hat, level 3 dart gun, and level 3 bandages. In a boat house by Broadway on the map.

(Update on posting, my Tuesday posts are probably going to a bit shorter than my usual ones. Sorry, I have two after-school clubs in a row.)
Holly

I woke to something warm, wet and snuffly on my hair. My instincts told me to jump to my feet, but I froze when my eyes happpened across a beast I'd only ever seen in schoolbooks. A wolf. There were three of them. One was the nose on my hair that sent my breathing into panicked pants. One was gnawing on my mangled tweezers/minus sign, and one was pacing nervously.

I tried very hard to be still and stone-like, but my heart was pounding a fast, unstoppable beat. The wolf at my hair, began to chew it, and my nerves couldn't take anymore.

Screaming, I jumped to my feet, taking the wolves by surprise, and scrambled to my feet. The beasts tried to give chase as I sprinted out, but soon gave up. I'd never been a good runner, but it's amazing how fast you can go when fear gives you wings. Only when I reached the Cornucopia did I stop, and only when I reached the Cornucopia did I notice the warm blood seeping out of my leg.

Just outside the Cornucopia, but out of sight of anyone still there. Minor injury on right thigh. Nobody dead.
I've learned so much from people who never existed - Unknown

It felt as though he'd only been asleep for a couple of minutes but judging by the sun in the sky outside the window it was probably six o'clock. Though, he thought, I could be wrong.

Gabriel hoisted the backpack up over his shoulder and peered outside of the room he was in, the hallway was deserted and immediately he knew he had to get going.

One pair of thermal gloves on, and the clothing he had worn into the Games was all he had. He had left nothing behind, but he didn't need the hat right this moment.

He jogged out of the building, the shock of cold wind made him stumble but he righted himself and pushed on. He couldn't die only a few hours into the game, that would make him a disgrace. When he finally spotted someone he ducked into a deserted alley - he could only hope that this person needed an alliance and not another kill to add to it's list.

He shouldered the bag, waiting for whomever it was to either see him or walk by him.

I froze. Noises rose up through the frost-shackled building and whispered in my ear, suggesting that someone else had entered my haven. Was it another Tribute? Or some hideous creature conceived by the twisted minds of the Capitol. I got up and dried the frozen tears from my face. I grabbed my steel pipe and peered outside. A girl was walking in circles around my building. Crap I thought to myself. She knows I'm in here She had brown hair, and brown eyes that had luckily not found mine. Instead she was merely walking in circles around my building. How odd. I decided that I had no way of killing her from up here, and was about to turn around when I noticed she was carrying batteries. And a small electronic heater. Blueprints of the vehicles and weapons I could create with just a spark of electricity raced through my mind. I needed that heater. But there was only one way to get it...

I decided to try and act fast, I wouldn't have time to make anything complicated, but maybe a simple invention could at least distract her long enough for me to grab her precious cargo. I looked around for anything that might be useful, and decided to check the other rooms as well. This proved to be one of the best decision I had ever made, for in the second room was a single aerosol can and a telephone cable. My hand were half-way done with them by the time my brain had registered what I was doing. I had used my pocket knife to whit the cable down to it's plastic outer coating, and had used the rope from before to attach the wires inside the cable to the aerosol can. All it needed was some friction to set the wires alight and then boom.

I used the plastic covering to draw the triggered aerosol can across my steel-pipe to create a sort-of sling. My weapon ready I hurried down the icy stairs to the bottom floor and pressed up against the wall. For a second all I could hear was the faint beating of my heart and the foggy cloud of breath that rose in a silver cloud. Then the crunch of snow under foot was heard, and I sprung into action, opening the door and aiming towards the approaching figure.

Out-side an apartment complex on East Drive, has a Bazooka (aerosol can, steel pipe, thin robe, cable), Backpack, (with scarves, band-aids and gloves), pocket knife, 20oz. Jug of Water

As my platform was raised I braced myself for the cold I knew was coming. We had been given warm, insulated clothes, logically for a cold enviroment. It came as no surprise when cold, biting wind ripped at my flesh.

I looked around, memorizing my surroundings int he minute I had. There was the Cornucopia with supplies stretching out in front of it, as per usual. I had to admit, I was scared. scared to death.Oh yeah, great times for jokes. Get your head in the game, Aspen. They're all just trees, just cut them down and go home, that's all there is to it. I tried to believe myself, but it's hard when your "trees" are people.

I tried telling myself that I wasn't really in the Games. This wasn't some strange, crumbling city, it was the woods back home. I got my head back in the gamesReally? more jokes brain? try focusing! and looked around trying to figure out the best plan.

A glint of metal caught my eye. Out in the middle of the field of snow there was an axe. My weapon. If I could get to that, I had a chance of winning. Sure, to the other tributes I looked weak- a girl from an unimportant district without the typical bulk of someone who works in the woods-but I was strong. Years in the woods cutting down trees had given me strong arms and legs. Chopping in the winter with barely a coat on gave me some immunity to the cold of this place. With the axe, I would stand a chance.

The gong rang and I ran forward without thinking. I wasn't the fastest, but I was up there. I grabbed stuff as I ran by it, stuffing it down my shirt. I reached for a backpack when I was near my axe and slung i over my shoulder, not wasting the time to check it now. Others had stopped to fight or were racing past me to the best supplies at the cornucopia. I raced forward, the cold air burning my throat and the snow that had found it's way down my shirt melting slowly. It was uncomfortable, but that's the games.

As I neared my axe, I head a pursuer. Someone was following me, and they probably didn't want an alliance. I ran faster, chest heaving until I felt the thick handle of the axe in my hand. I swung up and around to kill my follower, but they saw my weapon and scampered away. Good thing, I didn't want blood on my hands this early in the games.

I ran off the field and away from the mess. My mentor had told me to get a few supplies and go far away, but I had a better plan. My mentor had won the games without any allies, but he was one of the few. I was strong, but i'd need teammates. I had made a plan to wait near the cornucopia until someone strong who looked like they needed an ally came by. I had found my spot, now I just had to wait.

Has colored yarn, Axe, Water jug 20 oz. full, backpack with gloves, scarf, and band aids. Is hiding near the cornucopia watching Ara and Kyran

Ramie

She lay facedown in the snowdrift until her shivering go the best of her. She pulled on the hat, then her hood over it. She looked to the sky, unable to find the sun among the skyscrapers. it must be setting soon. It would be best to make shelter and wait out the night before exploring the city.

She looked down at her imprint in the snow, thinking. Snow would probably be a good insulator. lined with her half-sleeping-bag, a snow-cave would be a camouflaged, safe place for the night. She began digging, thankful for the woolen gloves. It didn't need to be big, just big enough to fit her sleeping bag and her.

In the end, she ended up overestimating the size, and the cavern was roomy, but nice. She shivered, shrinking inside it. At least she had the bottom half of the sleeping bag. She curled into a fetal position around her backpack inside the bag, trying to doze off.

Eventually she had to have fallen asleep, because she was woken by someone falling into her cave on top of her. She thrashed, managing to land a good kick on whoever's head, gaining a swear from them as they thrashed back.

"Watch it- hey!" The impostor pushed away from Ramie, trying to see her through the darkness. Ramie took her in, as well. It was the girl from district 5, and she had a bow and backpack, but the bow was pinned between her and the wall of Ramie's ice-cave. Ramie knew she had to do something before the other girl could get it loose.

"Truce?" She said, stupidly.

The other girl stopped to think about it. "What?"

"Truce." She said, again. Ramie extended one arm in a compromising position, but one that might gain trust from the other girl. "In this weather, even an alliance of two will have a great chance of surviving a few more days than anyone caught alone."

The girl hesitated, but took Ramie's hand. "Okay, deal. I'm Clea. Clea Little."

"Ramie."

Gabriel

The crunching footsteps passed by and he ran back down fifth avenue towards the cornucopia, someone was bound to be there. He knew that he would need an aaliance if he were to survive the Games long enough to prove that he wasn't just some weakling, and his secretive ways would be sure not to tip off the other when he was prepared to lose the stitch in his side and add one to his kill list.

His footsteps were light across the snow, not much noise was made. He passed another few abandoned buildings but he didn't have time to snoop around. He spotted the sixth level, a bow and arrows lay half hidden among the snow and he swallowed - he desperately needed that bow.

It took him a split second to make the decision, and he turned back to one of the abandoned buildings and stashed his backpack there. Not before taking the white thermal hat and gloves out to put them on. He looked around but there wasn't anyone he could see, and he hoped they weren't just well camouflaged.

Gabriel's eyes narrowed as he stared at the bow and quiver of arrows, he looked up at the sky and prayed to his mother that he make it to them before being killed.

He took a deep breath, looked at the loot that he hoped to gain and broke into a run. His thin form sliced through the onslaught of icy wind and he was only two feet from the items when he heard a shout from behind him.

He didn't slow, he lunged forward and grabbed the bow in his hands and an arrow. He notched the arrow and spun around, holding the arrow at the ready as he looked towards the cornucopia where the shout had come from.

He kept a steady hand, not ready to lower the bow just yet.

One bow and one quiver of twelve arrows - level six.

Erin

Erin's hear froze when she heard the cannon shot. She didn't know if this signified the first death in the games; probably not. But this was the first one that she was fully aware of, because she caught sight of his mangled body just before the hovercrafts came to take him away. Although she didn't talk to him much, she saw him around school and town, and they might have had a class together when they were very young. Her district partner. Jayden was his name, she thought. She'd barely paid him any mind on the train and during training, but the sight of him dead was too much for her to bear, and in the little glimpse she had of him, she felt like she was looking upon someone that she had known all of her life.

Instantly Erin's hand tensed around her dagger, and she felt killing anyone that got in her way. As she ran through the levels and closer to the Cornucopia, she picked up a sleeping bag, a knife that looked quite large, and a backpack, not stopping to check the contents. When she was inches from the Cornucopia, she saw someone dive for an item lying in the snow. Erin, not thinking about anything else but her anger, tackled the boy to the ground and plunged the dagger into his heart. He was dead within the minute. When he was, and the cannon sounded, she realized that he was from District 5. She looked into his eyes. He was young, maybe thirteen. And instantly Erin felt guilty, but she didn't let it last long. After all, one less person to face in the end, right?

Erin stuffed the items that she had gotten into her backpack but put her hat on her head. She took a drink of her water before she would move again. After all, she was at the Cornucopia. Here, the real fun would begin.

District 5 boy dead. At the Cornucopia. Has collected a sleeping bag, big knife and backpack with flashlights, iodine tablets, extra batteries and hooks.

Ara Ordoe

Despite her enraged yelling after him, Kyran kept running toward the cornucopia. He grabbed at stuff at the ground, dodging other tributes as they tried to attack him and remove him from the game. Ara did her best to fight them back, giving the scrawny boy from 6 a swift kick in the chest. He tumbled backwards and didn't get up. Ara hoped she hadn't kicked him hard enough to kill him, if that was even possible.

At last Ara got close enough to Kyran to grab him. She threw her free arm around his shoulders and dragged him, kicking and screaming, away from the mess of tributes - living and dead - that still remained around the cornucopia. "Don't you remember anything I told you this morning?!" she shouted in Kyran's ear as she pulled him into the trees surrounding the clearing in which the cornucopia sat.

"I could have made it to the good stuff!" Kyran shouted, still struggling to break away from Ara's grip. She was stronger though. She had a few more years of hard labor under her, and it showed. Even if she was a girl, she was one of the stronger ones.

Ara let him go, but stood firmly between him and the direction back to the cornucopia. "You're never going to make it back to your girl if you insist on acting so impulsive," she said. "We have a plan, remember? Wait until dark, and we'll sneak back to see what we can--"

A branch cracked somewhere behind them, causing Ara to spin around, brandishing the tiny pocket knife she had managed to get from level one. "Who's there?"

In the trees around the cornucopia clearing with Kyran. Aspen is who they hear in the woods. Amf, feel free to say Kyran grabbed anything you want. Sorry I pulled you out of there, in case you had a plan.

Gabriel Haughtings

His arms ached from holding up the bow, keeping it aimed straight at the cornucopia and his eyes were squinting against the flurry of snow that blew in his face.

Then he saw it, the small dark shape that whirled through the darkness, and he lunged to the side but not before getting hit in the shoulder. He gasped in pain, collapsing to the ground and glancing at his shoulder. "Damnit." he snarled as he reached up to touch the dagger embedded in his shoulder.

He knew he would have to pull it free but there wasn't time to do that at the moment. He looked up and spotted another boy running through the shin deep snow. Gabriel looked down at the blood soaked snow and cursed before getting to his feet.

He raised his hands before looking down, the bow lay half covered in snow. Gabriel realized he didn't have time to bend down and retrieve it so he grabbed the dagger in the waist of his pants and stood at the ready, his right arm working fine but the left hung at his side, he couldn't afford to move it.

When the boy got closer he glanced at the dagger in Gabriel's shoulder, and pointed. "That's gotta hurt some," he said with a contented smirk.

Gabriel's grip tightened on the dagger's hilt, "You've got some good aim." he commented,

The boy smiled, "District twelve, right?"

Gabriel nodded, gritting his teeth. "You're district ten."

Another smile and a nod, "Yeap. Too bad I gotta kill you - coulda had some sort of alliance." the boy shrugged appologetically.

He licked his lips, "It's alright." and he hefted the dagger before throwing it at the boy's chest - right at his heart.

The boy's eyes went wide as the dagger embedded itself in his flesh and punctured his heart before he tumbled backwards in the snow. His staring eyes looked up into the sky with a look of hopelessness as Gabriel leaned over him. He shook his head as the canon went off before grabbing the dagger - shoving it into the waist of his pants and jogging over to pick up the bow and quiver.

His left shoulder ached painfully and he knew he needed some sort of medical attention before his wound was infected and before he could wrap it up he'd need to pull out the dagger.

He hefted the quiver and bow, slinging them across his back and jogged through central park towards the zoo. It was where he'd have to bunker down and work on his newly achieved wound.

Hopefully, he prayed, I won't have to kill anyone else or be killed myself.

- Achieved one dagger. District ten boy killed. On his way to Central Zoo.

Alrighty time to start the fun : ) This is the real reason I make these storybooks. O.K. so, so far I am not exactly sure what times you are in. Some people just got past the cornucopia and some people have already slept, but I think it is save to say that at ten in the morning of the second day a bunch of butterflies will fly over everything.

Much like these two images:

Except these butterflies look like this:
Spoiler
Image

and are about as big as the palm of your hand.

They aren't harmless like monarchs. If they land on you instantly black lacing will spread out from where their wings beat against you that look like bruises. These 'bruises' stay about the size of the palm of your hand, but the butterflies have a habit of landing taking off and landing again. These bruises are actually the butterflies blood going into you so they die after landing two or three times. The bad part is that their blood is poisonous. The poison starts to eat away at your skin. It takes a long time to eat through muscle and it doesn't eat through fat our bone, but eats up skin within hours. That means you will have circles holes in your skin that are raw and infected. Is there a cure? Thankfully as the poison works it itches so your character just might rub it on the easiest thing on hand: snow. This is good because cold slows the poison down a ton. The only cure is the juice in evergreen needles. These trees are all over the park where you started and there should be some every once and a while in the city. So good luck.

Just general things to remember: If you sweat in the cold when your sweat cools it drops your temperature about ten degrees. So if your character sweats you should have them get cold after they stop exercising. It is best if they dry themselves off as well so they aren't damp and cold.

Your water unless close to your body is bound to freeze in the containers and when water freezes it expands. Staying still for too long without shelter will be bad for your characters.

Thanks,

A. S/
