Name: Gabriel Haughtings

Age: 18

Gender: Male

District: 12

Appearance/Picture: He has black hair that hangs in his eyes, which are an electric blue. His skin is tan, unusual for someone who's usually digging for coal in the mines. He is lean and muscular, his features are angular and harsh. His hands are covered in scars, and a scar crosses from temple to cheekbone on his face. He can normally be found wearing wife-beater shirts and jeans.

History: Gabriel was the only one in his family, thus meaning he had to put his name up everytime to enable him to feed his mother who was old and frail. He grew up in a tough life, every year his name was entered. Every year his mother grew weaker and when the time came that he was forced to work in the mines due to lack of population he was always away from his mother. Whenever he could, he found a way to buy food but it was useless. His mother died the next year when he grew to the age of sixteen. He worked for himself and the lucky year, when he turned eighteen, was when he was chosen at the reaping. He now knows that he does this in order to make his mother proud.

Skills: He is exceptionally skilled with the bow having hunted for his mother when money and food in the town grew sparce, his knifing skills are also honed considering he was in many fights with the others who wanted to steal his game. The spear is another of his skills, used when poaching fish from the pond on the other side of the fence when he would sneak out to catch food for his mother.

Weaknesses: His weaknesses are heights - he has a fear of heights ever since he wounded himself falling down a shaft in the mines. He also has a fear of snakes - having been bitten by one at a young age he was held in a woman's house for a month while she treated the poison.

Personality: His personality is fierce and rugged, he is secretive and wary; used to sneaking around considering he had to steal to feed his mother but he also had to hunt for her in the forest - his silent footsteps were useful when hunting small game. He doesn't trust easily, his first instinct is to react rather than listen.

Up For Alliances?: Yes.

How much are you willing to post: 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest : I'd say that I'm willing to post 9 . Mainly because I've got nothing else to do - unless you count school after march break. So, that would mean that I could post after three o'clock.

Other: .... Not sure what to write here ..

(I should have thought about those things when I wrote this .. and I'm alright. I've read the books. XD)

WrittenInStone - Your profile looks pretty good, but I have a few questions.

Skills: He is exceptionally skilled with the bow, the knife and the spear. He is agile and forceful when need be.

Why is he good at these things? Does he practice for the games? Did he sometimes hunt to feed his family even though there was the danger of being caught?

Weaknesses: His weaknesses are heights - he has a fear of heights ever since he wounded himself falling down a shaft in the mines.

I would like you to give one or two more weaknesses.

Personality: His personality is fierce and rugged, he is quick to make friends but just as easily ready to turn on them and stab them with his weapons. He doesn't trust easily, his first instinct is to react rather than listen.

The parts in bold kind of contradict one another. People who don't trust easily don't usually make friends quickly. People are usually put off in someone is unwilling to give personal information. They are also put off if someone is wary. Being wary and secretive are what people who don't trust easily do.

If you have any questions because you haven't read the book (or any other reason) just P.M. me.

Thankyou for joining,

A. S.

We are starting.

I have updated the list. On my first post you will always be able to see it. You will also be able to see my explanation but here it is anyway:

Number one will die first number two will die second and so on. I will always be updating this list depending on how much people are posting. People in bold you can kill without asking anyone. People in blue are frozen. This just means that the person is gone. For example if someone went on a vacation you could look at the list and know they wouldn't be posting any time soon. If you don't like your place and you think your character shouldn't be able to last that long you can P.M. me. If you have two characters and would like them to swap places you can also P.M. me.

O.K, so in your first post you will start out looking into the arena right before the games start. When the force field around you raises you will run forward to all the things in the cornucopia.

When the force fields raise it is exactly noon. The sun is high in the sky, but because it is so cold the sun is going to set at 5:00 every day so you will only have five hours of daylight. All day it is going to be very windy, and cold. It will be about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. When the sun sets though it will drop down to about 0 degrees Fahrenheit though.

Remember at the end of each post in bold state who you have killed (if you have) and what supplies you have besides the outfit you come in, in. Also remember that though you can kill people you don’t have to. You might want to save computer characters so you can kill them later.

Let the games begin!

Thank you,

A. S.

Ramie

It was cold. Ramie had never felt this type of cold. but the outfit she wore was well made, no gaps in the stitches or anything. It was like her mother had stitched it. Maybe her mother had stitched it.

She shoved her hands into her armpits, trying to warm them through the gloves. beneath the black plastic and insulating fleece, her nails were painted with flowers. That was the approach her stylists took, and she'd played along. Ramie, the delicate lace-flower girl. Her hair was pulled in a french braid, and up until the final guards had removed it, there had been a flower woven through with the hair.

Ramie scouted out the items. She knew she didn't have a chance of getting past level 3, she wasn't fast enough or strong enough. But at least she knew that. She scouted a diagonal path from the starting platform to the edge of whatever park this used to be. There were a few useful items on that path, and she gave herself a bit of wiggle-room to nab anything that she might not be able to see from her spot here.

And suddenly there was the signal.

Ramie ran faster than she ever had, but still others were faster, and she quickly fell behind. She completely bypassed the first level, seeing as there was nothing there she'd need. A spool of thread stood out against the snow, and she grabbed it, noticing the needle attached. She could use this, but only if she had material to work with... she nabbed an open backpack and shoved the thread inside, not bothering to check the other contents. she was halfway to her planned exit, and entering level three. tributes were starting to attack each other with weapons they were finding. One tribute lunged at her with a knife, and she screamed, holding up her arms in instinct. The knife sunk into the backpack and slid out of the boy's gloved grip, and she ran from him. He didn't pursue her, seeing as he'd lost his weapon, but instead lunged back into the fray for another.

She bent to scoop up a thermal hat, remembering something her mother had told her. most heat escaped through the head. She grabbed a sweatshirt and kept running.

There, right in her path, was a sleeping bag. it would be her saving grace once the winter sun went down. She grabbed it, trying to drag it behind her, but was yanked back. in her rush, she hadn't noticed that another tribute, a boy larger than her, had grabbed onto the opposite end of the bag at the same time. He had started shoving his items in the open end, and they stared at each other for a moment, frozen in each other's gaze, each holding a childish hope that the other would just abandon the bag.

"Yah!" There was a shout, and suddenly a career was swinging a sword straight between them. Both Ramie and the boy pulled back at the same time, and the sword hit the taunt sleeping bag, tearing into the insulating and ripping straight through. Ramie ran, trailing her half of the bag behind her, leaving the boy to deal with the career and his sword.

She didn't know how long she had been running, or more like tromping quickly, through the snow, riding on the newfound feeling of adreniline. But she moved until she fell, facefirst into a snowdrift, gasping for breath in the dry air.

Has 1 needle and thread, 1 sweatshirt, 1 backpack with bandaids and a scarf (ripped), 1 dagger, 1 thermal hat, and half of a sleeping bag (ripped)

Name: Marco Denver

Age: 18

Gender: Guy

District: 1

Appearance/Picture:
Spoiler
Image

History: Marco's family is like most in District 1 - Games crazy. All his life, he trained for the games, and finally he's in them. He's determined to be ruthless, and to win these games. He doesn't exactly relish the idea of killing people, but figures 23 people are going to die anyway - why die himself? If anything, he can speed up their deaths, making it less painful. But in the end, they're going to die, because he is going to win, he thinks and says.

Skills: Sword fighting, wrestling, he's fast and nimble, and a lot smarter than people take him to be.

Weaknesses: Since he's had no real-life experience in pressing situations, his perceptions of situations aren't the best, and his instincts can be a bit off. He's also not the strongest, only excelling in certain things by using his opponents weaknesses against them. He also doesn't have very many survival skills, never having needed them before and with little place to practice them. He has learned a lot of things, but without experience in the mix, has no way of discerning their use

Personality: A bit rough around the edges, and seems like a typical Career, but under it he does feel differently. He loves nature, and hates things that are destroyed, especially burned. He hates fire, except as a means to stay warm. He's the kind of person that wants to protect life, but since he can't in the Games, he's going to put his fellow tributes out of their misery and pain as quickly as possible.

Up For Alliances?: Sure, but probably only with Careers or people who are huge assets. Otherwise he'll probably just go it alone.

Your Symbol: A silver anklet that was his uncle's.

How much are you willing to post: Same-ish as with Aushleanna

Other: Um... I guess I'm mostly going to let his personality and stuff grow through the SB.

Sorry for the late profile.

Name: Holly Burnett

Age: 14

Gender: Female

District: 10

Appearance/Picture: Dark brown hair cropped in a very haphazard way, brown eyes that look remarkably flat, and otherwise very generically pretty. She is a little podgier than avergage, and fairly tall. She has a scar on her left knee from being pushed over a school.

History: Holly's father abandoned her and her mother shortly after Holly was born, but since then her mother has remarried twice is now with husband number four. Otherwise, Holly has had a fairly standard life. She has never hunted, and seeing as her parents are fairly grasping she was entered for tesserae all years.

Skills: Well, a mathematical genius. She knows a bit about heat and preserving it, and is also fairly strong.

Weaknesses: Knows nothing whatsoever about survival, and is reluctant to kill. Also, her reactions are fairly slow. A terrible liar.

Personality: Holly is a genius in Maths, and prefers it to people. She talks to people a lot, but doesn't really listen. Most people don't like her, due to her habit of contradicting people for the sake of it. She's also extremely forgetful. (Does that count as a weakness?)

Up For Alliances?: Anyone who can help her survive and she's ok.

Your Symbol: A paperback copy of "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe,"
only allowed because it's too flimsy to be used as a missile. It's also been soaked in a fire resistant liquid so that she can't use it as tinder.
How much are you willing to post: Once a day on weekdays, perhaps twice at weekends.

Trenton

The normal thing would to run forward. The tributes had been programmed to do so, watching year after year of tributes before them run headfirst to their deaths at the cornucopia, dying over things like a bar of soap or a single match.

Trent knew better. He would wait in the wings until the others had left, and simply clean up behind them. Many tributes were afraid of taking the better things in fear of someone else seeing and trying to take them. This was against everything his mentor had told him, but then again, everything he did was against his mentor, his home, and the stupid capital.

"We don't have to fight!" He shouted before the games started, standing on his platform, surrounded by 23 other tributes who thought they would have to kill the rest. "Rebel through peace! They can't force us to kill! Down with President Snow!" He raised his fist, not knowing even if the others could hear him.

And then the games began and all hell broke loose. As soon as he saw that others weren't heeding his call, Trent turned and ran to the cover of trees behind him, taking refuge behind one as the bloodbath began. He covered his head against the sound of killing, of innocent children dying at the hands of others just like them.

"They don't want to do this." He whispered to himself. "They're fighting because they've been told to fight. I can change them. I can make them see the light."

Hiding behind level 1. has nothing as of yet.

The city was shrouded in mist, which clung to every surface like the claws of some fiendish animal. An air of deat hand misery lingered in every street, every alley, crawling from the frozen ruins and into the corners of my mind, whispering dark thoughts of bleak hopelessness.

Sweat trickled down my brow already, despite the freezing temperatures. I shivered in my circle, knowing it was only a matter of seconds before the explosives I knew all too much about were deactivated and the Bloodbath would begin. I knew I would never make it to Level 6, and that without decent resources I would die off pretty quickly.I had to at least make Level 4, maybe the Careers wouldn't kill me because they thought I was one of them.

I looked over at my competition, and my heart fell in dismay. They were all taller and fitter than me, I would be lucky if I got to Level One. The Game-maker was speaking, but I wasn't really listening. All I could hear was the pounding of blood in my ears and my heavy breathing. This was it The sun rose to it's peak and the Tributes took off like lighting, I wasn't concentrating on anyone else, I only was aware of getting one foot in front of the other as fast as I could. Screaming and shouting filled the air; but they fell short due to the mental wall I had erected. I reached Level one and didn't stop, I was dimly aware of people fighting or running into the city. The snow started to pile up and it was harder to run, the ice clung to my legs with a bitterly freezing wet clamp, slowing my progress.

Level 2 came next, and I realized I needed to stop and make do. I twisted round and hefted a back-back lodged in the snow over my shoulder, fumbled a pocket-knife out a clump of slush and a steel pipe. I crouched down and stuffed the pocket-knife into my back-pack, and brandished the pipe what I hoped looked like menacingly. Most people had either ran off or moved onto higher levels, so I had luckily evaded the fierce Bloodbath. I took the time to salvage a jug of water protruding from the frost, as well as a thin rope. These clutched in my hands I took off towards the city. I didn't stop again, or even look back; speed was everything. I made it out of the starting area and into the streets, overgrown plants protruded from abandoned buildings, snow covered every surface, and hacked it's way into my body with a chilled fire.

At the fifth apartment complex I stopped and ran inside, hoping no one was following me. I made my way up to the fifth floor and found a dusty room that was mostly intact. Under a haze of exhaustion I closed the door and dropped all I was carrying onto the wooden floor, than fell against the wall and cried.

Inside the third floor of a nearby building, has a Backpack, (with scarves, band-aids and gloves), pocket knife, Steel pipe, 20oz. Jug of Water and A thin rope

Erin

Erin bit her lip as she eyed the endless white vat of the arena that surrounded her. Even though she was in a warm suit, she felt so cold just from looking at everything. It never snowed back home in District 4. She thought it was unfair since some tributes were going to be used to the cold and this wouldn't be as big of a deal for them. It looked like all of the water was frozen over, which was a shame because she'd been counting on being able to use her swimming somehow. She'd be with the Careers soon, so thankfully she would be safe and hopefully might be able to learn a thing or two from them.

Erin took a deep breath and told herself to relax and not to worry about the cameras. She knew that everyone back home, across Panem, had to be watching her right now. Erin knew she would go to the Cornucopia - she didn't doubt her ability to fight, but there was always the possibility that someone was better then her. Just remember what Brent taught you. We were survivors, right? Erin thought to herself. Just before the gong sounded, she whispered what she had told her brother before the trains had taken her away.

"I love you, okay? I'm going to come back to District 4 and make you proud."

The next few moments passed by in a blur. She saw the Cornucopia in the distance and darted to it, picking up whatever she could in the process. As she picked up a small black bag, she barely dodged an arrow to her head. Erin didn't look to see who had thrown it, but she only hoped that someone would get at them -- hopefully it wasn't a career who didn't recognize who she was. She didn't stop to pick up more -- the stuff on this edge looked fairly useless. She knew the juicy stuff would be at the Cornucopia. It was very cold, like she had stepped into the Arctic. How did people live like this? She just kept running, not wanting to think about it.

Erin ran a little farther and the stuff was starting to get more lucrative. Her eyes gleamed when she saw what she had been hoping for; a pocket knife and two daggers. Before her hands could pick them all up, she saw two flashes of black and one of the daggers and the pocket knife were gone. Taking what was left, she made a vow that she would figure out who it was that took what she wanted and make them pay.

By the time she was about halfway there, she was beginning to get tired and cold. Before grabbing a rather large water bottle, she stopped in her tracks so as to rest for a minute; keeping her dagger close if anyone came near her. Maybe if she waited here for a little she could avoid the worst of the battle - after all, she would be sharing most everything at the Corncucopia with five other people. Dismayed by her lack of material, she reminded herself that there was still a ways to go. The things would only get better from here, and she would be sharing stuff with the other careers once she met up with them.

Erin opened the water bottle and started to drink greedily but then forced herself to stop so that she could conserve it, remembering that she hadn't seen any sources of running water before.

Has the small bag with a toothbrush and toothpaste, a dagger and 1/2 gallon bottle of water (full). Waiting at level three.

Aushleanna Lamode

The plate rose, Aushi on top, into the arena, and the first thing that hit her about it was the temperature - it was cold. They seemed to be in a large park or something, with a bunch of towering buildings surrounding them, huge but crumbling. The entire place was covered in snow and ice, some places more than others. Walls and benches had drifts against them, and any surface free of the white flakes was slick with ice. Scattered about were supplies, things from weapons to food to water bottles to backpacks and sleeping bags.

What I need is a jacket, she thought, shivering. And a bow. It wasn't really an afterthought - she always knew that was her only chance of survival. So it was on the back of her mind. Bow, jacket. Anything to keep warm.

Her eye on a few meager supplies, Aushi shot out as the gong chimed. She took off, running, her tread light over any obstacles thanks to years of outrunning predators and slinking through the woods. She scooped up a bag the size of her fist, a pair of gloves connected with a string, and an insulated water bottle, half gallon. She was getting too far in, but she knew that wasn't enough. Without even a knife, she'd be an easy target, something she could not afford to be.

Careful to steer to the side, away from any fights, out of most ranges, she darted through as she'd seen foxes and deer do countless times. She picked up a knife with a wooden handle and some flint stones without a hitch, and dove for what she took to be a messenger bag. A girl from District 3 also grabbed at it, but fell back as a dart stuck her neck. Aushi didn't wait to see how she was doing - the same person who shot the girl was aiming at her, and several people were eyeing the bag, knowing that anything so far in had to hold something valuable - so she rolled to her left, hastily unlatched the bag while running, and slid the stuff she'd collected in, flipping the latch shut. Still running, she dodged knives and darts and any other number of sharp things. She'd always been good at that kind of thing - avoiding abandoned traps and accidentally released weapons made for good reflexes.

She was about to head right, away from the Cornucopia, when something caught her eye - a silver bow and sheath of arrows. The only one she could see. She didn't hesitate - she didn't have the option, time-wise - and she dashed for it. When she was still a dozen yards from it, someone else got there first - the boy from her District, Hunter Williams. He eyed her, recognized her - they were in the same class at school - and knew she was a threat; you could see it in his eyes. And so was he. He was just as adept at archery as she was, if not more, and she didn't have time to wait to see what he'd do - once he loaded an arrow, she'd be done. So she took her advantage and ran for it, just making it out of his range by the time he could shoot at her. He started to chase her, but others - the real threats - were still in battle and coming after him.

So Aushi ran, ran, ran too far before she realized after the bloodbath was over, there'd be more supplies. Maybe she should stick around, not too close. So quietly, she headed back, back through the dark, desolate buildings to just outside the park. There, she circled a building slowly, carefully. Soundlessly. To keep herself warm. To watch for enemies. When anyone passed, she'd hide, not wanting to confront them, not yet. Doing that, she waited.

Circling a building on East Drive, with a knife, two flint stones, mittens, a half gallon water bottle, empty, a small bag with a toothbrush and paste, and a larger bag with a thing of crackers, and thing of jerky, a small electronic heater in it, and a thing of batteries.

District 3 girl not dead yet.

Clea Little

I couldn't believe this was actually happening. One day, I was with my family, the next I was on the train to the Capitol and training to kill my fellow human beings and what seemed like shortly after that, I was facing a ruin of a city along with many other kids my age waiting to kill each other. Our starting positions seemed to be in the middle of a huge park that seemed to be in the middle of the city ruin. Snow was all around us and there was a chill that seemed constant and unavoidable. I had to concentrate and look for a bow and arrow.

I knew it would be farther up, and I wouldn't risk going any farther than level three unless I knew that I could get something valuable. I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost didn't notice the barriers rise and the games beginning. When I started to run, I was slightly behind everybody else, but I was fast and I was able make up the distance. I ignored the first two levels and stopped at level three to look around. That was when I saw the bow and arrow set at level four. It was risky and full of tributes, but I needed something. I debated waiting back, but my legs made me press forward and I did. On my way, I grabbed a bag without even looking at it and sprinted for the bow and arrow.

I grabbed them just as another tribute reached me. It was the guy from the fishing district. He was pretty attractive I thought but the fact that he was trying to kill me was a little bit of a turn off. I grabbed the arrow and he grabbed the bow. We looked at each other for a moment. We both had the thing the other needed to complete the set. The difference being that my half was pointy. I jabbed him in the leg and grabbed the bow as he let go of it and sprinted away. He yelled something at me that I assumed to be a death threat, but I was already long gone in the park.

I didn't want to venture into the city until I absolutely needed to. I was better when surrounded by nature and the city scared me. It looked like it wanted to swallow me whole and there were too many places to be ambushed. No, I was to stay where I was semi-comfortable. I leaned against a tree and looked into my bag. There was a sweater, an icepick, socks, poison, beef jerky and crackers. The sweater and socks would be extremely valuable in these temperatures. I had no clue how to use the icepick, but it was sharp so I kept it. The beef jerky and crackers could last me a while if I didn't need to share it and the poison will make up for the fact that I only had one arrow. All I had to do was scratch someone and let them die. Hopefully the arrow wouldn't break easily.

I put on the sweater and put everything else in the bag but held onto the bow and arrow. It was only two minutes into the games and I already wanted them to end. I wanted to go home. Alive would be best.

Among some trees. Has one bow and one arrow and the bag containing poison, sweater, socks, crackers, icepick and beef jerky

Ara Ordoe

Ara stared ahead of her as the platforms raised above the ground. They were in a city, an old, rundown city. She didn't know places like this still existed in Panem. Maybe it had been constructed especially for this Hunger Game. Either way, it was going to be dangerous.

She glanced over at the other tribute from her district. A young guy named Kyran. She had seen him around before, she was pretty sure, but had never talked to him or anything. Ara rarely talked to anyone she didn't work with in the fields. The kid was nice enough; they'd spent a lot of time training together under the guidance of their mentor. Ara'd decided she'd do whatever she could to send him home alive. Even though their mentor obviously focused more attention on Ara during training. Ara was built more like a winner than Kyran, and she'd been given a much higher rank than him.

It wasn't that Ara didn't want to go home alive. She had as hard a life as anyone, and would have lived well off the status of a winner of the Games. But after the reaping, this young girl had come up to Ara. She'd asked her to try to keep Kyran alive. To let him come back to her. Ara didn't have anyone to go back to.

The clock struck noon and the tributes leapt off their platforms. Ara went with them, though she had no intention of fighting for anything. Instead she settled for grabbing up stuff left behind in level one. She'd need more than that, but there would be plenty of time for sneaking back to the cornucopia for better gear.

Out of the corner of her eye, Ara caught Kyran running into the mess of tributes. She groaned, wrapped all the stuff she'd grabbed in a plastic tarp and took off after him. She wasn't going to lose him this early.

Thin blanket, water proof tarp, tweezers, one bar of soap, one pocket knife, one empty 20 oz water bottle. Following Kyran further toward the Cornucopia.

Holly

The metal plate beneath me lets out a squeaking noise as I run my trainers over it. Even now I begin to feel the first slivers of fear wash over me, but I calm myself by using a familiar method. Chanting my times tables.

"One times one is one, two times one is two..."

The familiar rhythms lull me into sensory shutdown, and everything else is blocked out.

"Five times four is twenty, six times-"

Twenty three children hurtled forwards. What? Without hesitating, I followed, trying hard to gain a decent pace, but not suceeding. I stumbled, and closed my hand around the first thing I could find. Looking up, I screamed at the sight of a carer looming over me. He lifted a dart gun, and my hands flew over my head, but a hammer destroyed his face and head from behind. I didn't hang about, but fled, the image of the hot blood flowing from the career's head replaying over and over again. As I ran, I payed no heed to my surroundings, and found myself in the zoo when I stopped. Swinging over the fence of an exhibit, I found a suitable resting place in a form of stables.

Only then I looked at my handful of items collected from the Cornucopia, and when I did I wanted to cry. I'd hoped for a match, or a life-saving tool of survival, since I knew otherwise I didn't have a chance. What I did have was a block of soap and a small bag with a pair of tweezers in it. After wondering for a couple of minutes about the possibilities of turning the tweezers into a weapon, I picked up a stone and spent a further hour attempted to sharpen the tweezers. The results were some rather mangled tweezers.

After that, I pulled my shirt tight around me, and curled up to preserve my body heat. I knew that exercise to warm up would only waste my energy, but I couldn't resist tugging at the tweezers until they resembled a kind of minus sign. After that, I lost myself in the familiar world of C.S. Lewis.

Hiding in staables in Central Park Zoo. Has Level One bar of soap and bag with tweezers. District 4 boy dead.

I have given up keeping track of everything taken and taking it off the list one by one. Both profiles look good, ultraviolet and Skorpionne. Now I will get down to actually reading all the posts. XD

Also I forgot to tell you something. This is important to remember. At the end of your post I would also like you to state where you are on the map like some people already have been doing.

Thank you,

A. S.

P.S. Forsakin I have frozen your spot.

These were autumn mornings, the time of year when kings of old went forth to conquest; and I, never stirring from my little corner in Calcutta, would let my mind wander over the whole world.
