I only noticed this today, but at some point within the last couple weeks, the percentage of YWSers from the United States has declined below 60% for the first time ever in YWS' 6+ year history. It's specifically 58.12% at the moment. This reflects not American decline (in absolute number terms, everything is going up), but rather very strong international growth as of late.
Here are the exact figures for the time period of February 5 to March 7, 2011:
United States - 58.12%
United Kindgom - 11.47%
Canada - 8.35%
Australia - 3.58%
New Zealand - 2.74%
Philippines - 2.17%
India - 1.46%
Other - 12.11%
Total Visits: 59,435
Compare that to precisely one year ago (February 5 to March 7, 2010):
United States - 64.60%
United Kingdom - 11.25%
Canada - 5.76%
Australia - 4.41%
New Zealand - 2.91%
Philippines - 0.97%
India - 0.97%
Other - 9.13%
Total Visits: 46,406
You can even see the increasing international nature of YWS in a comparison of the global maps:
February 5 to March 7, 2011
February 5 to March 7, 2010
By the way, in both of the maps above, the smallest dot equals about 50 visits. So every dot indicates at least 1 active YWSer.
