Wow! The Review Day began with a goal of 573 reviews. That would have beaten our record from July 2010's Review Day when we did a total of 572 reviews. However, y'all weren't content with that. No, y'all had to go and beat the goal by 88 reviews.

That's right. By the time Big Ben struck midnight in London, YWSers had completed 660 reviews toward the goal. But that's not at all for you see reviews in Art/Photography don't count toward the goal. However, when you include reviews in that forum, YWSers had completed a total of 692 reviews.

692 reviews in 24 hours. There ain't no way that record is falling anytime soon.

By the way if you participated in the Review Day, you can check your rank here (it's been cleaned up to take ties into account):

Lastly, here's an interesting image of YWS' server usage:

In the image above, the Review Day is that last quarter of Saturday (a little more than that) along with the first three columns shown for Sunday.

Now, YWS runs on a cloud based service at http://www.vps.net. So instead of having a real server, YWS uses what are called nodes. One node equals 600 mhz of processing power, and YWS has 7 nodes. In the image above, that middle red line represents 10 nodes. So for a good portion of the Review Day, YWS was running well above its allotted capacity. That in turn led to 4 crashes total. Needless to say, I spent much of the time just ensuring that YWS continued to run!

Bottom Line: 692 reviews in 24 hours; 120 more than the previous record. Incredible.

You did a pretty good job of keeping YWS from crashing. I was pleasantly surprised I only encountered some signs of crashiness twice.

I also like that I got the 500th review.

You'll need to start using a new word. :P Although I only counted 5 going through a search.

I love the same person started/finished. That is awesome.

This is what happens when you throw a competition into YWS. Review Day is like our Super Bowl!

I like to imagine the website as a physical thing you have to keep from crashing. And you run around, battening down the hatches, and lashing the sails, and turning the rudder to port (or starboard, whichever suits your fancy), and bailing out water.
