Disney Drawings 2

Here are some of my drawings I've done recently. I apologize for the blurriness; my camera is pretty horrible. I don't know how good they are going to look because I tried to make the lines easier to see in photoshop. I'm not sure how well that turned out. Please review them as well as you can. Again I apologize for their condition.

BeAnut! Heya! I figured I haven’t reviewed any art in a while so who better to review then you!
And don’t worry, I’ll ignore the camera quality.

Tangled I like this because you made the hair so interactive and gave it (a very important part of the story) a life of its own. But two things sort of bug me. The first is that Rapunzel’s face seems a little wider than it should but that could be more due to the angle than anything else. The other thing is that you covered Flynn’s mouth and if I remember correctly from the commercials, his smile was sort of a winning part of him, wasn’t it? It seems like such a terrible thing to waste if you ask me but I could also be mistaken.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire I have to say I can’t see anything even remotely wrong with this. The lines are very clean and everything is super accurate. The only suggestion I have is that this is definitely something that could have been improved with color. I remember from the movie (the Atlantis movies are my two of my favorite Disney movies ever) that one of the coolest parts was the color. I loved the creamy, romantic blues that they used in the movie and even a little color accent, maybe tweaking it in Photoshop, would have made this cooler than it already is.

Anastasia This picture, however, I dislike quite a bit (though of course I mean it in the nicest way possible). The problem is that I think the proportions in the faces are all off. Her cheek seems way too large the way they’re bodies are drawn seems uncomfortable.


Overall, though, I like them, probably Atlantis the best. But like I mentioned, I really think I would have liked it more with color because the colors in the movie were so completely and fabulously stunning. But that’s just a recommendation.

Keep On Drawing!

You are a disney artist in the making! Of course, some are better then others, but all are wonderful.
In tangled, the hair is the only thing I didn't believe. It seemed like jsut lines. Perhaps because it's not colored? Maybe having a few loose strands here and there may make it pop more.

Atlantas: This one is nice. Everything seems proportionate and well drawn. I knew the characters right off.

The last one is good, but the worst of the three if that makes sense. It's done well, but the proportions are off, as I believe one other viewer commented about. I am, how ever, unsure how to fix it over the internet. It's hard to explain. They are all very lovely though.

One trick I did learn in art: Turn the work upside down. From this perspective we are able to tell un-proportionate things, as well as simple mistakes or missing things.

Hello there.

I'll ignore the condition of the picture itself, and concentrate on the drawings.

1. I like this one. I don't know if it's just me, but somehow, Rapunzel looks really angry and evil. I think it's her right eye that makes that effect. Maybe make it a little bit smaller. I think that would help. Also, drawing stay strands of hair here and there, like at the side of her face? Anyways, although all of this, I like it, and I think you've done a pretty great job!

2. This one is pretty good as well. I don't think I've got anything bad to say.

3. It's my favorite one! And again... Nothing bad to say.

In general you pictures where not bad, i quite liked them.

1. The hair was probably the biggest problem, not enough detail really was just random lines. The faces where also out of proportion. I suggest drawing a grid, on both eh original and yours so you can refer to it and see how features should be probably placed, the it really does help.

2. I like this one. It looks right and you have captured the expressions very well. I would like more detail though, infact more detail on all of them.

3. The faces are out of proportion, makes it look a little awkward but still good. I would suggest looking up tutorials that could help you with structuring faces.

Good Work

These are great drawings, but some are better than the other. Let me explain.

Tangled- I liked this drawing. Although Rapunzel's face is a little wide, it makes her have kind of chubby cheeks. Both faces look like the faces in the movie, and I enjoy that. (I actually haven't seen the movie, just an onslaught of commercials and sneak peeks.) And I like how you have Rapunzel's hair blocking off the edge of the photo. It sort of spices it up. Great job here.

Atlantis- This is by far my favorite out of all of them. Although I do have some criticism. Milo's ear isn't really the shape of an ear, if you know what I say. And why does Kida have lips when Milo doesn't? That confuses me. Other than that, great drawing. Milo looks almost exactly the same as the movie, and even though Kida is up front I focused more on Milo because he was drawn better. (Or maybe I just like him better.) Anyway, great job.

Anastasia- I didn't like this picture nearly as much as the others. The proportions in the face are all out of whack, her cheekbone is HUGE! And his shoulders are just slanting down, they don't look like shoulders. Just saying my opinion. No offense.
