JART - Jenthura’s Art Request Thread

Amy (Aquamarine) told me to post this here, I was going to put it in Art and Photography, but then decided to ask her first. So if it's out of place, then blame her.

I was somewhat curious as to how this sort of thing would work, and no doubt wary of sounding egotistical. Nevertheless, I put fears and doubts aside to create this thread, unique in that there will be a limit (4) in requests.
Don’t expect much, and most certainly don’t come back if you didn’t like your purchase*.
Also, please read carefully any and all requests that follow this post. If you can see that all request positions have already been filled, do not add another, even if the request-list below does not list some of them.
In other words, I may not get around to maintaining the open/closed status of the requests, so just keep an eye on that.



Who: Me, Jenthura Esquire, your faithful and not-so-gallant artisan-knight.

Where: Posted here on this thread, PM’d to you and (If I think I did it well enough) in a post of its own or with other artworks I post.

What: Any piece of art, an illustration for your story, a portrait (must send image!), a banner for your website, or even an image based off song lyrics! You can request avatars, profile images or desktop backgrounds. Please note that I have limited digital art abilities, and that (to me) human anatomy is yet a mystery to be unraveled.

When: Within a week of your request, but conflicting matters of possibly more interest may cause the waiting-length to lengthen.

How: I work primarily with ink and brush, but watercolor, acrylic, pencil, charcoal or even clay can be used. Your choice.

Why: Because I feel like doing it, because I may be bored most of the time, because I like seeing people happy*, because art makes me happy, because I don't post things anymore...much. You want any more reasons?

DiannePan - Yours will be very hard indeed. Your story was so intricate, I believe I will want to do an ink lineart, no color, so as to maximize the detail. Perhaps the girl climbing steps with a broken mask on the floor with a champagne-dripping clock on the wall and a checkered floor, all very Alice-in-Wonderland-esque.

Amy - For yours I believe I will try a freehand brush with ink on watercolor paper (and salt). I'll have it roughly the size of a normal monitor, just in case you have a laptop or smaller screen. If you want a specific size, please tell me. (My screen is 1280 X 1024 pixels = 10")

Lauren2010, Lumi - Of course, I did my own NaNo novel cover (even though I never finished the novel XD) and could easily do yours. What novel do you want me to do?

Amy - I finished yours, but there's a hitch, my scanner broke! :O I'll get it posted within this week though, that's for sure.

DiannePan - I have your drawing all planned out in my mind now, all the details are there and the rough edges are gone...I just have to put my mind onto paper now. *sigh*

Oh, my gosh. I would love you forever if you could do character portraits. Or portrait singular. I don't have any pictures in mind (why would I be asking you if I did) but if you'd like to, it would earn you my eternal admiration. If so, I'll give you descriptions (description- there's only one I really really want and one that would be awesome if you wanted to- or the two together in one picture, obvs) and all.

I think all the position are filled up at the moment. So I'll sweep back round later because I'd very much like a character illustration!

Anyway, the novels called Eventide (there's a few chapters posted on YWS but you need not read them).

Here's a basic synopsis of the plot:
For Natura Halle, Icarthia was a peaceful place. Until her father fell ill and she was made to be more for her family than a young woman should be. But it was a sacrifice she would make for those she loved. She did all she could, until a suitor came along. And she was made to marry a man she never knew. He took Natura away from her home, but little did she know she had been kidnapped by two desperate young women. And again, more would be asked of her than she could give. Again, Natura will do what she must for those she loves. She will fight, and give all she has for this wolrd, or risk and eternity in darkness.

Anything else that may make creating a cover easier:
Natura is around eighteen years old, has long brown hair, brown eyes, and is pretty slim (athletic build I would guess) and she would wear long dresses (nothing extravagant) similar to mideival peasant styles. She has a companion wolf (part of the Icarthian culture) that is just your typical gray wolf. Eventide means more or less evening so I'm thinking it would be nice to have that incorperated into the title, and Icarthia is a highly forested country. Also, there are two moons in this world.

So do what you think would be best, I trust your artistic creative mind I would like though, some sort of reference to evening if that works out. Thanks so much, Jenth!

Ranger - Of course, there's open space, what kind of avatar would you like? I think I can guess from your choice of avatars that it would contain some semblance of that Percy Jackson dude.

Stella - Of course! I could do your character portrait. Could you send me a description? What pose would you like?

Lauren - I looked up your novel after your first post. I guessed it was Eventide (I think it was the only novel there) and instantly came up with the mental image of a girl staring off into the sunset, hugging her knees. I even imagined her wearing an ankle-length dress, but I didn't foresee the wolf or double moons.

Amy, DiannePan - I finished it! Please don't ask what the Chinese characters mean, Amy, I copied them off a candy wrapper and my ink bottle. Dianne, I know I promised yours would have a lot of detail, but after doing Amy's picture, I wanted to make yours with brush. Anything I do with brush is very simple. Also, Dianne, I have yours as a screen-sized image, would you like it as a background?

Hmm, sounds interesting. Inclusion of a wolf doesn't particularly matter, and the double moons is mostly something I've played with but haven't really incorporated into the story yet. You're the artist, do what you think is best.

Is there room for one more?
