So, I don't know if this is just me, but with six remaining in 2010, I have been thinking a lot about my resolutions for the new year. We already have a thread for YWS resolutions, here, but this thread can contain just general goals, either about writing or how you want to grow and change and become a better person.

Here are a few of mine. This is an incomplete list and will change as I think of more.

Spoiler
-- Edit Into the Depths and get to a point where I am satisfied with it

-- Be more grateful for I what I have in life and not spend so much time being jealous of other people

-- Get a job when I turn 15 in the summer and can work

-- Eat Less junk food / swap for healthier choices

-- Don't spend money so carelessly

-- Go to the gym at least once a week

-- Get all As in a semester / study more, harder

-- Stretch for 5 min before bed every other night

-- Write on a regular basis / participate in and finish NaPo/NaNo

(in no particular order:)

- Write more.
- Start viewing myself in a better light.
- Keep my room clean for real. I "do" this every year, but alas.
- Graduate.
- Get in university.
- Submit to YWLJ.
- Be positive and optimistic all the time, not just most of the time.
- Be more confident.
- Something else.

"14. Pretend like you would want him even if he wasn't a prince. (Yeah, right.)" -How to Make a Guy Like You - Disney Princess Style

Oooohers....let's think:

--- Finish reading Into the Depths because I intend to keep my promise and because it's the awesomest story EVER!
--- Finish the last few pages of the school website before the end of winter break.
--- Finish the YWS 2010 Yearbook website on time.
--- Submit to the YWLJ
--- Finish editing my own NaNo novel.
--- Review more.
--- Write a good poem.
--- Make the A honor roll at least once more.
--- Have more fun!

I see myself keeping one of those. Haha!
Never forget who you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.

--Frequent the poetry board on my other writers' forum
--Read more first chapters of books (Because if I start reading, then I'll keep reading for hours. But if I don't start...)
--Become a better conversationalist
--Better my posture
--Get my German back up to speed in time for study abroad!
--Be one of those obnoxious students who asks questions in class
--Eat cereal for dinner less

--Rewrite Rebirth, implementing the writing style I didn't have when I wrote it the first time, and everything I've learned about writing since. Attempt to complete this before my birthday.
--Draw more.
--Write Kiss of Death either alongside Rebirth or after it.
--Find time to write that unnamed story of mine (name it too).
--Get an A, or at least a B, in a Maths test.
--Become better in hockey, that is, concentrate in the middle of a match. Also improve my fitness so I get less tired during said match.

- Do much better in maths...
- Actually start reading things. I haven't read a novel since May.
- Do well in my mock GCSE exams.
- Mature a tad bit.
- Grow my hair.

(Not including my YWS resolutions)

1) Actually study for GCSEs and then -
2) Pass GCSEs with A/A* grades
3) Choose and get into a good sixth form/college
4) Run a half-marathon in March and October
5) Participate in the Hellespont swim from Europe to Asia
7) Stop worrying so much, and therefore sleep better.
8) Do NaNoWriMo
9) Learn to deal with disappointment. The coming year is most likely going to involve sixth form rejections and exam failures, so I need to be able to get over that and not let it break me.
10) Sit up straight
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

6. EXERCISE. IMPORTANT.
7. Become a bit more tolerant of certain things.
8. Work like a nut on my projects.

My new years resolution is to stop letting my past hurt me and realize in whatever way it shaped me. I may have made mistakes but I finally got up from them and it's time to move on and not be hurt by what I did during my breakdown.
You poor take courage
You rich take care
This earth was made a common treasury
For everyone to share
All things in common
All people one
We come in peace
The orders came to cut them down
