Books that were made into GOOD movies

Harry Potter. The movies are awesome and if you noticed, the Sorcerer's Stone was very close to the book.
The others traveled off into some separate stories.

I guess I should mention Watership Down

these aren't really GOOD movies but this is what came to my mind first.
