Hello!

I used to be a member - probably 6 years ago now. My earlier stuff was quite embarrassing, so I'm trying to distance myself from it. Trust me, no one should be subjected to the whiny, navel-gazing things I wrote when I was younger. Or my narcissistic personality.

Anyways, about me: I'm Quibbler. You can call me Quib or Kate, or any other nickname you choose to bestow upon me. I'm a senior in high school, counting down the days until graduation. I plan on studying Biology when I get to college, perhaps focusing on Biochemistry or Genetics or Biotechnology. I'm still indecisive, so it's probably for the best that I will be taking a gap year. During that time, I plan on being a working student at a Dressage (Horseback-riding) barn. I'm working out the details, but it will mean escaping my dull state and settling in California or Florida for a year, where I can immerse myself in riding and training.

For the past few years, I've been working on a steampunk novel. It's undergone more reboots than most movie franchises, but it's nearing completion. I'm hoping that you guys will help me refine it so it is ready to survive the dreadful querying process! I have a few other pieces in the works, but none of them are as developed yet.

I think that covers the basics about me. I'm happy to be back here.

Hi, Quibbler! Welcome to YWS (Or, more appropriately, welcome back). I'm Ellie.

Steampunk? That's so cool. I've heard a lot about the genre but I don't really know if I've actually ever actually read anything that would fit. Maybe that will have to soon change! Do you have any other favorite genres to write in or read? See, my favorite reading genre is science-fiction, but I cannot write a good science-fiction story to save my life.

Horse back riding is awesome. I used to do it when I was about nine, but then I had to quit because of issues with money. It's so much fun, and I still think back to how much I loved it. I hope it works out for you to work there.

I love your username, by the way. I'm guessing that you're a Harry Potter fan? I love that series. ^^

I know what you mean by old works. I dislike looking at them but they remind me of how far I've gotten with my writing skills and that makes me smile.
Wow Biochemistry, that sounds hard...but it could be fun. I'm more of an artsy person. =P

That was probably when Nate just started the site. We're having a YWS birthday bash tomorrow! (14 Nov.)

Ee! Biotech is awesome! We have a fair amount of bio-related majors here. I'm doing biotechnological engineering, so it sort of encompasses biochem, bio, chemical engineering, genetics and all that interesting stuff! *insert mad-scientist-to-be laugh here.*
