I don't actually know how to do this, because I am technologically challenged, but here goes everything.... This is a mixed media piece I did over the summer. It was inspired partly by my story "Annabel in Neverland" and partly by something my boyfriend said about a lion and blue skies....

Hm, I'm sure this looks better in person. I wish it was larger so I could view it more clear.

Hmm, this is an interesting piece.

The whole setting and landscape really reminds me of an African safari. I think your coloring and shading is strong and it's cool how you were able to seamlessly blend different mediums to create this, except for the big patch of grass in the middle. Is it supposed to be a hill, a hole, or part of the field? At this point, I can't really tell. The colors are so dramatically different from that of the rest of the grass so it's hard to imagine it being as part of the field. The dark-to-light colors make me think of a hole, but the shape makes me think of a hill. However, if it were one, it probably should blend in more, you know?

Also, something seems out of proportion. Either the girl and the lion are both such tiny flecks, or the pegasus is gigantic. It doesn't feel like there's really a balance between the two, and that makes the rest of the setting seem cramped and cluttered.

Overall, this is good work! PM me if you have any questions.

I think seeing this in person it would look better, but it still looks good. I agree with ElinorBrynn that the girl and lion are too small or the pegasus is too big, but it's still a nice piece, and the whole style and image kind of makes me think of these drawings that were in a storybook when I was little (and for the record, the pictures in it were beautiful!) I get a little bit of a folk art feel from it. And if my rambling doesn't make any sense, let me put it this way: I like it, even though it could be improved a little proportion-wise.

Yeah, it does look better in person...

In all honesty, the grass is that way because...I got lazy.

I know. LAME. I should've kept going...but I got lazy.

Oh, well.

On the other hand - the lion and the girl are supposed to be disproportionate to the Pegasus. It's a Neverhorse. They're ginormous!

Haha. It's something in "Annabel in Neverland" (haven't posted that chapter yet)...but anyways, the tiny girl and lion beside the giant winged horse is intentional. Thank heavens for that!

But...

...the grass was pure laziness. >.<

This is really tiny. I wish it was bigger so I could see it better. Oh well. As much as I can tell, there's a girl and a lion and a really huge pegasus. If I'm wrong, take no offense. I just can't see. :)

It looks good from what I can tell and I love the idea. I have an obsession with anything being proportionally huge to something else, so the gigantic pegasus is completely awesome to me. :D I like it a lot!

Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.
