The story goes like this:

Earlier today I was going some of the required reading for my class on New Media and Culture. It was all about online communities and how they can't just be dismissed as things that take place on a screen. I knew what the author meant, since I used to an active member of a forum called Taborama, which died a long time ago. In the many years since, I haven't been willing to fully commit to any other site, afraid of having my heart broken again. But today, doing my reading, I felt like I couldn't stay away from this world any longer. It is time to become a citizen of cyberspace again. And anyway, what kind of communications studies student should be detached from his area of interest?

So, in an effort to reinforce some of the reasons why I strongly believe an online community can be as significant as a real one, I have decided to return (yes, return) to YWS. I was a member here a long time ago, too. I won't say what my name was, because it was a very long time ago and I'm trying to distance myself from some of the garbage I wrote, and I don't just mean stories and poetry. I was too self-interested to critique anything, and too angsty to write anything of any value, so I'm starting again.

The rest of the story will be told in time, without all this info-dumping. I guess for now all I'll add is that my name is Luke, I live in Australia, and the focus of my writing has recently shifted from prose to comic books.

And now, bonne nuit. Bonne nuit, to you all.
I'm on a bloodbuzz.

Well, I feel that it is save to promise you that YWS won't die off anytime soon. I defiantly agree with you too. An online community is just as significant as a real one maybe even better because people usually all share a common interest. I for one live in the country I am home-schooled I am not in any sports. I don't have a drivers license. This really narrows down who I see every week. Those people are few and far between so it is really rare when one shares the common interest of writing. This is where I can talk to people about my interest and not feel awkward and actually have some feed back.

I think you are right to make a new account. The best way to receive a YWSers trust is to give reviews. You aren't going to get reviews yourself if you don't. You aren't working on those old projects anyway. Hmmm comic books, they have always fascinated me. They can be so good or so terrible I can't force myself to read anymore. I can't wait to see some of yours because I usually love them. For comic books I don't really care if the drawing is good as long as the dialog is. I am just funny that way. I would also like to see some of your prose even if it is old. I write poetry. so, I could probably help you with that better. Maybe YWS will spark your interest in prose again.

Because you seem like you will have no trouble getting around the forum I am not going to overload you with a bunch of information. But, if you do have any questions just P.M. me and I would be happy to help.

Hope to see you around,

A. S.

*Melodramatic Voice*
In a world where the colour of your skin doesn't matter as much as the content of your writing, in a world where your face can be anything under 100kb, a black sheep tries to redeem himself while simultaneously coping with the strains of unviersity. Bitten by a radioactive black sheep at the tender age of 13, Luke is trying to fill the gaping hole in his forums bookmarks (or speed dial if he uses cooler browsers *Cough*Opera*Cough*) by returning to his old friend. Will all be the same? Will Luke enjoy the 'new' YWS. And why oh why are you still reading this. All these questions answered when you...

Hey Luke. I love your story. And about the Bonne nuit part, sorry, I don't speak Zulu. Nonetheless, do you enjoy essays and non-fiction or poetry and fiction?

But I'm finding out love's unreliable.
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

Wait. What. That is not what I meant to write. I'm listening to a song (pretty bad one actually) and for some reason I wrote that. *checks time* Yup, it's way to early for me, so I guessed I'm excused. So, uh, I'm going to welcome you, because that's what we do here. Yeah. Fo shizzle. Anyway, WELCOME BACK PERSON I PROBABLY DON'T KNOW!!! I missed you uber much!!! :DDD (Why yes, I am a weirdo).

P.S. I'm giving all the something to make you stay, or am I just a road block in your way?
