Do you have a pen name?

I always use lilgreendots or greendots, or sometimes I'll use an alternate name spelling like antwonette, when my real name is Antoinette.

If I ever used a pen name for my books it would be Danielle Grae.

But seriously, what are the pros and cons of using a pen name? Is it a good idea? Or does it have a down side?

For some local newspapers, my pen name is Bowen Mater, after a family name.

For me it's more a matter of shame. I'll just leave it at that...

My real name is very plain, I've thought about choosing a pen name, perhaps Bo Gus or something similar.

My real name is Gabrielle. It's long and sometimes peeps pronounce it as
"Gay-brielle". It's not much of a problem, but yea. It's just long XD

So it's Gabbi (nick) or GlitterGabbi (usernames). :3

I don't really have a pen name, but I have had several internet nicknames in the past, two being Shadow and Dark (Both based off usernames) If I do, however, have a pen name it would be based off the name I picked in Spanish Class: Lucia. Or Luna (cause that is a real name). I'm not quite sure.

i publish on various sites using a different username for each just to keep people guessing as to the origin of a story. usernames i use:

horrendous
gurutar
Strawberry Holocaust

and on some sites i actually use my full name, Anthony Michael La Forge. i'm really not popular enough (read: at all) to use a pen name... though if i had to choose one off the top of my head it'd be Longrod von Hugendong. because its kinda funny.

There's a disease called Kocuria Rosea that's commonly abbreviated as K. Rosea. This is almost my name. I would love to publish under K. Rosea...

I would just use my reg. name it interesting enough.
