"Recommend a Film" Thread!

Hey there!

Welcome to the Recommend a Film! thread. This is the second in a series of official new threads for you to recommend some of your favourite things in the entertainment industry to YWSers!

Anyway, all you do is one after another recommend a Film and tell us a little bit about why you found it incredible, interesting, so bad it was brilliant, crossing the line, inspiring, hilarious, juvenile, unique, fun, lively or trumendous. Whatever flows your boat really.

It'll inspire people to watch new things. Well, I hope it will anyway. :]

I recommend these new films:

The Ghost - It's a bit slow, but picks up soon enough and is a good, engaging thriller. A good cast too with Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - One of my favourite movies. Adrenaline fueled and lots of good fun - bit cheesey, but it's all for a good cause.

The A-Team - I've never seen the TV series but the movie is fun and action packed. (:

Napoleon Dynamite ~ If you haven't already seen this movie then you must live in a box, but for those who haven't, it is a hysterical comedy. That follows a high school with problems, his brother, and friend pedro.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) - This film is just incredible. It's a magical, whimsical ride, with great acting, story and an ending that will make you smile.

Rear Window - One of Alfred Hitchcock's finest works. In this movie, a photographer played by Jimmy Stewart breaks his leg and is confined to his apartment for quite some time. To help his boredom, he starts spying on his neighbors and thinks he sees a murder. The police doesn't believe him, so he works closely with his girlfriend in a chilling and supensful attempt to solve it.

Inception Many have watched this, but this is sheer brilliance. It has so many levels and you leave the theatre with a lot of head-talk going on.

Toy Story 3 One of the few animated films that grew as I grew. The great fact was that they designed the movie in such a way it excites younger ones as well as those who were initially enthralled by the first installment.

And if you'd like some Indian movie (most part of which is in English, don't worry) I'd say Madrasapattinam It is onbe of those few movies which isn't mindless romance/action. It has good substance set in the British Raj period of India.

The Italian Job (1969)
Defines Michael Caine's acting career and is one of the funnest, greatest British movies of all time.

Pan's Labyrinth: A dark fairytale (or not, depending on your interpretation of it). Just brilliant in its contrasting of a child's fantasies and the much darker real world, and how those two things blend into one another. Creepy, in a good way. Vaguely disturbing to some. Definitely a Tear Jerker. Pure awesome. (and the theme music is just great)
