Hello, I'm Melinda. This is my first time on a site like this and I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm not very talkative, but I do love to write. I will be posting my work in the future as soon
as I can earn some points. Some facts about me.

I love indie/alternative music. Such as The smiths,The cure, friendly fires

I love reading and writing poetry and stories

I read a couple poems on this site and most of them are really good. :D

Hey Melinda! Welcome to YWS! :D

You can earn points by posting reviews and greeting people! So be sure to do that. :)

What sorts of things do you write? Besides poems and stories... be more specific! Are you writing any awesome novel projects? :)

I'm a very gloomy. A lot people say my work is depressing. I've written some short stories, some on fantasy and others on worldly themes such as poverty, racism..ect.

Hi Melinda! Welcome to the site :)

If you have any questions or anything, feel free to send me a Private Message (PM), and I would love to help you out.
The site is pretty basic- you kind of have a give-take relationship with everyone. You can read and review other people's work, and yours will be too. The site is a pretty great community altogether. I've grown a lot since joining. :)

Looking forward to reading some of your work!

Hahaha, you're in good company then! One time, my mom read my story and said, "Why don't all your characters commit suicide?" Which, admittedly, was a comment that hurt my feelings, but oh well! Gloomy stuff is the best.

Oooooh... worldly themes such as poverty and racism? That sounds excellent.

Hi, ultraviolet here! :D

Well, looks like they covered all the basic, "important" questions. On to the randomness!

What's your favorite dog breed? How long have you been writing? What's your favorite movie genre? Favorite color? Favorite number? Favorite TV show, board game, season, animal? Paper or plastic? Jello or pickles? Lilly pads or mince meat pie? The tango or the salsa? Any other random tidbits you want to tell me about yourself?

Even if you don't want to answer all of this stuff on here, feel free to PM it to me. I'd love to hear from you! Or, just PM me for any other reason you may have, if you're a little shy concerning your stand on pickles vs. jello.

Also, a big site like this can be confusing when you first come. I was completely inept and it took me several weeks just to find the Welcome Mat - I believe this shows you're that much smarter than me? - so if you have any questions, any questions at all, feel free to PM me, or any of the people whose names are green (this means they're mods and are here to help). I would love you hear from you. Really. No one actually PMs questions, though I'm completely serious about wanting to hear from people... including you!

Most of the stuff i write is pretty depressing. It looks very messed up coming from a twelve year old.
What a shame,

hey Melinda- I love indie music too! My favourites are The Decemberists, the New Pornographers (clean, honest!) Amanda Palmer, Neko case, Of Montreal...

Anyway, my name's Nutty and I'm here to invite you to join a storybook run by our very own Griffinkeeper- we are looking for writers and it looks like it will be a lot of fun!
If you don't know what storybooks are, that's no problem, as this one is pretty much anything goes. Create a character and get writing! Here is a link, if you are interested- Griff's Storybook.
Hope to see you around!
