Hey there! :)

Hello, my name's Dahlia/Crimson. I'm a girl of 13 (recently), who's an eager reader and writer. I'm a keen wolf lover, in fact, I love all canine's in general actually. I've been writing stories since I was about 6 and to be truly honest, most of the base lines of my stories haven't changed since then, I often take work from when I was younger and find some way to worm it into my stories some how.

I'm a proud Englander!

My current dream is to finish and publish a novel. It is called The Kirja (I have posted the first chapter here already, even though I am on chapter 7... xD). You can find more about it and its characters here, I would appreciate it if you became a member or posted on the feedback page;

The Kirja has got a slightly deeper meaning than first meets the eye, though it may take a keen one to find it. I mainly wrote it because when I was younger I had Necrophobia (which is a fear of death). I began writing The Kirja as a book for those who had the same 'condition' as I did. It's especially hard if you are an atheist, like myself, to deal with the concept of death, since there isn't really a place that you can go to. That's why I wrote the Kirja, it contains many of my ideas of where you go, and what happens, all in the pages of a children's book.

Hers is about Street Dogs living in the city under the ruling of a Greyhound named Razor. Ruby (a Black Labrador) and her friends are set on finding a way of defeating him and getting the peace back into the city that they once called home.


Well, that's enough about writing I suppose... more about me?

I'm very interested in computers, especially Html and what not. I'm not particularly skilled in that area of ICT, but I did have a crack at learning it when I was 9 or 10. It has in fact come very handy on many occasions.

I also love music, mostly Pop, but I do listen to Rock sometimes, since my sister is a drummer in a Rock Band. (yeaah, she cool xD)

I do very much look forward to getting to know some more of the people on this site, and maybe even make some friends!

Edit: Just read over this extremely boring, long winded post and realised how much more boring and long winded it was than I first thought. x.x I'm not usually this boring, I promise!

YWS is not only a great place to post your pieces, but to review others' pieces as well! That's pretty much how you get reviews. And how you get points, which you can use to do a lot of things. Mainly you need points to post your work. :] But YWS is more than that, too! You can visit the chat room, the lounge and time wasting area, as well as getting into a debate if you feel so inclined.

What authors do you like? What's your opinion on poetry? Are you a coffee drinker?

I guess I'll have to have a bit of a poke around the forums then, to discover more. I've never been very good at Critique, but I guess if I'm going to get very far here I'll have to have a shot at it!

Authors? Hmm, that's a toughie, but I'd say Erin Hunter (with Seekers) and David Clement Davies (with The Sight). Both the books in brackets inspired me to write The Kirja, (as well as all the Necrophobia that I blabbed about).

Hmm, my opinion on poetry... I often find 'good' poetry to be meaningless, but I mostly like it all the same. When I was younger I'd write a lot of poetry for school, or just for fun, but now I don't write it as much as I should.

Coffee? Bleh. xD When I was younger (like 4 or 5) I used to steal my mum's black coffee, but I can't stand it now.

And I'm fairly certain others ARE interested...just, people get busy. And since school's in session or is about to be...yeah. Patience is pretty key, I'm finding out. (I was a newbie too just a couple months ago, myself.)

Yeah, looking around is a great idea. It's amazing some of the things you'll find. :] As far as critique goes, no one starts out as being amazing. (Personally, I was so freaked out by reviewing because I'd never really reviewed before. What I did was I looked at a couple people's reviews, and for a little while, I mimicked those, and altered them to fit my style, until I had my own way of reviewing things.)

That's cool! Unfortunately, I haven't read anything by them. Yet.

Hahah sometimes I feel the same way about poetry. Though my creative writing teacher's given me a new perspective on it. :]

Wow! I've never met anyone who was originally into black coffee. My friend John convinced me to try some during a debate competition. He laughed so much at me 'cause I made a funny face, but then wanted more of his coffee. Hahaha. Anyway, I'll stop rambling about myself.

I think I'm sort of getting the hang of this Critique business. I practised on a couple of my friends pieces, which did prove to be a challenge at first...

Typically, after I wrote about me not writing poetry, I inspired myself to... write a poem! I can't put it on here yet due to my lack of points, but hopefully I will soon.

Your book sounds really interesting. I, too, am an atheist, or rather an agnostic, I suppose, so I can relate to your feelings. I will have to go find this and review it! *goes off to find story*

Reviewing gets much easier with practice, especially when you're commenting on something you really enjoyed. And it's always such a great feeling when you can say something complementary about someone's work.

I myself am an avid poetry reader and writer; in fact, I think those are the only forums I've posted writing in on here, though I'm trying to work up the energy to edit the first chapter of a 'tentative' novel.

That's fascinating... I've always wondered what sorts of things atheists believed in for the after death. I guess I always assumed that they would just die and that was the end of the story, but that doesn't seem to be the case! What sorts of thing happens in your story?

Hey there Snoink! Well, I didn't actually know what an atheist was until recently, so I never really wondered. xD It is quite hard though, with no heaven an' all. But there are different types of atheists who probably do believe/think/know that they're going to heaven.


Well, my story is a lot about reencarnation, and about wolves called Kirja. Basicly, in the story, when an animal spirit and an elemental spirit (fire, water, that sort of thing) try to enter a new body (ie, something being born) at the same time, a Power Creature is born. And if a Wolf Spirit and an Elemental Spirit both try and enter the same body, then a Power Wolf is born, also known as Kirja. These creatures look just like normal Wolves, but usually have strange colouring/markings and can use the element inside them to help them through life.
Lakea, the main character, is Kirja along with her brother Hail. However their sister True is a Non (not Kirja, just a normal wolf).

Long story short, Lakea is trying to find peace, Hail is trying to kill off the Nons and True really isn't sure.

xD Sorry that was so badly explained, it's almost two in the morning...

But here is the explanation on the website, it's sort of vague but I wrote it when I was fully awake so it probably makes more sense;


When a creature or element dies their soul is released from their body and flies into another as they are being born. But when an element soul and an animal soul try to enter the same body... something amazing happens. A Power Creature is born. Power Wolves (or Kirja, as they are more commonly known) are different from any normal wolf, they can see things that others cannot see and do things that others cannot do. And some can even be things that others cannot be.

Hey Crimsona! I'm Flower~Child, better known as Flower around here. I think you'll get the hang of things around here pretty fast, you seem to get the reviewing policy already haha. (Now I'm being boring) I went back up to your post after I read Snoiks comment, and was like how did I miss the whole Atheist thing haha. I really can't wrap my mind around all the details of the, would you call it faith? It would be cool to be able to understand. I am not a Atheist by the way...just curious haha.

Hm... have you read His Dark Materials (it's a book series)? I think you would really enjoy it. It's not quite what you've described here, but it's a lovely fantasy. Though, the first book is always the best.

I LOVE 'His Dark Materials'! Though I did find the last one slightly dissapointing and not as interesting as the first two. I have to agree with you that the first is the best and sadly the film does not do justice to it.
