Hi, my name is Julie. You can call me Julie, GoldenSkies, Golden, Skies, Popcorn... you know, whatever floats your boat. I'm 16, going to be a junior in high school. I'm not one of those people who've "been writing since I was 5!" I probably started writing around... 13 (I can't remember!), and I stopped about a year or so ago, for no particular reason. I've recently started writing, and I hope to improve. The story that is in my head but hasn't made it's way out yet is fantasy.

In my spare time (besides writing), I like to ride my horse, read, blog (I have my own book blog), and surf the Internet. I enjoy being outdoors a lot... umm, I'm a country girl. When I really want to be an equine vet and work at the races in Kentucky. If that doesn't work, I want to be a large animal vet. If that fails then I want to be an all-around vet (my word for small and large animal vet). And if that fails, then I'll probably go into publishing or something along those lines.

So that's it for now. Sorry if I bored you! xD

Well hi!

My friend's father worked at the races as a vet. He absolutely loved it. Now he rehabs racehorses (and sheep and a three-legged donkey named Jethro).

Take a look around, and don't be shy about posting something you've written--I would love to read some of your stuff!

Welcome to YWS, Skies!

I'm Pink :)
I also haven't been writing since I was "5". I was even later than 13, maybe 16? I don't remember. Anyways, that's really neat you want to be a vet, I love animals but I find myself incapable of touching them because fear gets the best of me.
By the way, I've always wanted to ride a horse! You're so lucky :D

So, what kind of genre do you like to read? Write? What's your favorite movie? Book? How about author? (Yes, we love questions!)
If you need any help or have any questions feel free to pm me, I'll help you out :3
I hope you have fun here and as Shepherd said, don't be afraid to post!

Hi, Golden! (I really like your username, by the way) Welcome to YWS! Are you enjoying it so far?

You have a horse? That's really awesome. What kind is it? I used to love to ride horses when I was about eight or nine, but we had to cancel because we couldn't afford lessons anymore (I'm a city girl). You like to blog? That's cool. You know you can have your own blog here, right? Just look at the blogs tab in the header. You can even design it just the way you want. Any favorite genres or authors?

Anyway, hope you have a wonderful time on the site, and feel free to drop me a PM if you need anything.

Shepherd - That sounds like a really awesome job to have! Thanks!

Pink - I read mostly fantasy/sci-fi/dystopian stuff, but I love all genres! I write fantasy-ish stuff. :) My favorite author is Richelle Mead the current moment, but it changes from time to time. I don't watch much TV or movies, but one of the ones I have watched is The Horse Whisperer and I absolutely love it!

Kit - That's cool! My writing has been off and on. If that makes sense.

Elinor - Thanks so much! I'm really enjoying the site so far! My horse is a quarter/draft horse. He's an ex-barrel horse. I wish I could take lessons because I know very little about horse stuff, but I still haven't talked my parents into that one. I'll have to check out the blogs, sounds cool! Technically I have no favorite genre, but I have a thing for fantasy and things related to it.
