Okay. I'd like to say sorry. My crazy cousin is sleeping over and when I went to the bathroom she decided to change my classes a bit. *rolls eyes* I'm not actually taking advanced trig. I suck at math. I'm also not taking Journalism and I'm not taking Spanish. She sort of rolled my schedule and hers into one. *rolls eyes again*

Holy WOW! You guys seem to have tons of options at school. We just had the regular Math, English (Functional or Communicative. I picked communicative,) Languages(Hindi, Tamil, French, German, and a bazillion more Indian lingos,) Chem, Phys, Bio, Biotech, Computer Science & Programming besides the commerece/business related subjects. :/

Shepherd, I totally love the 'Thinking in Math' subject. I must look it up. Sounds way awesome!

Snoink, Ah, I will have them, in about a year or so. ( *Genes!Squee!*) I have Ethics next sem, unless I can pust it to the one after that. This year, as in 2010? Awesome! Whatcha planning to do after graduation?

So, this semester I have:

1.Biochemistry + Lab Woot! I love this subject.

2.BioOrganic Chem + Lab Well, this is only slightly different from Biochem. It focuses more on mechanisms and such.

3.Cell Biology + Lab Well, the name pretty much says it all.

4.Principle Of Chemical Enginering This is an interesting subject. Only problem is, our professor is an awful, cow-faced, sadistic thing.

5.Environmental Engineering 1 On how to be responsible, dealing with toxins and general crap.

6.Math - Fourier Series, transforms and Partial Differentials Math is always fun. Though next sem, it'll get better as I'm taking 'Probability'

Oh! All your subjects sound so fascinating, at least the names. I just have maths, history, social studies, and those languages left. Oh, and music, haha. I'm done with biology, geography, RE (religious education), PE, chemistry, physics (YES), arts, and health studies. So yeah. Those are the classes offered (and there is a certain number of each that you have to take), but I only have a fraction left.

In my first and second year, though, I also took some elective ones -- one was a drama sort of improvisation class, one was a photography one, and one was a drama one where we made a musical. That was fun. There are some funky classes as well, like scuba diving! Or this bat-watching class where all the lessons were at midnight, haha. Never took those ones, though.

I'm only taking two classes at the college this year, Math 111 and Biology 211. I'm really looking forward to Bio, as this will tell me whether I'm going to pursue a career as a veterinarian or not.

@Ninja DUDE! We call homeroom advisory in my middle school *remembers she doesn't go to that school anymore and starts to cry* I DON'T WANNA BE A HIGHSCHOOLER D:

@Lava- *snort* We have pratically NO options. Other schools have language choices like german and italtian. What do we have? Spanish and French -_-

Jeez, all your classes sound so flipping cool! Ours are so traditional...

So I go back to my boarding school on the 1st September. It'll be my final year there- Sixth Year, and as such some cool things will happen. I'm a Prefect and the sort of Head-Girl this year, and I'll be sharing a room with just one other friend, who is also a Prefect and the joint head of our boarding house. So we have a pretty high ranking room. I don't know how well it'll work out with just the two of us, but it should be fine.

As my last year, I end with what we affectionately call the BSQ or Big Summer Quiz, aka the Leaving Cert. All pupils must take English, Irish, Maths and one modern European language, then as many subjects as they want on top of that- you're judged on your best six, so I'm taking seven. They are as follows:

English- So I'm guessing we all love English, yes? I'll be going over Hamlet in more detail this year, and doing some poetry and working on composition. I generally love English class, but English isn't streamed in my school, so my classmates make it very slow going.

Irish- I'm doing Higher Level Irish which is a pain, but I also kinda like it. And I love our class, there's four girls in it and no boys. We drink tea and gossip with the teacher whenever we get bored.

Maths- Meh, I'll take it or leave it. I quite like it when I understand it- but my friend has dropped to Ordinary Level which means I'll have no one to sit next to!

French- Blergh. I just have never, ever liked French class. I don't know what it is about this subject. I like the language, but French class? Agony.

Biology- Wonderful! We'll be doing mostly human biology this year which, as someone planning on studying medicine I, like, LOVE.

Chemistry- Fantastic! It's very difficult, but we have a brilliant teacher and we all help each other out after class as well. Plus it's a totally fascinating subject.

History- Great! But the only other girl in my class is thinking of dropping, so I'll be the only girl with twelve boys. Not that I mind, I don't sit with her anyway. We're doing America 1949-1983 or something and Ireland 1916-1941 or something like those dates as our modules. Which I'm looking forward to.

Oh, and clubs? I'm head of the Shakespeare Society this year, and joint-head of the Debate Society. I've relinquished my crown as editor of the school newspaper because I can't keep up with it as well as my work and all my other obligations, but I'll still write for it, if they'll have me.

And... that's it!

@Lava: Yeah, Photography is part of our fine arts. At my school, we have to have one fine arts credit to graduate. Photo is worth 1/2 credit, Film is the other half.

Oh, I forgot that part. I start school 1st September as well, which I've found isn't very common in the US. Other schools I've been to have already been in session for a week or so. O_O

Stell, for some reason, you remind me of Malory Towers (in a good way )

Spork, fine arts is so awesome! We never had such electives and fine arts was always reduced to instrumental, carnatic/hindustani vocals and Bharatnatyam(dance.) I would lurrve to minor in photography, if there existed such a course.

Dems, scuba-diving? Sweet! You should've gone for that! (There was this article on why Finnish education's one of the best in Reader's Digest a few months back. Maybe that's why! XD )

I'm both really excited to start school this year, and dreading it. I have no English classes! At all! I'm dying. I got maths, since it's my last class to get my BA, and then I'm just taking a bunch of classes online - partly to see how I handle them, since one of the masters programs I'm looking at is entirely online. So I'm doing intro to geology, intro to american music/cultures (I have no idea what this entails, but whatevs, right?), and library research skills. Not entirely sure what the last one entails, either, but I figured if I know everything already, it'll be really good review! If not, I'll get to learn something interesting! Ok, interesting to me. AND. I get to do the technical theatre class! This, I could not be more excited about! I really wanted to do this at uni before I graduated, but I never had time/room in my schedule, so now that I'm home and I get to take some fun classes before grad school, I can!

The big drawback? I'm not sure how well I'll handle not having a lit. class of any kind. They're my therapy, and I love writing papers and analyzing lit., so this could be really stressful. That, and it's the second semester in a row I'm going doing music performance since I was in fifth grade. It drove me batty last semester at uni, and while I'll at least be able to play, it's not the same. But once again, the class interferes with other things - major classes last semester, and work this semester. Thus, anyone who wants to talk about English classes and lit. stuff, hit me up! I'll shrivel up and die, otherwise. True story. Like, that Hamlet thing? So there

Stells, it still sounds fantastical and fun! Lol.

Ooh and now, that's one more way to say 'hi!' I now have a total of ten different ways of saying 'hello.'
