The mice of Doriant are living their tiny lives in fear. King Kutch has fallen gravely ill, and at such a time... the mice are being ravaged by owls, it's the middle of war. Worse yet, a famine has spread across the land, including the Kingdom (abandoned farm) of Doriant.
The mice had once lived on the first story of the old abandoned farmhouse, but were forced upstairs to the only safe room left. It was once a master bedroom, and is now being reconstructed to become the city and the palace itself.
Outside the farmhouse, things aren't nearly so dangerous. The owls have left the farmers alone for the most part, though none can say why. The food-source is, however, dwindling and the farmers are losing their livestock.
And so the war between owl and mouse is raging, a famine is spreading, and the king is dying. The upside to all of this madness is that the city in the master bedroom has been nearly restored and the knights are fighting with bravery. Welcome to the life of a mouse...
Things to know:
The only way out and in of the city is by the vines by the window on the side of the house. They are facing the barns, field and the pond.
Here, rather than riding horses, the mice ride birds to war and for every-day transportation. Frog-races (in which the mice will actually ride the frogs) are a common public pass-time. These take place on the track inside the barns.
Though the fields are supposedly safe, the mice have switched from above-surface grass nests to below-surface burrows. It can be more difficult to keep track of livestock this way, but it's much better than being eaten.
Inside the master bedroom, the nobels live in the higher places and the commoneres live in the lower places.
The mice still venture from indoors to outdoors, though everybody is issued to stay inside after night falls.
The mice wear clothes, though no pants. Tunics, dresses, capes, robes, ect...
The owls are from the forest that is just outside the barbed-wire fence. (Though there is very little of the fence that is still standing)
Areas:
The Master Bedroom: This is where the major part of the mouse-city is being re-constructed. The castle will be high in the lofts (there is one on either side of the room) and the rafters are to be the halls.
The school for the mouselings is to the left of the fireplace, made of old suitcases that have been sewn together, with holes chewed through them for doors. tables, desks, chairs, all of that school stuff is made of bits and pieces of everything.
The fire-place has been cleaned out, and now has lots of tinier fire-pits for keeping the room warm, cooking, and working with metals (creating weapons, ect)
The rest of the room is odds and ends, nests, houses, ect... Nobels have the higher areas, commoners have the lower.
Under the bed is the downtown area. Markets, little gathering areas, ect...
Spoiler

The Pond: This is where a few "water farmers" live in mouse-constructed "houseboats." They raise fish for food, as well as frogs for sport-riding. The owls rarely harass the mice here.

The Fields: This is where a few "famer" mice work to raise insects. Different types of insects are for different things. Some provide meat, others provide labour that the birds couldn't accomplish, and some provide pets. There is also the frog-racing course here, in a small cleared out area.
Barns: This is a training grounds for the knights, as well as where flying and frog-riding lessons take place. The 'cool' mouslings have a tendancy to hang out here, too.
