Hello, everyone,

As my posting here on this board would suggest, I'm new! And glad to be here.

I write fantasy and pseudo sci-fi, novel length. My current project is fantasy to the core, presently untitled, and likely to remain untitled until about 4 in the morning the one day I can sleep in. I don't think I'll be posting any of it, though, nor anything else, because I'm mainly here to critique! I enjoy reading and reviewing other people's work, and if you ever need someone to help you figure out this character or that plot, I'm your gal.

I'm 19, hail from the United States, and Rachael Elg is not my real name, just in case you were wondering.

I look forward to getting to know this site and some of you.

Now onto the particulars.

2. Yay sci-fi! My last novel was a sci-fi. Kind of. Fantasy in sci-fi's clothing. I miss that novel terribly but it couldn't be helped. He went off and got finished, last word and all. Sob.

3. Critiquing's my game and... Rachael's my name? Don't wear it out? I think I have that mangled.

And I love mods! And I do have a question for you, actually. Which is, how would you, oh wise one, recommend finding my first piece to critique? I've found the right sections and all, but, since I don't know anyone here, I am twiddling my thumbs and wondering where to begin.

:O Tea: yes. Iced or hot: I can provide both. Sugar, honey, milk, none - I have all of the above! Oddly enough.

My suggestion for finding things to review would be to review things that have 0 or 1 reviews! It's the best way because works without reviews are sad. We actually have a handy tool for this. If you hover your mouse over the "Read/Write" menu, there's a list item named Recent Additions. Hover over that, and you'll see "Recent Additions", "Works with 0 comments", and "works with 1 comment". That's where I always start!

Don't worry, you'll make friends quickly We're a nice bunch! (Disclaimer: I can not speak for every member of this community. Some people are really grouchy!)

If they're grouchy, they apparently haven't had their tea.

Which, for the record, I like double strength, iced even in winter, with nothing mixed in.

And oh, that is handy! I come from a small forum (less than a dozen regulars) and so all this technology is a little fascinating. (Mommy! What does the red button do? Destroy the world? DUDE!)

I'm Durrie, and I write Fantasy too. It's really cool to hear that you love reviewing, and because of that fact people will love you, lol. You seem very humorous and patient You'll fit right it! (Most of us are lazy, but I think you and Snoink will hit it off. She's the reviewing queen here)

If you ever post a work, I think others will jump on it like jackles but if you ever need a review, someone to join a Storybook (RPG), a group or an outsider's opinion, just PM me. I'd be pleased to. Welcome into the YWS family!! I can't wait to see you around the site.
