oh my bad I didn't notice that. Sorry. =P But no, actually, I was gonna mention it later but I decided I'll go ahead and let you know since we're all in this together. The dragon gets it's color from the egg shells. Warriors and wizards each get weapons made from the egg shells of their hatched dragons. Dragon eggs are made from the hardest material know to man and can cut through anything. Also they're imbued with powerful magical properties. A magi would get a staff that has a piece of the shell embedded in the wood. For warriors the blades of their swords are made from the shell. So if your dragon is say black and your a warrior you'll have a black blade. For Magi the wood changes color to reflect the color of your dragon.

Name: Allon/ Fell-Fire (Red)

Age:13

Gender: male

Appearence: Image

Kingdom: Aymir

Personality: Takes the road of a Dragon Rider seriously. His parents are nobles in Aymeth. If it hadn't been for the choosing he'd be trapped in the boring life of a noble. Allon is eager for an adventure and quick fame. His goal is to become known as the Grand Mage.

Class set: Magi

Skills: He's good with elemental magic particularly fire and flying Fell-Fire...and fishing. Getting in to fights he can't win.

Weaknesses: sucks at Spiritus magic and Alchemy. And hand to hand combat has never been his forte'

Up for love?: sure.

Name: Maeve/Aithne (teal but the tip of her tail is dark blue )

Age:(13-19) 13

Gender: Female

Appearence:
Spoiler
Image

Kingdom: Wolestand

Personality: Maeve takes the meaning of her name seriously (mythical queen), she believes that she is destined for greatness and will stop at nothing to reach it. Many people take her self confidence and optimism the wrong way. They usually think of her as arrogant, and rude by looking at her, but she is one of the sweetest, most protective people you will ever meet. Once Maeve connects with someone/something, she will never betray them. Her looks are deceiving, she is able to persuade people to her will easily, and is very sneaky.

Class set: Magi

Skills: Maeve is very persuasive and is a fast thinker and runner. She has a inseparable bond with her dragon. Never underestimate her she is a force to be messed with.

Weaknesses: Maeve loses focus very easily and it is hard for her to stay completely still. She also isn't to fond of darkness.

Up for love?: Yep.

Other: She has a tatoo on her lower back.

OKay we have enough people lets start. The opening posts will be us meeting each other for the first time on the Blackthorn. (Forkinshadow you can still post the profile for your second character. Last paladin I went ahead and allowed Mantius to have two female entries it just means their won't be any male freshmen from the kingdom. Also, it'd be cool if you used that in the story. =P)

here's an idea of what the ship looks like.

~ Allon

Allon peeked over the edge of the ghostly ship and reveled in the sting of salt water as the waves crash against starboard side. The night time view was beautyful, the moon looked like a Blue ball resting between two clouds. Allon rested his head on the decomposed railing. He could get used to this.

"Enjoying the view?"

Allon jumped. He hadn't expected the sudden company even though he'd known there were seven other people on board with him.

"You could say that. Who're you?"

There seemed like nothing to do but talk to someone. I was curled up against the side of the ship, my eyes following the grain of wood, and I noticed someone step on the lines I was following. I looked up at them, expectant. Who would want to talk to me? Maybe I looked lonely. No, I was OK, though I loved to talk, right now didn't seem like one of those days. I just wanted sleep. I looked away from them at the locket around my ankle, and I opened to reveal a picture of my parents. They sat next to me, looking at the locket so I closed it with a sigh.

Tiaan

"I'm Tiaan, you're cute." she giggled at his reaction.

"You know I love the sea, if I wanted to I'd jump in the ocean and swim right now."

The boy just gaped.

Laughing a little she closed her eyes smelling the beautiful sea air soak her face. Ah a Pirate's Life for me she thought. Though it was night and there were next to no noise she heard the neighing of the white horses, heard the water singing it's sacred song.

Sighing she waved slowly to the Island in the distance. This was an honour.

In the distance she then heard the sound, the song of the whales. It's a good omen. Smiling she hugged the boy before skipping off, "Goodbye silly."

This was going to be so fun.

I tucked a braid behind my ear. I had decided to brush my hair out (shocker) and put the longer bits into thin braids. I had tied the most obvious one with a thin red ribbon and put a silver loop the cartilage of my ear- just to show Mantian pride.

Another girl was skipping away from a black haired boy. I thought she looked annoying, but that was just me. I smirked. On Papa's ship, she would've been tossed the second we docked. But I knew she was from Mantius, so I guessed she had that part under control. Unless the ship she sailed on was less strict then Papa's.

I missed Papa's ship. I missed sailing. I didn't know why I even went along with this; heaven knows I'd much rather be sailing. I saw someone kick the side of the ship and immediately wanted to hurt them. My people made this ship! One of my own! I seethed. I climbed up the ropes, ignoring several gasps from below, and sat on one of the sail-supports. That's what I had named them, the first time I had sailed.

I tilted my head back and let cool, fine mist collect on my skin, and dampen my clothes. I kept my legs tucked up and leaned against the mast.

Ocean mist and sitting on sails; the ultimate cool-down.

I walked around the deck of the ship. There wasn't really anything to do. I noticed a girl standing by herself at the back of the ship. Since I had nothing to do, I went to go talk to her. It's not like I had any friends on this boat, but why not start making some.

She was looking out into the ocean, watching the waves. I walked over to her side and did the same. It was silent for a while, but I finally spoke.

"So, do you like the sea?" I asked her.

She sighed, then smiled. "Sort of."

"I'm not a big fan of it. Once, when I went on a cruise, I puked." I said. The girl laughed. "So what's your name?"

"Maeve." she said.

"That's a pretty name." I said. She looked at me and smiled.

"Thanks." she said.

"No problem. By the way, my name's Emmett."

"Nice to meet you Emmett." she said.

"You too." I said. We both looked back to the sea and watched silently.

Okay... One thing: Do we have our dragons yet, and if so, where are they?

Jocasta Redwolf:

The sea churned, throwing salty spray into my face and cool wind blew in from my left as I leant on the railing. I stared at the water and then looked up at the moon, full and round. It was actually somewhat peaceful on the ship. And an honour. I was gonig to the academy.

I smiled to myself and went back to watching the waves crash against the ship's hull. I felt....calm, peacful. I wasn't nervous and I wasn't scared. Huh, time would tell if that changed. I glanced over my shoulder. The others were off doing their own thing, maybe I wouldn't be disturbed?

Footsteps sounded against the wood, coming towards me. I hesitated. I didn't want to be disturbed, but if was gonig to happen, it was going to happen. And then I sighed, turning to face the newcomer. It was a boy, one who happened to be from Aymir. I groaned and rolled my eyes. Attention already. Annoying.

"Oh, great," I muttered and leaned back on the railing, watching him.

"You look bored," he said. He's a noble, I thought, narrowing my eyes at him. Pity I was only a peasant.

I watched the black haired boy approach the girl with a faint smirk. See, I very rarely smiled. I usually smirked. It was my thing. I carefully slithered down the rope I had come up on and leaned over the side of the boat, gazing wistfully at the choppy dark blue water.

A silver fish leapt from the water. I held back a little gasp- I hadn't seen a fish like that in months, since my last trip. Papa had pointed it out with a smile, his salt-and-pepper beard tickling my cheek as he leaned over my shoulder. I smiled and tied a red kerchief over my head; my hair still showed, but now I felt even more like I was still home.

I held a cupped hand out and caught a spray of water that ran over my forearm and slipped through my fingers as I spread them. I pulled my hand back and ran my fingers through what hair I could, leaving streaks of saltwater in my hair. Perfect. I was exactly as I would be on the sea with Papa and my brothers, and the rest of the crew.

"Like the ocean, I see." someone said behind me.

Oh, wonderful. Company.

Tiaan

Seeing a new person she skipped over, watching as the girl carefully tied a handkerchief round her forehead. She tilted her head inquisitively, her pigtails bobbing about. Waiting a bit she continued looking at thei girl rather curiously, then it struck her, smiling loudly she asked mirth in her voice, "Like the ocean, I see?"

The whales were still singing she could hear them, and for a bit she forget where she was, as the song entranced her fully. If it hadn't been for her Daddy nature she'd not be here, but he demanded pretty much that she could enter the academy. His daughter deserved more than any of the weak sea sick squirts we had to call boys here.

She did feel he was being unfairly harsh.

It wasn't long ago Tiaan had her first kiss, on the rocks as ocean whipped and try to tear them apart, in a storm, he was only a bit older than her and that moment had been the best and most amazing experience ever.

The girl looked up annoyed before sighing and saying, "Could say 'at."

Tiaan nodded, "I know who you are, your Father was one of the last pirates to finally get his landlegs." Not waiting for answer she continued, "I'm Tiaan Brac'lle my father was 'The Shark', one of the most ruthless pirate captains this corner of the Manitius.

Grinning she drew a short sword, "Now I've your attention, I could give you a lesson that could save your life."

I watched with an uninterested eye as the other Mantius girl drew her sword. I cocked an eyebrow and wrapped a hand around the hilt of my scimitar. It had been my mother's, and since none of my brothers wanted a girl's sword, I had gotten it. I found it just as effective as any of theirs.

Her pigtails were uneven.

That was the first thing I noticed; rather odd. I wasn't usually one for the neat-freakiness. But growing up on a ship where so much as an unlaced boot could get you tossed, I guess it was built into my system. Papa's... a perfectionist. SHe said her dad was the most fearsome in that corner? Well, he was that in ours. I was glad we'd never had to battle. That would be weird, and bad.

WHOA. Did I just ramble?

Weird.

"Right then, the lesson?" I asked the girl, trying not to come off as cold.

"Right."

Tiaan

Hiding no happiness she swung the sword in low arc, before lifting her leg and kicking her knee cap hard. The girl glared, in reply she said, "I forgot to mention this is how you fight dirty, and trust me you need to know this."

Watching carefully, she strafed around before slamming her pommel into the girls ribs. It was obvious girl was getting really annoyed at being a punching bag.

Deciding to stop she continued demonstration on the wood work, sweeping carefully and cunningly doing back stabs and use every part of the sword.

The girl stood up groaning in pain from being struck in ribs, "I see."

The day, which was one of the first of spring, cheered even me by the loveliness of its sunshine and the balminess of the air. I felt emotions of gentleness and pleasure, that had long appeared dead, revive within me. Half surprised by the novelty of these sensations, I allowed myself to be borne away by them, and forgetting my solitude and deformity, dared to be happy.
