Hey.

I'm Lia (yes, I'm a girl).

I write song lyrics and (occasionally) poetry.

I'm addicted to sci-fi novels, and other stuff mixed in. I love Kurt Vonnegut, Chuck Palahniuk, and Cormac McCarthy.

I listen to a lot of music, and I play guitar and drums.

Hope to see you around, I guess.

Hiya, Lia! :D

Welcome to YWS! I'm SporkPunk. Call me Sporks or something to that effect. xD There are some FAQ threads and a welcome message here in the welcome area. Do check them out, they can be a huge help at first. Also, there is a questions forum if you have questions about anything. :)

I like sci-fi and Chuck Palahniuk too!

There are lots of cool places to check out, and a ton of different things to do. You can post things in the community forums which are here and lit works in the literary forums which are here. You can also check out the live chat and meet plenty of awesome users.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM a mod, they're the ones with the green usernames. :D

Welcome again!

Hello Lia, the names Greed, you can call me...well...Greed. Sporks seems to have covered all of the basics so I'll do a simple welcome...Welcome!!! I'm new as well and find it very cool that you play guitar. I've always wanted to learn, but never have the time. Let me know when you post some lyrics, I'd love to read them. I'm a bit of a musician myself, though I'm more into the classical forum myself, but love all kinds of music. Love to hear from ya!

Hey, Starmaker! :D Welcome, welcome, welcome to Young Writers Society!

Have you read the Host by Stephanie Meyer? Her other books, the Twilight series, were okay in my opinion, but The Host beats them all in my opinion. If you haven't read it already, I recommend it. It's going to be made into a movie soon.

I love reading sci-fi, so if you post something feel free to PM me to review it! I'm currently working on a sci-fi short story myself and if I'll post it I'll before to do the same for you and PM you. ^_^ It's about people having a license to have kids and those with licenses rise to the top of the food-chain. Those without them are seen as social lepers and are discriminated. I actually got the idea from the Debate Group here on YWS. If you haven't joined a group already, I would also like to recommend doing so.

Anyway, let's get to know you even more!

~What's your favorite type of poetry?

~Do you play any sports?

~What book are you currently reading?

~If you could buy anything, what would you buy?

Okay, I think that's good. If you want to chat or have a question, feel free to PM me any time!

Sporks- Hi, thanks for welcoming me. Chuck Palahniuk is amazing.

Greed- Will do. Guitar isn't too hard to play. It's quite fun, though.

Selene- I love experimental poetry, like, stuff that goes a bit outside the box. I run cross-country and I box. I'm reading Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce. It's great, albeit a bit confusing. If I could buy anything...it would probably be a graphics tablet, like, a really good one. Or, a new guitar to replace my old acoustic.

Vonnegut is awesome! And I love sci fi.

Also, I think I am in love with Wacom Intuos 4 Bluetooth tablet. That is, I haven't bought it yet, but I want to! It's so sexy... I want it! My other tablet's cord is breaking. So yeah.

Anyway, welcome to YWS! If you need any help, feel free to bother me. :)
