Like it says, where'd the inspiration for your username come from?

I've always wondered why someone has a certain number, random letter, capitalization, or symbol in their username--now you can enlighten me! :D

For me, I got the "Ranger" part from the Ranger's Apprentice series, and the "Hawk" part from the band Hawk Nelson, which used to be my favorite band. They sound pretty good together, if I do say so myself. :)

When I was wee little lad I used to day dream lot, I still do but whatever. At the time my day dreams were more of a TV show. It involved me and my two best friends, ad we were super heroes. I could control electricity, and dubbed myself Voltageman. As I grew older I eventually took to liking the letter B more, having lightning Bolts be Blue and all, and thought Boltageman sounded better. And being as those day dreams are the reason I started writing I figured I'd use Boltageman as my username. I realized after I hit enter how lame it was, but I forgot.

People started calling me Boltage, though, so when I discovered you could change your name, I cut off the man and went to Boltage. and then people cut the Age off and called me Bolt. Which I changed it to, again.

That is the story of Bolt.

When I registered I was listening to "Mariella" by Kate Nash, and the song mentions a Pritt stick, which is a brand of gluestick.
I remember this because I joined YWS very recently. :P Like, three days ago.

I made my name up. Seriously. Nobody has been called Master_Yoda yet to date. So, no inspiration really.

I came up with Rosey Unicorn a loooong time ago, when I first joined an online forum. I tossed over various names and I wanted something that I liked yet felt like me. I'd always loved pink, and I have always loved unicorns. And since roses have a pretty side and a sharp side, a bit like me, I took "Rosey Unicorn" ^_^

I almost joined YWS under "Shadow Lynx" because Lynx are secret keepers (don't ask) and I love shadows. But I figured I'd keep my happy side visible online instead of my slightly dark side. :P More as a personal reminder than anything.

You can change your username? :?

Hehe, I told you that you had thorns, Rosey. :P

My username came after a bit of pondering and being too shy to use a uniquely strange one. So I figured that I was an aspiring author like any other writer and that became the first half of my username. The A and M after it came from me thinking of a digital clock. Before the sun has crosssed in Latin, the meaning of the initiaisl A.M. The two periods between the A and M was just a typo. ;)

My original name, Arahnia Siddel, came from one of ultraviolet's worlds. It was the main characters diary name. She ended up editing it out and I used it! My second name, Calligraphy, I thought of when I was reading the book The View From Saturday by E.L. Conigsburg. Noah's grandmother said "Calligraphy, it means beautiful writing." I just thought that was an awesome definition because it reminded me of both calligraphy and beautiful writing (novels, poems, extra.)

When I first started using the internet, I needed a name for a site. The site suggested that you could use your favourite animal followed by your favourite number. At the time those were cats and 15, hence kitty15. I think I was about nine or so but it sort of stuck. I just kept using it on site after site.

My username on TWS is Rydia. That's because my sister and I named our main characters of our joint novel in light of ourselves. I chose Lotus as the surname for mine because I wanted it to be a flower name to reflect Heather and I've always liked the serenity of lotus flowers. Then I was looking for a character name for a game a year or so later and I discovered Rydia which a site misinformed me was Greek for lotus on water. I later found out it was rose pettles on still water and also the name of a final fantasy character. But I kept it because it's cool.

Mine is an old nickname from high school.

I'm not terribly creative, so I use it on the internet as well! =)

When deciding what to change my name to from "ThornedRose", I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon with real, name-type usernames. My full first name is Eleanore, but I absolutely loathe the spelling. :P I remembered reading something on the back of a DVD at blockbuster--one of the characters was called Elinor. Since I wasn't about to use my real last name, I took my middle name. I figured, "Elinor" looked good with "Brynn" so I went with it.

When I joined YWS, I was a huge fan of Cats the musical, and my favourite character in it was called Demeter. Technically it comes from T. S. Eliot, since the musical is just his poems with music.

Most people think my name is after the goddess. But to be honest, before I joined YWS, I didn't even know that a goddess Demeter existed.
