Had to draw this for school, art. It was a photo of a Statue (not sure what one, its of a person), each person got a different image and had to draw it. Heres mine:
So, as far as shading and technique goes, I think this is wonderful. However, I’m guessing that the assignment involved only drawing part of a larger image because this really doesn’t look like much. Maybe it’s just part of a statue’s hip and the bottom of their outfit.
Still, as far as shading and technique go, you’ll do great on the assignment.

I thought it was lovely! My main problem was that I couldn't see more of it... but oh well!
Also! I loved the bit on the side with the black and white shading colors... I thought that was fantastic! I am kind a bad artist who really has no sense of organizational skills, so the fact that you would actually do something like that was amazing and something that I will probably do soon.

Hey there Waterlilygirl! You've done a pretty nice job so far, but I think it could still be improved. For one, the shadows on the fabric, while having a really nice shape, are still a bit too rough. A good practice for this is to just drape a sheet of cloth over a chair or something like that, and look at what the shadows look like, or even just at clothes left hanging: the edges of the shadows are usually smoother and blend more in. I'd suggest just using your finger or a tissue to smudge the dark parts a bit, just so the grey is more uniform and the lines are less apparent. Also, the line where the leg meets the hip is a bit too dark; there's usually not that much of a shadow there. Try softening it just a little bit, I think it'll look a bit more natural.
