How much do you read?

:smt006 Hi.

I've been wondering this for quite a while now. I'm interested in how many books my fellow YWSers actually read. I'd also like to know when you guys really started to love reading. Have you always loved it since you can remember, or do you remember when you really began to like it?

I feel bad about this, but I don't actually read all that much. I like reading, of course. I just don't really think that I read as often and as much as I should. For example, I'm not reading anything at the moment. I haven't read anything since February, to be completely honest. I know it's bad because reading really does help improve your writing, plus it's relaxing and enjoyable. Maybe it's just because I'm lazy... The only time when I constantly read is when I'm on holiday. I read loads then!

So yeah, how often do you read? What makes you want to read? :)

Do you constantly have a book on the go? Or do you read when you notice a book that looks good in the store? Or maybe you pick up books that are sequels to books that you already like? I want to know!

Thanks for reading, guys.

xoxo Rhian

I've loved to read since I can remember. Recently, I haven't been reading as much because I've been busy with school. And I've had a lot of required reading for my english class. But! I have a load of books I want to read and plan on reading a ton this summer.

My dad read to my sister and I since I was a wee thing. I read books more frequently than writing, and certaintly it seems these days, than watching T.V. A good book will transfix, and totally screw with your imagination and mind. xD

I've always loved to read. I learned to read (or at least memorize... :smt002 ) before I started pre-k. I read almost non-stop. In fact I get into more trouble for reading in class than for anything else!

I read a lot. I'll always have a book or two on the go, as it were. Sometimes I'll just be reading one book, other times I'll be reading three. I read quickly as well. Today I've read one book and a bit, although both of them were pretty thin.

I was always really ... odd as a child. Bordering autistic, actually. I needed everything to be ordered and controlled. I only started to calm down when I could read and write for myself - because that was taking control. Ever since then I've been a rather avid reader. :D

My family and friends think I read too much, but I don't think so, though. Haha. xD
This year I've read 19 books. 6966 pages. But I love to read. And I love English books. They're the best.

I always have at least one book on the go. I'm keeping a tally this year, mainly because I entered a challenge at the start of the year to see how many classics I can read before the year is up (sadly, I've only done about 7/100!!), but I'm keeping tabs on the others that I read too. I've done at least 20 altogether this year!!

I love reading. Absolutely love it. My family never sees me without a book in my face. Sometimes I don't even come down to dinner if it's a good book. XD.

I am reading constantly, but I very rarely finish books. I read them (voraciously) until I feel as though I know what's going to happen, and then I stop. I can't stand the awful feeling of having finished a book: there really is NO MORE to the story!

Same thing for me I haven't read anything since February. I'm a very fast reader, but even though I visit the library I usually leave empty handed. Most of the time I just cannot find a book series that seems appealing, but when I do I will speed read through them all excitedly. Right now it would seem that I'm in a limbo waiting for the next books in a few different series. Two examples are the third installment in the Hunger Games Trilogy and the last Vladimer Todd book.

I hated reading. And I mean hated it. Till I got to 6th grade, I would throw a book at you, if you made me read it. Then we finally read an interesting book in school, and so I read some other books by the author, and so on and so on. Haven't read that much this year though, couldn't find any good books. But, now I have a list of about 50 for the summer.

Let me put it this way: in my school's reading contest, I won by setting a new record. 12 hours of reading. In one day.

(that said, I do have a life. It was a Sunday when I was home alone the entire day.)

It depends on what time of year it is. My mum says no books near exam time because I always get hooked, but other than that... Alot. I've actually taken out the most books from the schoool library lol.
