Okay, so there was another person with us. I couldn't decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing. It would be harder to hide, but more brains to find a way to get out. Oh well, we weren't just going to let her die here, or leave her on her own.

"I'm Melanie." the girl said. Okay, here we go with the introductions.

"I'm Marcie." Marcie said.

"Chris."

"Alista."

"Camile."

"Jessica." Jessica spoke quietly, and after introducing herself, didn't say much. I wondered why, but she'd have her reasons. We all talked, except for her, and Melanie got to know us all, and vice-verse. I really hoped Marcie wouldn't tell her stupid things about me, or Jessica. I still didn't know why she didn't like me, and I didn't want the knew girl to think of me like she did too. It was good to relax again after all that hiding and running from the cannibals.

After a while, I stood up. "I don't mean to break up the talk, but we should get moving if we ever want to make it out of this place."

"He's right," Marcie said, standing up, then added, "for once," quietly. I rolled my eyes, hoping Melanie didn't hear that. I didn't want more trouble with people thinking of me as someone I'm not. Marcie smiled at my reaction and I just looked at her, but I couldn't hide the smile on my own face.

We started walking, and I led. "So, how long have you been in this place?" Chris asked Melanie. He seemed to be enjoying her company a little more than necessary, but ignored that. I didn't want to judge him. He might just be being friendly.

I looked at Chris and smiled then said,"I have only been here for about 2 days, but I think thats long enough in the woods when your alone." Everyone kept on staring at me and I was getting sorta shy and like I felt a little bit of hate coming from Jessica so I just stayed away from her for a while,I think she would have wanted me to stay in the woods alone and die but they welcomed me so Im on my way with them.
I started looking around and then when i went to look behind me I saw something in a tree high above the ground,it was black and big so I hurried up to catch up with the others before I started screaming,I didnt want to look like a fool in front of all the rest of them, exspecially the jessica girl because I wanted to show her im just like everyone else and that she doesnt have to hate me.

Marcie Jones:

The four-hour trek we had planned for that day was horrid, and we were only two hours into it. If I looked on the bright side, which I rarely did, we were two hours closer to getting out - if Jess was leading us in the right direction. I didn't trust her, still. And she wasn't really doing anything to help that opinion.

Rolling my eyes, I walked up alongside Seth.

"I'm surprised," I murmured.

He looked confused, so I added, "You're not walking with Jess. You two lovebirds in a fight?"

I didn't look at him, instead let my eyes scan the forest for distractions. Seth was...with Jessica. He didn't like me. I shouldn't like him because of the aforementioned affiliation with Jessica.

Should I?

I walked up between Chris and Seth the looked at Seth and said,"Hello..is something is bothering you?" then he just looked at me and shook his head then he turned to look at the sky and the tree's oh and believe me,there was a whole bunch of trees to look at since it is a jungle.
While I was going off in my little world I heard someone call my name,"Melanie....Melanie???" then I said,"huh umm what,oh im sorry I wasnt paying attention." it turned out it was Chris calling my name but then after I finally replied he looked away and started talking to jessica and Marcie,I never seemed to get along with any girl because they all just start hating me before they even get to know me.

I walked on in head of the rest. I didn't want to make things worse. Maybe I should just go home, I 'm not that much help here. Besides they have Seth, and nobody is grateful with my help.
"Ow!"I was cut for my thoughts. It was Alista, there was blood on her foot.
"What's the matter?" Chis asked.
"I stepped on on something."
"Here, let me see." Melanie said softly. She walked over to her and looked at her foot. "It's a stick, and part of it's still in there. Let me see if I can put it out." She looked up at Alista then back at her foot. She began digging ing her foot when I decided to go find water or food.
"C'mon Saber," I whispered, " Let's go get something to eat."
Charlie Bucket: You can eat the grass?
Willy Wonka: Of course you can! Everything in this room is eatable, even *I'm* eatable! But that is called "cannibalism," my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies.

I finally got the stick out of her foot and threw it far in the tree's,but blood was all over my fingers so I just whiped it on my pants and then I got some medicine out of my bag I had with me and wrapped it with an ace bandage.I smiled then said,"I am learning about this at school because I want to be a doctor,a girl has to know something like this in case anything happens." but then everyone just smiled and they all said thank you at once, well except Jessica because she had walked away so I hurried up to find her and then I tapped her on the shoulder and she turned around because she knew it was me and yelled,"WHAT DO YOU WANT??" I didnt know what to do or say but then I finally just looked at her and asked,"Why dont you like me? I mean you dont even know me so what do you have against me?"
I had tears coming out of my eyes and I felt hurt that I was hated and so I just looked at her and asked one last time,"why dont you like me?' then her tiger started to growl so I backed away and went back to the group still in tears but I hurried up to whipe my eyes.

Britt, Jessica doesn't hate Melanie, I hope you know that.

Jessica

"WHAT DO YOU WANT??" I shocked myself as soon as I heard my own words.

"Why don't you like me? I mean you dont even know me so what do you have against me?" Tears started coming to her eyes.
Now looked what you did! I should just leave, I guess I'm just meant to be alone.
"why don't you like me?" She asked again.
Saber growled at her. She turned and went back to the group. "Saber! No!" I yelled. He lowered his head with shame. "What's wrong with me!" I sat down besides Saber. "I'm sorry Saber, I'm just mad at myself. It's not your fault." I sighed, "I don't hate you." I whispered. I could feel my tears on my cheek, What's wrong with me!!!

lol ok but this thing when Mel asks why she hates her it wasnt that jess hated her it was just Mel was stressed and she said whatever came out of her mouth.

Melanie

When I went back to the group noone really noticed I cried, thankfully,I was so stressed out that day that it was pathetic and I didnt know what to do nor even what to think. So I looked back at Jessica and I had to walk back over to her because I couldnt stand someone being so down like she was, when I walked over to her she just kept looking down like she didnt even know I was there but she finally lifted her head up and before she could speak I said,"Im sorry." then she just smiled and said,"for what?" and i replied,"Im not really sure,I just felt I should apoligize." So then I let my hand out so I could pull her up,after that we went and found some type of berry that was on the bushes,we got a whole bag of them and brought them back to the group.

Melanie and Jessica came back with a bunch of berries, and I figured it was a good time to stop and take a break. Everyone was thankful that we were stopping, even me. The only reason I had kept pressing on was because I wanted to get out of this blasted place.

We all sat down and started eating. I sat next to Marcie. There were a lot of things I needed to talk to her about, but one particularly.

"Look Marcie, I know you don't like me, but I have to know why." I said, sitting down beside her.

"I don't not like you, I just don't like you that much." she said.

"Ya right. Seriously, what do you have against me?" I asked. She hesitated to answer.

"It's just," she said, then sighed, "I know you and Jessica are together."

"What does that have to do with you disliking me?" I was surprised that I had gotten this much out of her already, and I was a little worried that she was going to stop answering me. I was glad, though.

Marcie Jones:

"What does that have to do with you disliking me?"

Could he be any more blind-sided? I rolled my eyes at his stupidity, but debated my answer.

"I dunno," I said, looking away.

He wasn't going to get any more answers from me; if he kept asking, I would snap. I just wasn't in the mood to talk, maybe because the huge gash on my stomach was starting to hurt again, which might have been the affect of me not paying it any attention the last few days.

Sighing, I waited for Seth's continuous questions.

Seth and Marcie were talking about something, I didn't know what, I wasn't listening.
Melanie, Alista, Chris, Rose and Cami were all in a small group on the other side of the fire. Even Saber was busy with Fang, they had made friends and were licking each other. I could hear the group giggling.
I rolled my eyes, "I'm going to go get some water." I said. A couple of them looked up for a few seconds, then stared to talk again. "Come on Saber," He looked up with begging eyes as if to say,'please can I stay? I'm having fun.' "Not you too. Fine, you stay here." I walked off with the water bucket in my hand in search for the water vine.

Jessica walked off, and I resisted the urge to follow her. Marcie would just get angrier at me, but it was dangerous for any of us to be walking alone in this jungle. I understood why Marcie was mad at me because of Jessica, but I didn't want to except that.

"Marcie, Jessica and I aren't together." I said. She just ignored me. I knew she wasn't going to believe me, but I had to tell her. It was quiet for a while after that, and I wanted to say something, but I didn't know what. I used to think of Jessica as someone that would be more than just a friend, but with all the things going on, there wasn't time to really get to know people well, or hang out at all. Jessica and I were just friends now, and I didn't know if that was a good thing or not.

I noticed Saber staring off into the trees where Jessica had disappeared to. He ran after her, and that made me feel a little better. None of us should be alone here.

I was on my third vine when Saber trotted up to me, "Decided to join the unpopular party?" Saber gave me a sad and sorry look as if to say, I'm sorry, I am ashamed for what I did.
"It's okay boy! You need all the friends you can get." I rubbed the top of his head, and Saber let out a loud purr. "Can you go and find something to eat? Go find some meat. I 'll be right behind you." Saber licked me on the face and crawled off in the undergrowth.
I dropped the bucket of water off and sneaked back out. I tracked Saber to where he was, he had his head tilted up in the trees. I followed his gazed to a monkey, feasting on a coconut. I shimmed up the tree next too the tree that the monkey was in. I grabbed a vine a swung across to the monkey. I landed on another branch slit it's throat. "I thank you as you give your life to give us nourishment for our bodies." I whispered in it's ear. I shot down the tree and walked over to Saber. He stalked off and disappeared in the vines and trees. "Poor Saber, can't stand being out done by a human."
Saber returned a few minutes later with even bigger monkey. I Patted him on the head and said, "Good boy! Now, lets get back to camp!"

They were all still talking to each other, in there own little worlds. I sat down bye the fire and skinned the bigger of the two monkeys, the other I gave to Saber to share with Fang.
After I was done with the skinning, I gutted it. I flung the warm guts over to Saber and Fang, with they ate quickly. I put the monkey on a stick and put it over the fire.
While it was cooking, I went over and cuddled with Saber, who was still eating. I looked over at Seth and Marcie. They looked like a good couple, I felt a pang of sadness. There was something about Seth that made me feel like I belonged.
Seth looked up at me, but I turned my head before he was able to tell that I was watching him, I think.

I felt someone's eyes on me, so I turned to see if anyone was watching me. Nobody was, which made me worried. Then again, living like this can get to people. Having the fear that the cannibals could pop back out any second made me stay alert. I shook all that off, though. I sort of wanted to talk to Marcie about something, or anybody really. I was bored out of my mind!

"So, where are you going to go after we get out of here?" I asked Marcie, trying to start a conversation.

"Home." she said simply without even looking at me. I knew she didn't want to tell me much, but Marcie and I really did need to get to know each other better. "What about you?" she asked, turning to look at me.

I chuckled slightly. "I'm not sure. I don't really have any place to go. I was in an orphanage before I ran here."

"Why would you run here?" she asked in disbelief. To tell the truth, I didn't really know myself. I just shrugged. "I'm not sure. It just seemed like a good place. I had a shelter and everything for a while. Things weren't like this before."

"I bet your regretting it now." she said. I could see a slight smile and her face, and I couldn't help but smile too. At least she wasn't making fun of me right now. We were actually having a conversation, and she was smiling. She read my expression and immediately frowned again, turning away.

"I saw that." I said.

"What?"

"You smiled!"

"No I didn't." she said, beginning to blush a little.

"Yes you did. I saw...ouch!" I rubbed my arm where she hit me, but I was still smiling. I knew us talking to each other like this wasn't going to happen ever again, so it felt good. Marcie was really cool. Jessica handed us all some meat and we ate around the fire. I didn't know what it was, but it was food, and surprisingly good.

"What is this?" Melanie asked. That probably wasn't the best idea.

"Monkey." Jessica said. Melane spit it out, and Camile looked like she was about to puke. We all laughed, except for them of course.

"I just ate monkey." Melanie said quietly. We all smiled, and Jessica and I looked at each other. She turned away, though. I didn't know how I felt about her...or Marcie. I didn't want to think about it. I just wanted to get out of here. I couldn't help but feel sad that none of us might ever see each other again. I had gotten to know most of them. There were my family now, but I knew we'd have to part...

I stopped thinking about that and continued to eat silently.
