Siren "Wren"

I awoke in a helicopter. I couldn't remember anything at all. But I could see people around me.

"Where am I?" I asked weakly.

DOMINIQUE

I woke up, my head was pounding. Where was I? I blinked a few times, trying to get a grasp on my surroundings. I could hear a helicopter, it was really close. I opened my eyes, I was in the helicopter! I looked around frantically, at all the other terrified faces on the helicopter.
"Where am I?" The guy sitting beside me patted my shoulder.
"I don't know... it's ok. You'll be fine. Im Tarrion, who are you?" I sniffled, fighting back tears, don't show weakness, that's what they want.
"I'm Dominique." I turned and faced every one on the helicopter. They all looked as terrified as i felt. Even Tarrion.
"How can you be sure?" He smiled at me weakly.
"I can't." This was going to be a long ride.

TARRION

I was about to say something to Dominique, but there was a groan. "Where am I?" I looked up and saw the girl who had been lying on the floor.

"A helicopter obviously," I muttered, crawling over to her carefully. I was in a helpful mood today. "Need any help?"

She groaned again and pushed herself up. "I-I don't remember anything..." she trailed off.

I sighed. "You're probably chosen, too then. I don't know what's happening either." I helped her sit up, noticing she didn't have a bag. "Didn't they let you pack anything?"

She shook her head. "I don't think so..."

How kind. "Well I've got plenty if you need anything. I think I'm going to play some music actually. Just to lighten the mood a bit." I winked and scurried back to my guitar case, flipping it open and lifting the guitar out. I started strumming an old lullaby my mother used to sing to me. "What's your name? I'm Tarrion by the way," I added quickly.

"Wren," she muttered. I smiled for an unkown reason.

"Wren," I said. He smiled.

"Nice to meet you," he said while strumming on the guitar. I closed my eyes and listened. I liked music.

When the song finished, I said, smiling, "That's a great song."

"Eh, it's nothing," he said with a shrug.

"Well, I think it's definately something," I said, smiling. It was good to smile.

The helicopter had been flying for what felt like hours now. It began its decent and my heart began to race, where were we? Half the people began to get tense, the others were just waking up. As the helicopter landed, i whimpered. Still fighting back tears, my mouth still tasted like pennies.

A woman opened the door.
"Every one out, make sure you grab all your belongings or you will never get them back." I grabbed my duffel bag as every one searched for their stuff. I was glad i only brought one bag. I was nervous, wondering what they were planning. We got out single file. Everyone just as nervous as me. I stumbled out of the helicopter, Tarrion grabbed my arm before I fell. I hissed in pain. He grabbed my burn, he seemed to notice, but i wasn't telling anyone where i got this.

That was my secret. The woman stood in front of us.
"We hope your up for the challenge, don't give us reason to come and get you. Cause we won't bring you home. Watch out for the beasts, the tend to bite." She snickered evilly. Wait... they were leaving us out here! NO! She got into the helicopter as it started. We all ducked to avoid getting decapitated. When the helicopter was gone we all stared in total shock. I was the one to break the silence.
"Now what?" Every one turned to me, as of they were expecting me to answer my own question! A sudden breeze alerted me to how cold it was. I started to shiver.

I closed my eyes and listened to the sounds around me, i could hear every ones heavy breathing, the sounds of small forest creatures and of in the distance, what sounded like a roar. I shuddered. Absolutely terrified. I wasn't much of a hunter, but i could cook, and i could hear peoples stomach's growling.
"If someone catches something, I'll cook." I offered weakly, surprisingly every one began to dig through their bags. Maybe we weren't helpless!

"If someone catches something, I'll cook." A girl offered. Everyone who had bags (lucky people) dug around in them. And I was completely useless. Fun.

I walked up to the girl who had offered to cook. "I can help out," I said hopefully. I wanted to be useful.

She nodded. "Sure. I'm Dominique." she held out a hand to shake, and I shook it.

"I'm Siren, but I'd rather be called Wren, thanks," I said with a grin.

DOMINIQUE

wren, what a cool name!
"Sure, help me get wood for a fire." We started surrieing around, picking up branches and putting them in a pile. I got some rocks and put them in a circle, around the wood. I grabbed two dry pieces and started rubbing them together quickly. A spark hit another piece and the fire came to life. She watched me as the fire started. I pulled out my cooking supplys, and noticed she never went near any of the bags.

"Where's your stuff?" She looked upset.
"I didn't have time to pack."
"That sucks! Your about my size, you can share my clothes, its not much. But it's clothes. The villagers never helped me out." She could tell of my hatred for my village.
"You dont like your village." I scowled.
"No, i was always too busy doing stuff for them. I couldn't get a job because i was too busy. I never even got a thank-you." She nodded and tended to the fire.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"Yeah, well..." she shrugged. I turned back towards the fire.

We were silent for a while. Then I could hear someone approaching us.

TARRION

The girls both tensed up when I strode over. They were obviously panicked. "Chill, it's just me," I assured them, chuckling. They both turned to me, startled. "Dom, I'm sorry if I hurt you back there. Just didn't want you to do a faceplant into the ground." I hoped she didn't mind her new nickname too much.

"It's okay..." she trailed off, averting her gaze.

"Shalo!" I called into the forest. He had taken off...again. I put my arm out infront of me when I heard him call. He came in for a landing, a mouse in his talons. "Oh, well that's just delightful there buddy," I grumbled. "Have a nice, bloody snack on my arm why don't you?"

The girls chuckled. "I didn't know you had a hawk," Wren admited.

I laughed. "Falcon actually. She's a trouble maker, always running off. She comes back though...eventually." I ran a finger down her back and she ruffled her feathers.

"She's really pretty," Wren commented.

I nodded. "Now about that fire, I think I have some matches in my bag." I put it on the ground and rummaged around in it. There was the distant sound of more helicopters landing somewhere. So there were more of us. What fun. I found the matches and tossed one to Dom, who caught it easily.

One of the others was going hunting already, accompanied by yet another. I had no clue who these people were, but oh well.

The fire was started, and I turned to Tarrion. "Why do you think we're here?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. We're all from different villages though, notice?"

I nodded. Shalo had come flying over towards me and was looking at me with eyes so intelligent they could as well be human eyes. "Hey," I said softly, looking the falcon over. Tarrion grinned.

I climbed up a tree, and chopped down one of the small branches. The sound echoed throughout the woods, and i jumped down to the ground. I carved a spear out of it, and went on my way.

The darkness was unbearable,i could hardly think straight, and the eerie silence was driving me insane.since no one wanted to come,i was alone, forced to face my fears yet again.

a deer ran through my sight, and i killed it fast.I put the deer into another large bag i had.and dragged it back to where the group was.The journey back was worse then the journey there, every other second something would rustle in the leaves , or make some kind of appearance to scare me but i managed to get back, alive.

"here ya go!" i said with a smile when i returned.

I heard helicopters in the distance. Perfect a chance to get more people and get tarrion away from me. I slid the match into my pocket, i had already started the fire. I looked back up at him, hiding my arm. No need for questions.
"You should get the others and find those helicopters. They probably have more terrified people on them. No one should be alone." He nodded. I whistled loudly and called out.
"Every one get back here!" Now we would just wait for every one and tarrion could got get them.
