Michel wrapped his arms around my back, pulling me closer. I put my arms around his neck. I could feel his soft lips on mine and for an instant the world felt right. He pulled me tight, and we were pressed against each other. We stayed like this a few minutes, then I opened my eyes, taking it all in.

Instead I took in two gleaming black eyes. Ten yards away, staring at us, stood a girl of about nine with silky black hair, a pale face, and no wings. I nearly fell off the rock.

>OK, I'm going to make a human character, and I will post the profile on the DT!<

~Ellie May~

This was all confusing to me. I stood, walking into the forest. I didn't care if we were close to humans. I didn't care if I could have been killed. It didn't bother me at all.

I heard a rustling in the leaves, and I paused. I turned, seeing the shadow of someone move and disapear. I pulled my wings in close to my body. I turned in the direction of another noise. The noises were everywhere. I finally pushed my wings out, and used them to help me jump high into a nearby tree. I saw a boy below me, looking up at me. My wings were spread as far out as possable, so that I might scare the human boy away. He simply stared at me, not fazed at all.

I was suddenly jolted out of my trance. Blake broke away. My eyes flew open. She was staring at something surprise and disbelief in her eyes. Then fear. I whirled around and there was a girl standing there. She had pitch black hair and skin as pale as snow. Her eyes were such a dark brown they looked black. She was a stunned, terrified 10-year-old. That’s when I realized she had no wings.

I felt awkward and embarrassed.. Not because we were so different, because she had just watched me and Blake kissing. It was probably like a dream to her, a boy and a girl who had wings kissing on a huge bolder almost completely covered in moss. Neither I nor she made a single move. Blake recovered quicker. She leaped down from the rock.

“We won’t hurt you.” She talked in a soft voice, one you would use on a hurt animal. “What’s your name honey?” It the first time I had really seen her motherly side. Anika was always being taken by someone else. I watched still as stone. “My name’s Blake.” I slipped down beside Blake. I folded up my wings realizing how huge they were. I suddenly remembered how I took care of my little brother Jeremiah.

“Hey,” I said. “Want to fly. Or are you to chicken?” Blake looked at me like I was crazy.

"Hey," Michel said to the girl. "Want to fly? Or are you too chicken?" He was crazy.

"What the heck are you doing? Are you insane?!" I hissed at him, too low for the kid to hear.

He looked at me with a gleam in his eyes. "Probably," he said before turning his attention back to the little girl.

Talking to her was one thing. Offering her a ride was a whole 'nother. It was then I remembered why I would call him a moron. He was lucky I liked kissing him so much or I might have knocked his head, that idiot.

“Probably” I said turning back the girl. What are you doing?! My brain screamed. This girl wasn’t my little brother. This girl ... this girl could do the same thing as he did. She might not do it by accident. Her mouth formed an O. I stepped back, and turned meeting Blake’s fiery eyes.

“ Uhhhhh ...” I looked back at the girl. She was edging away. Should we keep her from going or not? If she did go would she tell? If she did would they even believe her? What if it got to the government? Would a crazy story get that far? She turned and started to run.

WAIT!! I mentally screamed. Such a small child could put us all in danger.

"Wait!" I called out in the sickeningest sweet voice I could muster. "Can I show you something?"

Now it was Michel's turn to look at me like I was crazy and ask "What are you doing?"

"No idea," was my reply.

The kid hesitated, and that was all I needed. Using my wings as a push off I raced to her, though made sure to make it look unintimidating. I spread out my wings and tilted one to her. Gently bringing her hand to my soft, blue wing, I said, "Soft, see? I'm nice."

She looked at me. "I'm not five." Still, she looked in awestruck wonder. She looked excited in her own subdued way.

>Guys, I was wondering if I could make the girl a character and play her like sunstar did with Anika. If so I'd post the profile and picture on the DT<

Michael came over and walked off with Blake, leaving me alone. I turned around to see Caroline sitting by herself and I walked over to her. "Hey, Carry," I said, waiting for the reply that I knew was coming. But the only thing I got from Caroline was silence. I tried one more time, "Carry?" Finally, I got it.

"Don't call me Carry," she said sounding like a five year old. That always made me smile. I laughed and plopped down next to her. "Glad to see your feeling better," I said bumping her shoulder. She smiled.

As I smiled back, I caught glimpse of white feathers behind her. It was Ester. She was standing by herself, and looking like she was ready for some kind of action. I remembered that she had asked If anyone wanted to go for a stroll. No one had responded. I wanted to go ask if she was up for one now, but right now I was talking to Carry and it would be rude to walk away.

Carry looked at me funny and then looked over her shoulder to see what I was looking at. When she looked back I gave her a smile. She sighed, "You can go."

"What?" I asked. How did she know what I was thinking? Were my facial expressions that easy to read? I wondered.

"You can go talk to Ester," She smiled. I still didn't know what to do, I didn't want to leave Caroline. But I hadn't really been able to talk to Ester since... our first kiss. "Go," Carry commanded. That was all that I needed. I nodded my head in thanks and got up.

When I walked up to Ester she smiled. "Still want to go for that stroll?" I asked.

I took Anika's hand. "Want to go on a walk, sweetheart?" I asked her quietly. "You to, Kaylee," I said, grinning towards her.

"Sure," Kaylee said amiably, coming with me.

We walked down the forest path. I realized there was no one in the camp except Caroline on their own. Kaylee seemed to realize this. "I'll stay back with her," she whispered.

"Good idea," I replied and continued on my own with Ani.

I sighed as we kept walking. Being around humans by myself didn't really worry me, but I didn't want Anika in danger.

Anika

We were going on a walk. We were near humans, they had said. I think humans were like us but they didn't have wings. Weird.

We kept walking. I could hear voices but I expected they were some of our friends.

Thanks for putting me in, Dragon.

Caroline:

Everything around me feels so serene and clean.

I can only hear the soft rustling of leaves as it flows down gracefully with the breezy wind. It’s been quite a few weeks since a lot of catastrophic incidents happened. I just can’t totally believe myself, these things happened but… we’re not yet finished. It's like we're just still on the middle part of a big novel.

I took a secret glance at Corbin and Ester. Wow, a good couple they are. I didn’t even notice that they shared the same feelings towards each other. It’s because I wasn’t aware of everything happening back when I was possessed. I knew I neglected my duty as a winged person and now, I just want to make it up or just even do a slight difference for all those things I have abandoned...

not just for myself but for my friends too...

I don't know what to say ..
Michel

The girl walked between us each hand in one of ours. I was so glad she was tempted by our wings. She liked Blake’s better though because they were soft. Mine were just scales. She was scared of me, and whenever I unfolded my wings she looked at me like I was a dragon or something. It was kind of disconcerting.

Slowly she told us her story. She was running away, but she had only been gone for a day.

I looked down at the human boy. It had been a long while sense I'd seen a human. He didn't move, just stood there, looking up at me. He didn't seem to be too scared, or dangerous. I slowly climbed down, keeping an eye on him. That was when I noticed what he was holding. A machete. I paused right there. He seemed to realize, and he put it on the ground.

~Ashton~

She seemed scared, but who could blame her? All of her kind would be killed. I felt sorry for all of them. I had seen the others in a clearing a ways away from here, but I didn't disturb them. I wasn't sure if the were dangerous or not. Her wings were huge, spreading some 15 feet. They were white, with red on one tip, though I thought it would be blood. She continued down the tree and stood there, 4 feet in front of me. She spoke first.

"Who are you?" she asked. I looked at her. Her voice was shaky, and her eyes darted around. They were in human territory, so they must've been brave. I didn't answer her. I was actually pretty scared that she might attack me from what I heard of the other kids talking about.

Ester Alice

"Still up for a stroll?" Corbin asked, his eyes lowered somewhat. I felt a flush creep up my neck as the memory of our lips planted together came to mind. I nodded quickly realising he was waiting for an answer. "Sure!"

Digging my hands into my pockets, I stumbled over a rock Corbin following after me. Looking up at the green foliage, I sighed happily. This place sure was pretty. "It's pretty isn't it?" Corbin muttered, awing at the red and blue birds skimming over the tree tops. I nodded, "Looks like home."

Once I said it, I wished that I hadn't. Corbin looked down at his shoes, lips curling back barring his teeth. Was he thinking about the wolves? I am. I looked down at his hand as they clenched. Realising I staring at him, he looked up meeting my gaze. I felt my heart catch in my throat. Unable to pull my stare away, Corbin smiled oblivious.

"Race you?" He asked, pointing to the large boulder a few yards away. I grinned, "I don't know - can you keep up with me?" I taunted. "We'll just have to find out. Ready-"
"Set-" I interrupted loudly.

"GO!" We screamed in unison jumping into a fast sprint.
I spy!

Corbin~

"Go!" We shouted at the same time. Both of us sprinted forward. I held back enough to make it a tie but once we neared the rock I push harder and managed to get ahead by a couple of inches. The boulder was getting closer and I could already taste victory. Suddenly I stumbled back from a yank at my shirt. I twisted in Ester's grasp to get lose, "Cheater!" I called, laughing. She giggled and used me to pull herself ahead. "Cheater!" I accused her again. I was trying to pry her fingers from my shirt and I didn't see the root that was sticking up from the ground. I did a face plant in the mud and Ester raced ahead and touched the rock.

"I won!" She cried, doing a victory dance.

"Did not!" I said spitting mud from my mouth. I watched her as she continued her little dance. She was quite talented. She could really move her hips, and I was mesmerized. She caught me staring and I smiled at her. "I'm going to get you for this," I said brushing off more mud. I stood up and walked towards her with a teasing smile. Raising my hands, I wiggled my fingers giving her the sign that she was about to be tickled to torture.

"No, Corbin," She laughed, running behind the boulder. I followed and got her cornered. Then I started to mercilessly tickle her. "Stop! Stop it!" She said, gasping for air. By now she was crying she was laughing so hard.

Her laugh was beautiful.
