Writer's Block *A drawing* (Need help here!)

Okay...
So I had the inspiration to draw a Writer's Block monster. I drew out the monster, but I need help deciding a few things.
I need an idea for a different background. The monster itself will stay the same, I'll just cut it out and paste it onto the new picture after I'm done with the background.
This background sucks and is not permanent.

Oh...and the most ironic thing about this drawing is that it gave me wonderful inspiration for a short(ish) story! Way too good to be true!

So, I just had a quick comment about your background. The image of the monster itself is lovely, but you know what I think would really bring it out a bit? Something simple, that really showcases the mind of a writer when going through writer's block. It would be blank, right? Sans ideas? You could just have him in a plain white room with white walls and flooring, and I think it would work.

That monster is too darn cute for what it represents, and yet, it seems so fitting. XD As kind of an addition to Elinor's white room suggestion, maybe you could also include a box of ideas to make the relationship clearer, otherwise it would just be a really cute monster.

And the box could be locked! And the monster could be holding the key! =O

Oh, darn, Now I've got to try this. I'm afraid to do it, though, since you might be somewhat offended by me stealing your idea. But never mind, I'm here to critique.
The colors aren't really solid, but that's what you get when you use colored pencils.
The flies are placed somewhat randomly, and seem a little... weird, but isn't the monster weird too?
He's got a little bump on his belly, it might be the other hand, but I can't tell...
His face has no emotion. If I were a monster that ate up delicious ideas and enjoyed seeing people writhe in an unimaginative state, I'd wear a smug grin.
