It was a Friday night and I had an itch to do something cool. This came out…
NOTE: After reading each box, look very, very carefully for the arrows (outlined in pink) that lead to the next box. Better yet, read the numbers attached to the edge. This is because I didn’t lay everything out very well, and you can get confused by reading the wrong box.

The following spoiler contains something you really, really, REALLY shouldn’t read without first looking at the comic strip. Please.

Spoiler
Part #1 “A Troggy Day”

Box 0: A rainbow-colored text box: “A Day In the Life of A Space Muffin”
Box 1: “Muffy was resting by da pool…”
Box 2: “Suddenly…Black grows the sky!” A dark cloud can be seen in the upper-right corner. Muffy is reading my (yet-unfinished ><) novel ‘27’. The red-and-black-striped thing is Muffy’s straw, shaking as the clouds approach.
Box 3: It is Troglokan! Evil nemesis of space muffins everywhere!” In the lower-right corner, a “>o<” emoji can be seen. A ring sits on the tip of one of the claws of Troglokan’s machine. Troglokan was intentionally made to look cute, and then the thick, dark eyebrows were added to clash with his face. Below this box is another reading “Jenthura © 2010 YWS, Aquamarine.”
Box 4: Troglokan is flexing his machine’s muscle. The crowd leaves quickly and a Minion can be seen among them (Part #3). Muffy’s hand is twitching towards her ray gun in the ‘quick draw’ style. Muffy is also levitating: hey, she’s a space muffin, what’ja expect?
Box 5: Street-fighter style, Muffy and Troglokan rush towards each other. Health bars and life marks can be seen in the lowest corners.
Box 6: “An epic battle ensues!” in the lower-right corner of the box is another emoji: “OoO”

A dotted arrow leaves the box, implying a “To be Continued…”

Part #2 “The Bunny Button”
Box 1: “But suddenly…Something goes wrong!” I accidentally left out the ‘n’ in ‘something’, so I drew it just a little above and edited it into place on a computer. Muffy’s gun clicks (which is surprising, since purple-energy-blasting ray guns are not mechanical) and Troglokan’s claws rush towards her.
Box 2: “An atomic wedgie!” Muffy says something not translatable and her gun can be seen spinning off towards the lower-right corner. The look on her face fully implies pain.
Box 3: “Luckily, Muffy keeps her head.” Muffy slams the keys of her (cherry red) cellphone and calls Kamas. Unfortunately, she gets the busy signal. The background words say, “Hello! You have reached the number you dialed. If you want to leave a message, press ‘1’. If you want to leave a phone number, press ‘2’. If you want to leave…”
Box 4: Kamas’ room (Whom I refer to as Super-Spork) Muffy can be seen outside the window, shouting into her phone. Kamas is doing her computer (a block of text can be seen, a poem, perhaps?) the billboard behind her computer has the notice “CALL NATE” as a foreshadowing of the end. Clothes are strewn about the floor in the way I imagine the real Kamas’ room to be. The grey cellphone vibrates in Kamas’ blue-pink backpack. A math book can be seen in the lowest right corner.
NOTE: The screen on Muffy’s phone is grey: Kamas’ color. Kamas’ screen is green because Muffy is calling her.
Box 4.5 (located between boxes 4 and 7) Kamas in a Super Vac capsule. This is how she arrives at the battle scene.
Box 5: Go all the way to the left for this box (the arrow leads there, but it is kinda hard to see). Troglokan says: “Ha! Ha! Once I finish wedgie-ing you, Muffy, I’ll take over the whole YWS World!” Muffy can be seen in the background with both arms of the machine tugging on her underwear. Tears stream from her eyes into her mouth, anime-style.
Box 6: Enter Super-Spork. Cue Dramatic Music. “Over my dead body, Troggy!” Kamas carries a massive cleaver (similar to the one Cloud Strife wields: Final Fantasy) Red flags and a red-orange-yellow background accentuate the dramatic-ness of this image. The Chinese characters on Super-Spork’s chest (極) read ‘goku’ or, ‘extreme’.
Box 7: Super-Spork swings the cleaver into the back of Troglokan’s head. Troggy falls waving his arms rapidly, which might make his arms look like wings. His eyes tear up as he falls. In the background, Muffy take her revenge on the hands.
Box 8: “In no time at all, Super-Spork and Muffy demolishify Troglokan’s evil plan.” Pieces of the hands-machine are strewn on the floor, along with a puddle of water. Troglokan lies face down, a pink bald spot atop his head. (Inspired by a similar incident in “Open Season II”) Kamas and Muffy shake hands. Muffy levitates so that Kamas does not have to bend down to shake hands.
Box 9: “Or so they thought…” Troglokan (bald spot fully exposed now) stands up again and, holding a remote control with a single button, yells out, “HA!”
Box 10: “At the touch of this button, the entire YWS –forums, posts, portfolios¬– will disappear forever!” Yes, I know that ‘dissapear’ is misspelled. The box below this one says, “JENTH © 2010 YWS”.

A dotted arrow leaves the box, implying a “To be Continued…”

Part #3 “Calling all troops…”
Box 0: JENTHURA © 2010 youngwriterssociety.com: Since 1918
Box 1: Kamas: “You’re…you’re bluffing!” Kamas reaches behind her back for a twin-blade shuriken. Muffy reaches into a panel behind her back; the door of the panel has a skull superimposed on bones.
NOTE: Kamas never uses the shuriken: this is merely a set up for another comic.
Box: 2: Troglokan yells so hard spit flies from his mouth. In the background you can see his Minions arriving (do NOT ask why he hadn’t used them earlier, super-villains are just that way, saving the best for last)
Box 3.1: “You’d like to think that, wouldn’t you?” a quote from The Princess Bride. “You’re stalling/You’d like to think that, wouldn’t you?”
Box 3.2: “Now, Minions, destroy Super-Spork and Muffy!”
Box 4: An awesome picture of Minions. Note the blood around their ‘teeth’.
Box 5: Muffy pushes a button labeled “Panic Button”. The panel door has words on it, but only a few can be seen: “Only,” “Emergency,” Nate,” “YWS,” “Have”.
Box 6: Muffy winks.
Box 7: Kamas gets the message and smiles.
Box 8: Follow the arrow all the way to the left, don’t go straight down. You can see some of the Chinese characters on Super-Spork’s chest. “Well then, Trog…”
Box 9: “We’re goin’ down fightin’! (A song used in the war-film Black Hawk Down) Kamas and Muffy on one side, weapons out before them. the Minions rush forward, bloody mouths opening into a flesh-tearing teeth as they near the left side of the box. Troglokan stands over his army, smiling with his arms crossed. The city behind him is YWS (see the Hollywood-style sign behind the city?)
Box 10: Troglokan suddenly turns around with a scared look on his face as a giant, golden hand comes down over him.
Box 11: one long box (under box 9) that says simply, “WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” (Yes, I actually counted each and every one of the characters and reproduced them here verbatim)
Box 12: Nate is not the golden monkey robot: Nate sits on the very top, controlling it like Troglokan with his hands-machine. YWS-city can be seen behind with a killer sunset. Super-Spork and Muffy are in the lower-left corner. The Minions have conveniently disappeared. In the lower-right corner, a dark-red ‘NATE’ can be seen. In the upper-left corner Troglokan’s clouds are running away.
NOTE: Nate is not shown in this comic, maybe a later one…Also, the ‘N’s on his robot are all flipped the wrong way.
Box 13: Troglokan has the “Uuuummm…” look on his face, and Kamas grabs the remote control really quickly. A ‘THNX!” can be seen in the corner, even though chatspeak is banned in YWS.
Box 14.1: Nate grabs Troglokan by the ears. I originally wanted Nate to punch him, but that didn’t work. There are three ‘14’ boxes, implying that all three things happen simultaneously.
Box 14.2: Muffy shoots a Minion into the sky. Notice how the blood on its chin streaks down from the force of the blow?
Box 14.3: Kamas goes cleaver-crazy through the crowd of Minions, leaving a trail of destruction as she goes.
Box 15: Troglokan behind bars, weeping in a way similar to Muffy’s earlier tears (Part #2, Box 5). Red eyes show up in the gloom behind him.
There is no Box 16, the final picture, the ‘The End’ is part of background, and you can see the rays of sunlight going out over the entire comic strip.

Special thanks to Amy, Super-Spork, Nate, my mom for encouragement, my pens for awesomeness, my fingers for withstanding excruciating pain for so long (I did all other this in one night, remember?) and to my ever-expanding, crazyilicious imagination.

:thud: You know what? NO. It's not even funny anymore. I HATE YOU. Why are you so good at this stuff? Honestly, what does your mother feed you? It must be super organic or something. >.<

Okay, as for the comic itself, I've been a little interested in comics lately, and I know the format that you're supposed to use (not really). I do think your layout is a little confusing, but I still like how it's all over the place, because it allows more room for creativity and whatever. *nods*

I have nothing else to say, really...It was freakin' amazing. Seriously. It amazes me how awesome these are, and it's so consistent! Keep it up, and...You better tell me when you post more work...

-Knightley

P.S. I wanna be in one! I am the Radioactive (But No Less Ferocious) Cat! Think about it... ;)

Well first thing's first. HolycrapI'mreallysuperjealoushowthehellcanyoudrawsowellthisisjusttoodarnawesome*fangirlsqueal*.

Okay. Now that that's over lets get on with the review.

Really the only thing I had trouble with was the layout, it was all over the place, and sometimes I couldn't even find the numbers when I tried to follow them.

It reminded me of the Captain Underpants type style, and I love it!
Also, Kamas and Amy!! *loffs*

Awesome job!

:o

As soon as I saw the atomic wedgie I thought of Captain Underpants. XD It has the same feel to it. Man, I loved those books.

Uhm, well, this is totally awesome. Like, really. :D I'm a little biased, though.

(But seriously, Jenny, you are an amazing drawer. Fo' real.)

This was really great!

Sorry, this isn't a proper review. I know absolutely zilch about comics. Because of that, I'm just going to drop by and leave a comment of love... :smt005 Besides, anything I would have said has already been said. The layout, for example, is a bit on the messy side. Mind you, I quite like that bout this.

What I will say though is that you are a seriously good artist! The characters didn't even need to be named for me to tell who they were. Also, I agree with what the other guys said; this reminds me of Captain Underpants. Which is a seriously good thing. Skins likey.

Yeah, sorry this was pointless...

Keep drawing. Please!

I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

Thanks guys! The layout is messed up because I wasn't thinking and didn't use a ruler. It'll get better as time goes on though (yes, I plan to do more and already have Part One of The Great Kidnapping) Drop me a note if you want to be in it, but you'd better have a recognizable avvie or I'l be like... *blank*
I've never heard of Captain Underpants, I'll google that later.
I have some preliminary drawings you guys might want to see, so I'll post those soon.
But never mind about me: keep drawing, the contest needs you!

This does remind me of Captain Underpants! :D A bit confusing, but I think that's because I can't read all the words... they're kind of smushed together. I wouldn't mind if this were bigger. Still, very epic and I love the color scheme.

Also, the only minions that are worth having are MINE. *snuggles*

You can put me in, if you want. :P

Hey Jen!! Irish here!

So, I don't think I've ever reviewed one of your pieces, but I always make sure to look when I see you've posted something.

Wanna know why?

Well I'll tell you why you amazingly incredibly gifted person.

Look at what I just said. ^ thats why

You're REALLY good. I second Timmeh's question, what DID your mother feed you? O_o Cuz I want it.

The comic was awesome! Again, I agree with Timmy that its a little hard to figure out which way to go but I loved the colors and the concept was really funny xD

Keep up the amazingly fantastical work dude!

Every time I’ve gotten feedback that was hard to take it was usually hard to take because there was truth in it and I didn’t like that (or didn’t want to receive it). That’s not to say all harsh feedback is good or that we should be harsh for harshness’ sake, but learning to absorb truth without letting it break your inner core/break you is a lifelong skill that keeps your mind elastic and open to learning.
