Noelle Leicester - 7.10 PM

"I'm Sam Blackburn. All of us in favor of getting the hell out of Dodge, huh?"

Some of the kids glanced at Sam but other stares remained glued to her. At first she smiled at them, but now her smile was beginning to waver and she was glad Sam decided that they ought to introduce themselves.

"Sam." The name tasted foreign to her tongue. None of the kids at school wanted to be plain old Sam. They all wanted to be Samuel or Samantha or whatever. Noelle stood up and extended her hand towards Sam. "I'm Noelle Leicester, and yes, the sooner we get out the better."

He didn't take her hand. In fact, all of them just stared at her in silence. Noelle began to chew her lip.

Mitch cleared his throat and coughed. "You all know me. I'm Mitch."

Thank God someone broke the awkward silence. These guys were her ticket out of here, and if they didn't want her eventually she'd have to leave them too. But for now they had to get out before the night ended.

Before Grant and Mom and Dad realized she wasn't in her room, realized she wasn't in any of the clubs or with her friends.

Fic, it's easy. Just have your character turn up and talk to Mitch. And please go read the DT. (discussion thread) and psot any questions there.

Trista Logans, April 16th-7:13pm:

I edged away from the group. Mitch knew me. I had freaked out at first last time. I hide behind Noelle and watched the boys from under my hood.

"Trista," I said and went back to hiding. Boys really freaked me out.

Cisco:

I slung my duffel over my shoulder and headed over to Mitch. "'Ey, Mitch. I'm here."

Connor Whitaker, 7:14pm
That kid - Blackburn - sure was jittery. And was staring at Leicester's hand like he had no idea what to do with it, which, for all they knew, was true. It did make things horribly awkward for a moment there, and Whitaker refrained from rolling his eyes.

Good thing Oliver had taken pity on them, or he suspected this might have taken a while. As the others offered their name he tried to memorize their faces, associating features to sounds. There was little he hated as much as forgetting the name of someone he ought to know, and for once he was almost grateful for his father's parading him like a show horse at those endless functions.

"Whitaker, Connor" he offered, straightening himself as he pulled away from the wall, at the same time sending an unimpressed glance at the tall blond that was just now strolling towards them.

"We've been here a while," he told Oliver. "Might be time to move out. Or are we waiting for anyone else?"

The girls were looking nervous, though about what exactly he wondered. So did Blackburn, but that seemed more out of unease than anything. As far as groups went, this one seemed like it was going to be interesting.

"Okay, let's move out!" Someone said loud enough for us to hear but soft enough so no one walking by would hear. I crossed my arms and tried to keep the warmth in as we began walking. This was going to be a long day.

Okay, we're going now. If anyone who's posted a profile, but hasn't turned up, that's fine. We'll just meet your character along the way somewhere.

Mitch

"Everyone ready?" I asked, glancing at my friends' nervous faces.

"Yeah, definitely." Sam smiled.

As I scanned everyone else's faces, each one of them nodded. I was feeling as unsure as they were, I was just good at hiding it. Minutes later, we were all heading towards the train station. With any luck, I had enough money for everyone.

No one really said anything to each other on the way there. It was pretty obvious that there was a lot of tension between these guys. Especially between Noelle and the others. Mind you, Noelle was dressed like Paris Hilton, after all. No offence to her or anything.

"We're catching a train?" Trista spoke wearily.

I looked at her, rather surprised. Of course we were going on the train. Did she expect us to walk everywhere we went or something?

"Well, yeah." I shrugged.

"What if someone we know sees us?" Cisco said, nervously.

I paused and thought. Cisco did have a point. I had no idea where any of these guys' parents were. I just kind of assumed that they were all in their houses.

"Don't worry," I assured everyone. "We'll be fine. Just don't draw any attention to yourself."

"Okay." Mine nodded.

"Where are we going anyway?" Sam asked, turning to me.

"Don't know, I'll decide when we get tot the station." I shrugged. "The world's our oyster now guys."

I couldn't help but notice pleasured smiles grow on the faces of the people around me. This was going to be a very interesting journey.
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

"The world's our oyster guys." I felt myself grin. I knew he didn't have enough money for this but I hoped that one day we could go to SanFrancisco. They would love it. I glanced at my watch. My mother usually got off of work around this time to come home. I left her a note saying I was going back to America but I was afraid I'd see her on the train.

Noelle

"The world's our oyster, guys."

Yeah, but it wouldn't be for long if Noelle didn't hide. She put on a pair of shades as one of her father's workers passed by and heard one of the other girls snort.

"Who wears sunglasses at night?"

Someone trying to hide. Duh. But Noelle managed to flash the girl a weak smile anyway. She approached Mitch, who was at the counter trying to buy them all tickets.

He lacked money. Sorely lacked money.

"Mitch, let me handle this," she said.

He gave her an incredulous look but she got tickets for all of them. Every one of the kids who actually needed to get out of this place. His eyes bugged out a little when he saw how much cash she brought.

"What are you doing carting around that kind of money?"

"Being prepared," Noelle replied.

Everything was set and she would be free - at least, that was what she thought until she spotted Grant, her ever friendly fiance, chatting up one of the others.

I don't have anyone in mind for the person chatting with her fiance. :) I'm just trying to move the plot along, so feel free to step in.

Trista:

I yelped and backed away from the guy. He kept coming. I looked around frantically and saw Mitch coming to the rescue. Mitch stepped between me and the guy and I hid behind Mitch.

"Leave the girl alone," Mitch said. The other guy laughed.

"I'm just talkin' to her," the guy replied.

I looked around and saw Noelle at the counter, glaring at the guy. I shot her a pleading look.

"Clearly she doesn't want to hear it," Mitch hissed. "Leave."

But he didn't leave. He stayed there, looking past Mitch and at me. I backed away until I was near Noelle. One of the only other girls who seemed to have turned up.

Mitch

The guy, who really needed to bathe, simply stared viciously at the girls behind me.

"What are you lookin' at?" Mine hissed at him.

This guy was seriously pissing me off now. I really couldn't wait to get out of this excuse for a city. Away from creeps like this.

"Mate, just leave her alone!" I pushed the guy back slightly. "Go 'ave a bath or summit. You bloody need one!"

The large guy turned to me, his eyes blazing. It didn't take me a while to realise that I'd made a huge mistake. I really needed to start thinking before I acted.

Before I could do anything else, he pulled his arm back behind his head. Seconds later, he swung it towards me. I heard Noelle shout something as I fell to the hard, wet ground. Holding my aching eye, I stood back up to see the guy's face staring right back in front of mine. Why was I such a prick?

Sam
"Yeah, definitely."

The initial awkwardness past, he was finding it difficult to stop himself from grinning a bit stupidly. Call him simple, but it'd been a while since he'd been anywhere near people he thought he could understand, even if it was only a little.

And Mitch seemed to know what he was doing, or at least have an idea, which was more than anyone else had, so Sam happily followed. He still wasn't entirely sure what to think of the others, but there'd be time for that. They were leaving this dump of a city, which was a plan he could get behind.

It only hit him that it'd take quite some money to get them all aboard the train when Noelle was already pushing Mitch aside and taking the situation in hand, and he couldn't hold in a little impressed whistle as he saw the sizable amount of cash she had in hand.

Someone - the latest guy who'd come around and whose name he hadn't got - shushed him with a gesture and he ducked his head sheepishly.

Not for long though. Now who the heck was that creep? He hadn't noticed his approach, and he'd apparently started out pretty friendly, but it was turning nasty fast.

Oh shit, had he just decked Mitch? Sam didn't think, just moved to stand at Mitch's side, eyes narrowed. He was peripherally aware of whatshisname, Connor? finally removing his hands from his pockets, dropping the cool and better-than-you pose to join them into staring the attacker down.

"You okay, Mitch?"

"I'll live," he answered, and that would do for now.

Mine-

I stood there awestruck as some loser- Noelle's finance, I was pretty sure- socked Mitch. Sam stood next to him, glaring angrily at the attacker, but a stare-down wouldn't accomplish anything. I was sick and tired of losers trying to take charge. I grabbed my guitar case, walked over, and swung it at the loser's head. He crumpled to the ground, unconscious. "Come on, you guys. We'd better leave." I said, checking my guitar for damage. It was fine, more than than the guy on the floor could say. A few of them looked at me like they hadn't noticed I was there, and a few nodded in agreement.

I was stuck in my bedroom, listening to my dad drown on about my studies. I didn't do so well, in fact the highest mark I got was a C+, not my usual self. I had promised Mitch that I would meet him, I bet he's gone now. It might not be too late. They were getting a train, oh I might make it if I take my dad's car.

"Ummm... Dad, if you think I need to study more can I go and revise at Sophie's?" I said, I didn't know a Sophie, it just came out. "Sure," he replied, "be back before midnight." I just nodded. Slyly, I took the car keys out of his back pocket, I had a knack for that. Not something I'm proud of though.

I raced outside and started the engine of my dad's car, at full speed I drove out of the drive-way and started my one-way trip to Mitch. My heart was thumping, I didn't have my drivers licence... Yet. I was going to take a test, but that didn't matter. If the police caught me, I would run.

Luckily, I wasn't caught. I got outside the train station and started sprinting towards it. My train was right there, I wasn't going to miss it. I dashed straight ahead and onto the train. The doors nearly closed. I had made it!

"Mitch! Mitch!" I yelled, passengers staring at me. I moved to the next carriage and spotted him with a group of other people.

Someone told me there's a girl out there, with love in her eyes and flowers, in her hair.
