I knew I had missed training day, so I was a littler worried about how everyone would react when they saw me. I ran up behind Rose and tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped around and I stepped back.

"Hey, I'm really sorry about missing out. Something came up and I had to deal with it right away. Do you forgive me?" I asked her. I was afraid she was going to get mad at me.

I wasn't lying when I said something came up. The friend that I stayed with got sick and I couldn't leave until he was well enough, but I wasn't going to tell her that. I didn't want anyone to know that I stayed with my friend because I didn't want them to start asking questions. That wasn't the point, though. I just wanted her to forgive me for missing it. I waited silently for her reply.

I walked out to the beach where everyone else was. I wasn't going to come since I still hadn't had a chance to shower or even change clothed but I heard that there was going to be sugary sweets. With a smile I yealled "Hey everybody!". They all looked at my chocolate covered hair and stained t-shirt. I immediatly shoved a cupcake into my mouth and Bonnie rolled her eyes.

"Hey Bonnie." I said. But since it was through cupcake it turned out to be "Ey bonyee." She turned anyway and when she did I stuck my food covered tongue out at her. She made a disgusted face even though she was used to it. I simply just laughed.

I made a face at Tom, then went to talk to Chris.

I held the plate up. "It's okay, I bring peace", he said, to a girl named Rose. I walk up to the two of them.

"I don't think Ice Cream was the best idea for a snack." I said. thankfully, I had a chance to take a shower, but my hair still smelled like mint chocolate chip and vanilla.

"Why?" Chris asks.

"There was an incident." Rose says, the people near enough to hear us start laughing.

"I'll be picking ice cream out of my hair for weeks." Tom laughs.

"Well, I just smell like ice cream, no visible signs of a food war." I say, then add, "It was the cold war all over again." I say. Rose and Chris both laugh a little at my joke.

"So, whats the first activity Mr. Senior Actvity Director Person?" I ask Chris with a mock salute. He laughs again.

"Let me see..." He says, and pulls out a clipboard.

"Let me see..." I said, pulling a clipboard from my pocket (the clip board was only big enough to hold a tiny pad of paper, and a minature pen). "Looks as though you might need to do twenty push-ups and then, lets say forty sit-ups." I eyed her supicously.

She just smiled and shrugged, then, oddly enough, she crawled to the sand beneath her, and got into a push up stance.

"I was only kidding!" I quickly said. And the whole scene burst into laughs. Talk about one happy group.

"I actually don't think there's anything we need to attend to right away," I said. "Might as well just have fun". I said, a smile playing on my lips. This oddly joyful mood I was in now was a little odd for me, but I decided that the enthusiasm of this bunch was just contagious. I'll wait 'till we start the actual camp before I turn into my boring old self.

I then sat down on the damp sandy floor, and started eyeing my desserts tray suspiciously.
Now which one would be the best weapon in a food fight? I thought, conspiring...
Mo. was here. :) mwahahaha

I burst out from the road leading down to the beach crazy as ever and went straight for the sea, taking a leap of faith as I crashed into the shallow depths of the tide about 10m out. My head shuddered as it banged on the sea bed and i instantly shot up out of the water and let out a quiet curse. "Not a good start," I murmured to myself as I took another dive under the water. It was cold and it had taken it that long for the temperature to hit me. I twisted under the water to regain heat, despite the sun shining up above. As I held my breath and kicked along the with the tide for a little bit, the salt began to tingle at my lips. It was an annoying feeling but at the same time it was as if I were being tempted into a longing kiss and I stayed under water. For a second I managed to open my eyes and take in a blue, little murky area of seaweed flowing amongst the sandbed and a couple of shells dotted amongst the sand. I grabbed hold of a bright pink one laced with a pearly white and rose back up to the surface a little above me. When I stood up I noticed the sea was only upto the bottom of my torso. I yelled back to the others, "Hey, check out this beauty of a shell, eh?!"

"Hey, check out this beauty of a shell, eh?!" I looked over and saw a pink and white shell. I guess it looked noce if you were into that kind of thing, which I wasn't. As I turned my head back around something cold hit the side of my face. I wipped it off and licked it. Whipped cream. I shook my head as everyone just stared at me waiting to see what I would do.

"What a waste." I muttered as I chucked at a random person. I threw something at everyone since I hadn;t a clue on who had thrown it. Once again we got into a major food fight but this time no one was there to stop it. We threw until we ran out of food.

I laughed as I looked at myself. I was covered in an assortment of foods, not to mention the icecream from earlier I still hadn't gotten out of. Through my laughter I said "Look at me, I'm a diabetic's worst nightmare. But I bet I taste good now." When I realized what I said I shouted "Not that I'm a canabalist or anything!"

"Do you forgive me?" James said. His smile was kind of awkward, but cute.

"Of course silly!"

I whipped around and things happened all at once. Luke was yelling and another food fight had broken out and all I could think about was how much my family would yell at me as I tracked sticky ice cream and cake through the house.

But, we were partying, and it was great. So why think about the future?

It was getting late so everyone sat down and snuggled with each other beside the fire. I shook people off my shoulders and pulled out my guitar. I had thought it would be a nice addition to the campfire. I placed my fingers in the awkward position of C and strummed the tune of Wake Up by Arcade Fire. People swayed and lit their lighters. It was quite lame, but adorable at the same time.

Everyone seemed to be getting along a lot better than last year. But, this was only just the beginning of summer...

Rose began playing her guitar. I recognized the song but couldn't quite place my finger on it. Giving up I lay back and said "I say we sleep here tonight. Wouldn't that be awesome?"

"Of course silly!" Rose said. That was a relief. That relief only lasted a few seconds when I realized the food fight. I tried to stay out of the way, and luckily, I only got hit once. After that, I was glad to sit down by the fire.

Rose was amazing at the guitar. I played a little, but I wasn't nearly as good as she was. I made a mental note to myself to compliment her on that later. As of right, now, I didn't really want to speak and ruin the peaceful silence. Finally, someone did break it. It was a good thing they did, too. It was getting a little awkward for me.

"I say we sleep here tonight. Wouldn't that be awesome?" Tomas said.

"Ya, that would be really fun!" I said. I saw some other people nod in agreement too.

I noticed that me slowly headbanging quite abnormally to music that didn't really flow the boat for that kind of dancing appeared to seem a little like a nod in answer to Tom's question. I stopped abruptly and looked over at him as he laid back.

"Might get a bit chilly, though," I said.

"Maybe, but camping's great," Tom replied.

I smiled. "I think that depends on the place."

"A camp out? Oh but my hair'll get all salty," I whined. "But... it seems fun. I wonder how we'll do it?"

I thought about what we could do so that we could make sleeping out here possible.

"I could quickly run up to the main cabin and grab some blankets." I suggested. "It won't take too long. I just want to make sure we all want to do this. Is there anyone who doesn't want to stay out here?" I asked, looking around.

When I saw people about to say they weren't I gave them a dark glare and they shut their mouths. Smiling I said "Well I'm gonna take a shower." With that I stood up and dusted the sand off my legs. In several bounds I was in the chilly ocean water and I shouted "All clean!"

No one said anything about not staying out here, so I started running to the main cabin to grab some blankets. I grabbed all I could fit in my arms and carried them back, handing them out to everyone. I gave everyone two so that they could use one to sleep on top of. I knew some people hated sitting on sand.

"This will be fun." I said. Some of us nodded, some looked unsure. Even I was kind of weary about the idea. I was probably going to stay up anyway so that I could make sure nothing happened. I didn't want something to go wrong during the night.

I tried not to think about that, so I set up my sleeping area.
