The International Space Station

The year 2050 marks the completion of the massive, state of the art International Space Station. Now, the testing procedures begin. The United Nations has chosen a group of people from all over the world to go up and live on the space station for a year, to make sure everything is functioning properly. Many of these volunteers are scientists and experts, while others are families of these people, and others still have been hired to take care of more day to day things (cooking, janitorial duties, handyman, etc). The group is flown up in January of 2050 and will not be brought back until one exact year has passed.

During their time in space, they will be completing research that is meant to lead to building a colony on the moon. Excursions to the moon and back are often made by a small rocket type vehicle created around twenty years ago.

You are one of these people on the ISS, eager and willing to spend a year of your life in space. Only, after spending some time on the space station, it becomes apparent that this ‘experiment’ is not just for peaceful scientific purposes. Everyone on the space station, and even everyone on Earth, may be in grave danger. Can those aboard the ISS stop the corrupt government program before disaster strikes?

Setting
A massive space station, of course. It can generally be whatever we make of it in the story. It’s 2050, so technology is advanced. The only things to keep in mind are that there are: sleeping quarters of some sort, a kitchen/cafeteria, bathroom facilities, research labs, a type of lounge area, a nursery/day care for the young kids (if any were to accompany family members)

Strengths – she always tries to do right by people, and doesn’t like anyone to feel left out so she often befriends people who are “rejected” from main society.
Weaknesses – trusting too easily, she never suspects something wrong to be going on
History: Bekah’s mother died when she was very young, leaving Bekah with her father. She never had any other siblings so it’s just been her and her dad. She was very proud of her dad when he was made the head of this project, thinking he would do great things for the world. She isn’t aware of the real agenda of the program.

Appearance: Stands around 5'11. Weights roughly 180 lbs. Buzzed black hair and has brown eyes. He wears the stations standard black and green uniform when on duty and jeans with a white shirt when off duty.
Nationality: Italian
Personality: Lazy and bleak. Enjoys down time and isn't very good with people.
Likes/Dislikes: Enjoys sleeping, red wine, and homemade cooking.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Has a photographic memory which has helped him learn his trade so fast. Unfortunately Thomas Anthony has no motivation for work or anything for that matter.
History: Was born in Venezia, Italy. His mother died in child birth. When he was eight his father took him to America when he found work and grew up there until he graduated high school. Moved back to Italy to attend Universita degli Studi di Firenze in Florence, Italy where he graduated top of his class in mechanical engineering and structural design at the age of twenty-two.

Personality: She is rather smart, but a bit of a klutz. She loves making sarcastic comments and has a lot of wit. But, despite that, she is really nice. She would never intentionaly hurt someone she was friends with. If your not her friend...beware.
Likes/Dislikes: Witty guys, science, her little sister. Dislikes stupid people and dogs.
Strengths/Weaknesses: She is very bright, but can't fight to save her life.
History: raised by parents who wanted nothing more than her and her sister to be models. Her sister was more than happy to oblige, but Taryn wasn't. She wanted to be a scientist. She also loved to write. She published a best seller, Beyond the Bonds of Midnight, when she was 15. But she wrote under a different name, so no one besides her family knows the truth, for now.

Personality: She is really sweet, on the outside. On the inside, she always is forming evil plans and figuring out ways to get back at people who are mean to her. She is very clever, though even her sister doesn't know. She is an excellent liar.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Very clever and a good fighter.
History: Same as her sisters.

Appearance: About 5'4, with pale, vanilla-like skin. She has wide, violet-tinted eyes and dark brown, shoulder length hair. Her figure is toned and athletic from years are tennis.
Nationality: American
Personality: Helen is very loud and outspoken. She is eccentric, fun loving, and had a lot of friends as a kid, and is a perfectionist, not settling for anything else then success.
Likes/Dislikes: She's fond of chocolate chip cookies, boys, and any nerdy scientific books. She doesn't like when people distract her from her work.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Her one strength and fault is that she's very sure of herself. This leads her to be brave and never give up in the face of failure, but she's also cocky.
History: Helen was born on October 22nd, 2022, the daughter of a struggling alcoholic mother. She died was Helen was 7, and from then on she was sent to live in a foster home. She was happy there, but not quite complete. Her gentle nature led her to become very popular, but she was also insecure, taking refuge in her one good class- science. This led her friends to constantly tease her and call her a nerd, and for a time no one in school would even look at her, but she was able to find new friends and continue on with her life, becoming very successful, which is what led to her to being appointed as a scientist on the ISS.

Appearance: Messy brown hair and light brown eyes that are often mistaken for a really muddy moss green. Always seen wearing jeans, a button up t-shirt and a leather jacket or a lab coat if he's been helping his father out.

History: Grew up in Scotland and when the chance to go into space came up, his father, sister and Alex gave up everything to go into space. Alexander's mother has been dead for ten years.

Other: Has a small scar on his stomach from when he got knifed a few months before leaving for the space station..
