This is mostly about the girl's hair. My sketch looks much worse when put through a scanner and onto a computer than in just natural light! I could see all my little mess-ups, all the details. So, I just had to touch the sketch up using Gimp.
Please critique! I don't normally do hair this way, so feedback/help would be awesome. Thanks!

P.S.
Yes, I wish I could fix the odd smudge problem at the bottom of her hair. :(

I really like it. Here are some of my thoughts. The eyes are really well done, the nose seems to be fine, but something about I'm not sure, and the lips also look quite nice.

I would be so happy if you were to color this and draw the rest of her body. If you do then you should make her be a brunette (hint hint).

Ah well nicely done.

The hair looks awesome, mate! In fact, as a whole the picture is very nice...however, if I focus on the nose it looks wrong. But if I'm just looking at the whole face, I barely notice the nose. Probably just me being me. :P

I agree, make the rest of the body! (But make her blonde!)

Haha, thanks guys! I'm not sure which color of hair is better, though. I don't know...

Hey KD!

Thanks for being my first review-requester! XD!
Anyway, that link didn't work, so I'm assuming it's this. And let me get to it.
I like the way you've drawn and shaded the hair. Good work.

Image

Red: Well, here the hair seems to bend back into a pre-drawn outline. I would suggest you to not make it so shaped. Try to make the hair flow seem a bit more natural.

Blue: I love the strokes and the way it started out. Brilliant. My problem is the way you've finished it, because it looks a bit stiff like the end has been sprayed to stay there. Try to give it a fall and a better curve.

Green: I love the way you've done the partition. Good job. :)

Purple: Well, since her hair is all taken to this side, try adding a bit more of depth. What I'm trying to say is, it seems like very little hair (low density.) So, you'll need to fix that.

PM me if you want me to explain anything in detail (if you're confused over what I've written.)
Keep drawing.
Cheers,
~Lava

Ok, review time.
First of all I noticed that the eyes seem to be a little farther apart than is necessary. This didn't look right to me. Also on the eye the dark part of the eye (in the middle) is a little to far up. On the eyebrows the one on the left is higher than the one on the right. I don't know if that is how it is supposed to be.

I think that you should make the nose less pointed. It wouldn't look bad if it wern't rounded, but it is so making it come down more would look better. (I think)

At the part of the hair (litteral part) it seems to poke out a little to much, other than that I love it.

On the lip it juts out on the upper left part of the lip, once again I don't know if that was your intention.

I really like how you shaded the back of the hair. I do think it looks a little stiff though. I think that it would look better darker so that you wouldn't really see the eye so much as the hair, which seems to be your focal point.

Anyway these are just all opinions, art in general is what you want it to be. All in all I think this is really nice.

Keep Drawing

My reality comes to a close as I once again realize that you don't love me, and even if I love you with my everything you will never care.

Hey, there. I'm Mizzle, nice to meet you, Kae. Now, on to the review.
I know you said you were focusing "just on the hair", but I'm going to overview it all, if you don't mind.
I agree with Flower~Child on the fact that the eyes are spaced out quite oddly--too much, you might say!
The nose bothers me, as well, it's just so pointed, and off-angled.
Not to mention the lips--they are very disproportional, and that bothers me quite a lot.
I actually really admire how you did the hair. It does come off as a tad stiff, but enough to bother me so much.
Well done. Keep it up. Questions/comments? PM me.

Thanks for the great reviews! Hadn't noticed these things before. Wow, now that I really think about it, yes, the left eye is much too far away from the nose. Lol, I'm bad with measurements, definitely something I need to work on. I think I'll remake/make a similar portrait based on the corrections. Once again, thanks much!

I know a lot of people have posted their opinions, but I just want to say that I like this a lot. I simply adore her eyes! I have to say that her nose is a bit off, but that really is the only blatant flaw. Other than that, to me it looks great. Good job. :D

Okay, I liked the bottom of her hair, it is very flowy and pretty. I loved her bangs, though they seem a little flat. I think you need more of a part at the top of her head. And lastly, the top of her hair to the left, it is bad. It staops and starts too suddenly.
I loved it though! Great job!

I like it alot! but there is some places where you need to rub out more, because you can still see many places where you have previously drawn but erased.

Kepp drawing!

I really like this, it's nice. The hair seems realistic enough. I'd have to say that you did good on the one eye that's showing, but on the eye that isn't showing, it's not showing enough. I mean, of course it's not supposed to be showing, but the eyebrows are the real problem I think. The eyebrows show up more than the actual eye behind the hair, and it looks just a tiny bit weird. Also with the eybrows, it makes her look sad when you look at them with one side of the lips. But she looks kind of happyish when you look at the eys with the right side of the lips. Just saying, but I'm not an artist at the least bit, so I don't know what's going on half the time :)
But I really like it!
