Will Lanahan:

I checked the time on my phone. Almost time for the party. I stuffed popcorn into my mouth and Kylee, my sister, sat down. When the comercial was over she rolled her eyes "Aren't you a little old to be watching Chowder?" I threw a paice of popcorn at her "Aren't you a little young to be dressing like that?"

She put her hands in prayer position "Can I please come to the party with you? I promis not to get in the way!" I placed the bag of popcorn on the coffee tab;e and said "Yeah, right, I'm going to let my little sister come to my friends party. In your dreams pipsqueek." She stuck her lip out and said "I'm telling dad!" She flew up before I could grab her. I minute later dad called "Will, why don't you let her go to the party?"

I sighed "Dad, they're my friends! Not hers! It's not like anyone's going to talk to her." after a short pause he said "She's going with you or you're not going." I pounded my fists against the couch. Kylee always got her way. She came in with a triumphant look on her face. I kicked the back of her knee and she toppled over. I bolted up the stairs and slammed my door. "Stupid Kylee." I muttered to myself.

I pinched Lana, “A belly ring!” I said doubtfully. I shrugged, “Sure why not, it will suit you.”

She grinned happily, “You really think?”

I nodded, “You know maybe you should get angel bites also?” Lana scoffed fiddling with her fringe.

“No thanks! I’ll just go for the belly ring. I mean, if you want angel bites than don’t let me stop you…”

I shook my head, I only had my nose and ears done, if anything I would probably get snake bites but, than again probably not.

“Who’s taking us to the party?” I asked pulling on my shoes.

“I thought we’d walk a little,” Lana muttered.

I stood in front of the mirror. It was cracked in places, breaking my reflection into uneven segments. I let out a sigh and grabbed my bag. This party better be wroth the time. My feet pounded on the stairs and I faintly hear my Aunt yell at me. She hated when I ran down the stairs. I yelled out a goodbye, and shut the door behind me.

The air felt cool on my skin as I walked down the street. I could faintly hear music and a dog barking. I stared at the darkened gravel and put my ear buds in. August Burns Red.
I didn't even notice how long it took. I just enjoyed the music until I looked up, and was standing at the door of Charlies house. Rich prep. The doorbell echoed eerily inside.

Lana:

I grabbed Meggie's hand and half pulled half dragged her up to the door. I opened it and let myself in. I spotted Zander and elbowed Meggie's rib cage "Check it out, your boyfriend came." She elbowed me back "Check it out, Lanahan's sister is here." I looked around and I saw Lanahan sitting on the couch miserably with his sister chattering next to him.

When he spotted us he tugged on Kylee's hair and left her sitting by herself. He wrapped his arm around my waist and buried his face into my hair "Thank you so much for saving me." He said loudly so I could hear him over everything else. He let go of my waist and took Meggie's hand. He squeezed it as a thank you and said "Your boyfriend is staring at you. She snatched her hand away "He is not my boyfriend. I just met him today."

Lanahan grinned cockily and said "Well if you don't mind me leaving I'm going to go. Thanks for saving me from Kylee." When Lanahan walked out of sight I nudged Meggie and said "Go ask Zander to dance"

"Yeah right." She scoffed.

I inched away slowly and when I knew she could grab for me and bolted for Zander. I threw my arm around his neck and forced him to dance. I waved Meggie over but she shook her head. I rolled my eyes

I knew I'd get in trouble for leaving her later but at the moment I didn't care. I wandered around looking for someone I knew to talk to. Several girls tried to get me to dance. Each time I danced for a minute and then continued on. I spotted Charlie and headed for him. When I got close enough he nearly shouted "Dude! What's your sister here for?" I shrugged "She pulled the daddy's little girl act."

Charlie laughed at me. I punched his shoulder and he punched me back. I laughed and said "I can't find anyone else here."

"That's because Charlie invited the entire school, it appears," I put in. I was wearing my Joker face, a piece of art labored over for forty minutes with nothing put the white paste, the darkest eyeshadow in the stores, and lipstick. I personally felt that it could have been better, but by then I was running slightly late.

"Actually, to be precise, he invited the entire school and let them bring whoever they wanted, thus explaining the college students."

"College students?" Charlie said, turning to see where these gatecrashers lay in hiding.

"Yeah, over by the buffet table. You don't want to kick them out, they look sort of... tough and let's leave it at that. Anyway, Will, you really shouldn't have brought your sister, she's kinda... annoying me. And by 'annoying me', I mean 'I am about to rip her head off'. She dissed the facepaint."
This guy is so evil you could put him in between two slices of bread and call him an evil sandwich.

"Do you honestly think I wanted her to come? She pulled the daddy's little princess act." Axly shook her head "I can't believe she's here. I honestly want to tear her to shreds right now." I laughed loudly "Now you know how I feel everyday." I stretched my arms and said "And don't let her get to you. Your face paint is awesome. She just had nothing better to do since she didn't know anyone."

I felt a strong urge to walk over towards them but I decided I'd hit the buffet table first. Wiggling my fingers at Zander and Lana, I left the two of them to dance. But I couldn't help the pang of jealousy.

"Seriously Meggs! He's not even your boyfriend, or maybe her is or maybe not anyway back to the point! You shouldn't feel jealous!" Grabbing at a chip I dunked it into the dip and flicked it up onto my tongue.

"To skilled!" I laughed trying not to let it fall. This is why I loved parties; THE ALL YOU COULD EAT FREE FOOD! Grabbing at the coke I began to drink from the top, making the poeple going for it turn away from the offer.

I smiled mischievoulsy, "Would you like some?" I waved it to know one in particular.
"Yes actually but than you went and got your germs on it!" I looked down to see a young staring up at me. I smiled at her, "What are you doing here?" I asked sipping at more coke.

"Partying what else?" she gave a quick shrug looking around for another drink.
"Could you please get me a drink?' she asked suddenly turnign her innocent glance towards me. I nodded grabbing at the lift bottle throwing it at her.

"I meant with a cup!" She said catching the bottle. I laughed at her, "But than you don't get the whole thing to yourself!"

I thought I'd try and bring this back.

Charlie

I loved parties. I loved how they made me feel. It felt as though the night would never end, as if everything in my life was perfect. No parents, no relatives. Nothing.

This was the longest amount of time my father had ever disappeared before. I liked it. He'd left me nearly two thousand dollars, but I'd spent it all on that night. The food alone almost cost one thousand dollars! Oh well, he'd be back in a few days. I could live without any money for the next two days or so.

I lay down on my dad's unmade bed and shut my eyes. The music was blaring downstairs, but I managed to blank it out. I was about to open my eyes when I heard a soft, pretty voice.

"Hey," I heard as I opened my eyes. "This your party?"

Standing in front of me was a tall, brown haired girl. She was definitely one of the collage students. I swallowed hard. Wow... she was nice. Her plump lips were curved into a small grin.

"Uh..." I began. "Yeah,"

"It's really good." She giggled, sitting on the bed next to me.

I could feel myself getting redder and redder. Why was I such a geek with hot girls? I was the most confident guy in the entire school. But when it came to girls... well, that was another story. As I began to feel myself sweating, the girl smiled and leaned in towards me.

"Be right back!" I suddenly jolted up off the bed.

Without looking back, I literally sprinted into the spare room. Jesus Christ, I needed to stop doing that. She was hot, she was about to kiss me, and I ran. Great. Well done Charlie.

I sat on one of the boxes in the spare room and looked at the dirty floor. I was about to stand up when I noticed a pile of paper, next to the box I was sitting on. I reached down and picked it up. I stared at it wide eyed. They were bills. Lot's of bills. Some of them had numbers I didn't even know existed on them. That's when I realised what should have been obvious. My dad wasn't coming back. Ever.
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

I watched Meggie go. She missed the whole point of this but I continued dancing with Zander. What was the point in stopping now? We were already dancing. Part of me wanted to stay but the other part wanted to go with Meggs.

Meggie~

I walked up the stairs staring around the house. It looked like a pretty expensive house, though not something that would make you gawk at when ever you walked by. I looked up at a picture; a boy sat on swing his mouth agape with laughter. Behind him was a large looking man pushing the swing up high above his own head.

I stared in closer, it looked like Charlie on the swing. I laughed and continued walking up the stairs. A pretty college girl walked out of the room staring around the room absently.
"Did you see someone come through here?" The girl asked puffing out her chest. I shook my head looking away from her, this girl was not afraid of her...her...yeah. I walked past her heading for the bottom room.

Most of the doors were closed, though only one was left ajar. I moved towards it and knocked slightly hoping it wasn't a careless couple getting it down.
"What," I heard a wounded voice say behind the thin door.
I frowned slightly pressing my ear to the thin frame, "Charlie is that you?"
I heard movement of paper and what sounded like a curse. I stepped backwards awaiting the door to open but it only clicked shut.

I pouted my lips, "Charlie?" I heard him grunt a response. "Are you alone?"
"Yes," He snapped.
I stopped, I could hear a faint sound of sobbing but I wasn't sure if it was Charlie.
"What's wrong?" I asked, when he didn't reply I began to rattle the door.
"Charlie!" I demanded, "Open this darn door!"

Charlie

Go away. Just go away. My head was spinning frantically and my entire body was shaking. I shoved my aching head into my hands, forcing myself not to cry. What was I going to do? I had no money, my dad had disappeared, the house was in millions of dollars of debt, and there was some stupid, annoying girl banging on the door.

"Charlie?!" Meggie was shouting now. "Open the door!"

I suddenly shot my head up. Maybe he hadn't gone, maybe I was just overreacting. I sprang to my feet and headed towards the door. Shoving it open, also shoving Meggie out of the way, I ran towards my father's room. I could hear Meggie calling behind me, but I just ignored her.

There were about eight people in my dad's room, all of them drunk out of their minds. That hot girl with the big tits was there two, but I just ignored her. I ignored everyone. Shoving some guy with a can of cider out of the way, I opened my dad's closet. The second I saw what was inside, I collapsed onto the alcohol stained floor. Because inside the closet, there was nothing.

The music blared as my head spun. I could feel myself shaking violently as I dove my head into my hands. I didn't care who saw me, I just wanted it all to stop.

"Charlie?!" Meggie knelt down beside me. "What the hell is going on?"

I didn't answer her. I just sat there, my head in my hands. This wasn't happening, this couldn't be happening.
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

"Christ, Megs, what's going on? I mean, just... well... is everything okay, Charlie?" I ventured, stepping through the door to the sight of Charlie practically spazzing out. I'd been chasing down a college guy with the promise of fake IDs, and had gotten as far as this room when I saw them.

"This is not happening, this is not happening," he was whispering to himself, his eyes scrunched up. That had to explain the tears; Charlie didn't cry, Charlie... well, he didn't cry. He wasn't the type.

"Hey, what's up with the loser over there?" some slag sneered, while a few others sniggered in agreement.

"Get out, alright? This is the guy whose party you're all crashing," I snapped.

"Whoah, what's with the freak show?" the head-slag, as I began to call her in my head, snorted.

"Yeah, kid, I mean, you don't look cool, you just look weird."

"Maybe, maybe not. The point is, I could call the cops right here, right now, and I wouldn't care if everyone hated me. Point is, I just don't give a crap. Capeesh?"

Lana:

When the song ended I went to find Meggie. I climbed the stairs where a bunch of people flooded from "Meggie?" I called down the hall "We're in here." she called back. I entered a room and Charlie was on the ground crying. My eyebrows knitted together and I looked around. My eyes landed on the empty closet.

It didn't take a brain surgeon to figure out what happened. I dropped to the floor next to Charlie and cradeled his head in my hands "Oh Charlie. It's going to be all right." He shook his head "No it won't." I held his head firmly and forced him to look at me "Charlie, it will be okay. I'll make sure of it." He shook his head again. "Charlie, it's okay. You can come live with me if you want. My parents like you, they'd be okay with it if they knew what happened."

I looked up at Lana. Did she seriously think that everything would be okay, just like that? What about the bills, the millions of dollar worth of bills?!

"No." I suddenly stood up, forcing everyone around me to back away.

I stared at the three girls in front of me. Their eyes were full of sympathy. They felt sorry for me... I hated it. I had no idea why, but seconds later, I was laughing hysterically.

"This is funny innit!" I chuckled. "He's gone! I always knew he was a bastard, but this is just hysterical!"

While I continued laughing my head off, Lana, Meggie and Axley were simply staring at me as if I had three heads. A few seconds later, Axley spoke.

"Charlie...?" She sounded weary. "Are you okay...?"

Okay? Yep, I was fine! Perfect! I'd never been better! After hearing what Axley said, I started laughing even more.
