I yawn, rubbing my eyes. If only I could see the sunlight...but I can't. There aren't any windows in my room...all because of my endless screaming.

I stand up and get dressed. A worker walks in, carrying the daily tranquilizer shot. She sticks it in my arm. Its supposed to calm me down, but I really think it makes me scream more. Especially if the shot accidentally draws blood...
Sorrow lasts through this night
I'll take this piece of you,
and hold for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole... as you flew right through me.

Name: Doesn't really have one. She isn't adressed by anything really. She calls herself Madilyn but no one knows it. She got that name from a memory she had.

Age: (12-17, workers may be older.) 13

"Defect": Whenever she has memories of the past, she has excruciating headaches and gives off some of the pain, giving horrible headaches to anyone 100 feet from her.

Appearance: (If their defect affects their appearance, write it here) She has shoulder length black-brown hair, that is messy and tangled since she is always pulling at it when she has her headaches. Her eyes are a deep dark brown, so close to black that are almost always bloodshot from the tears. She doesn't talk much because the daily screaming damaged her throat permanently.

Personality: (If their defect affects their personality, write it here). Very quiet. She likes to read and stays in her room most of the time. All of the patients are older than her, so she can't really relate or talk to them. She tries to avoid woman and people with blue eyes as she gets headaches more often when they are around.

Bio: She is an amnesiac and remembers almost nothing of her life. She was found by police wandering the highway. They were just going to send her to social services when she had a fit of some sort when the female cop started to speak to her and fell to her knees, screaming while holding her head in her hands. The police got the headaches almost immediatly after though it was only about 10% of the pain, she felt. The FBI was called in and they sent her to the reform center, where she sits in her room all day trying to figure out why this happens to her. She is exceedingly smart and whenever she remembers anything even if it causes her headaches she writes it down in her notebook, which she has with her all the time.

Other: Hates female nurses

Madelyn (No one knows that this is her name) (Sorry it's long :D)

I looked down at the lined paper of the tattered notebook, rereading what I had written the previous night. The handwriting was extremely messy and the pen had ripped through the page at one point.

Precious ceramics. The whispers of the roses. Sinking delicatly in the ocean. Never heard of again.

I flipped back to the first page and read all of it again, smiling as I reached the 17th page, by far my favorite.

The girl sat at the shore, her eyes bright, her hair damp. She was in a simple white dress and barefoot, no older than 18. She had a child at her side, no more than two years of age. the child was in a light pink dress and also barefoot. They were both smiling and laughed as the water from the waves tickled their feet. The sky began to darken and the shadows wrapped around them. They stood and hurried to the small cottage not far from the sea, certain someone was waiting for them. "Madelyn, baby. Let's go," The girl said, her voice high and cheery. She picked up the little girl and carried her until they opened the door and

That's where the screaming started. It was still a nice thing to think about even if it brought small throbs of pain to my head. I hadn't gotten a good memory/vision thing in a while and the stuff I saw last night wasn't helping. I heard a knock at the door and a male nurse came in.

"Are you coming to breakfast?" he asked. I nodded my head and got up, my hands tightly wrapped around the notebook. I walked to the bathroom and washed my face. My hair was as usual, tangled and jutting out at strange angles. I forced my curls to comply with the harsh strokes of the brush I had just picked up. I gave up about a minute later and just put my hair up in a ponytail, using on of the many black hairbands I had on my wrist. After finally finishing, I went back out and crossed the room, opened the white metal door and walked out. I passed the room of Felicia, who was currently drawing blood from her arms by scratching letters into them. I reached the double doors of the cafeteria and opened them.

The cafeteria was about twice the size of our rooms, with large tables that people rarely sat at. Most patients eat in their rooms or in the lounge, leaving the cafeteria for the nurses and doctors. I liked it better in here, there were people so I wouldn't feel alone, but at the same time they didnt bother me and ask nosy questions. I went and got eggs and toast then went and sat in the solitary chair in the corner. I flipped through the pages of my notebook once more, but the light was suddenly blocked by something. I raised my head and saw someone.

*Leaving it open for anyone :D*

(Hey, jasmine, your "defect" is fine, but can you not have her spread her headaches? That's sort of super-power-ish, and that's not what I was going for. Everything else about your profile is fine, though :D)

Name: Elijah "Eli" Server

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Defect: His moods change drastically depending on what is going on in his surroundings. For example, if some one's crying in a corner, he'll become ten times as depressed and full of hopelessness. If there is a fight, he'll get so angry he'll join in the fight. Doctors have said it's "bipolar" but it's much to strong and his mood changes much too quickly to even be that. And he can't control himself because his "new mood" takes over and he flips out depending on whats going on. He got so angry one time he almost strangled his older brother to death. He can't help himself.
However, if there are too many moods in one surrounding, he'll either pick up on the strongest one, or he won't pick up on any. It's safest for him to be in a crowd because there are too many emotions to pick up on. Either that, or being alone.

Personality: He's detached and acts like he just doesn't care. He's scared to get too close to people because he doesn't want to hurt anyone. He's afraid that if one person gets too angry that his mood will change and he'll really hurt someone. He would do anything to get rid of his "defect." When he's not affected by a mood, he acts relaxed and calm like any other guy.

Bio: His parents divorced because neither knew what was wrong with their son. The doctors said he mimicked others emotions, which is a rare symptom of the bipolar diagnosis he received. But when Eli and his brother got into a huge fight where he nearly killed his brother, his mother said it was too much and sent him away. So Eli, for her, stay at this horrible place in hopes that one day he can go home to her, normal.

Other: Up for love. And he would never admit it, but he's scared of what he can do, but he also kind of likes it. He likes that he's...different, so to speak. Not like everyone else. Although, he'd love to get rid his "defect" so he can just go home.

I make sure I am calm and happy before I go talk to Eli. I put that emtion to the front of my mind, then walk into the room.

"Hi Eli." I say. The other nurses had been to busy to check on him.

"Hi Mai." he says. Usually I get mad when people call me that, but I am careful not to feel anything that could make him upset.

"How have you been feeling?" I ask him.

"Better, you know, I think it is working." he said. I have been secretly working with him to control his emotions, by exposing tough emtions to him slowly on low levels.

"You ready to work on it a bit?" I ask.

"Sure," he sighs. He liked I was helping him, but he was allways afraid he would hurt me. I pull from memory this morning. I was irritated at my little brother. I let the irritatedness take over me a little, become a main emotion. I instantly see him frown. I quickly let happiness take over again.

We continue like that a bit. Each time I push the emotion a little harder. Eventually I can tell he is about to get upset. I leave my thoughs back to calm things, calming myself instantly.

"How was that?" I ask him.

"Better than usual, but on the second to last one..." he trails off.

"Your doing better, I can tell. I am proud of you. And, by the way, I brought you breakfast." I hand him the tray, then leave the room.

>Hey there, I know that I look like servant4christ but I'm really dragonet. I forgot my password, so for now I'm using my friend's account<

Adam

Stitch whined and layed her head on Adam's lap.

"What's wrong with...?" Riddic asked pointing to the dog.

"Stitch? Oh she's just restless, she's used to having a never-ending backyard to run around in," Adam answered patting Stich's head. A never ending backyard with creaks and woods to play in, Adam thought homesick. His mind started to wander to his little country home, and his eyes turned gray. He remembered all of the fun times he and stitch had spent together. He remembered all of his other pets too; all of his cats, his rabbits, his other dog, and his little dairy calf. He rememberd his family. His mom, patient; his dad, a hard working farmer; his sister, his play mate; and his brothers, bullys. His brothers were jelous because he was his mom's favorite. They alwats picked on him because of his eyes. When ever he was sad , they would call him a "sissy"; whenever he was jelous, they would rub it in that they had what he didn't; whenever he saw somthing or someone that he liked and his eyes turned pink, they would tease.

"Adam!?" Riddic called again.

"Hm?" Adam replied snapping out of his day dream.

"I've been calling your name for the past five minutes!" Riddic said. Adam gave him a look that meant well what do you want?

"Your eyes turned gray, what emotion is that?" Riddic asked.

Without warning, Adam's eyes flaired. "Why do you need to know? It's none of your buisness." Adam stood up. "They're my emotions, my life!" Adam was yelling now and everyone was looking at him. Some of the nurses started taking cautious stepps towards him. "My life is not an open book that you can just read!"

Riddic took a step back and raised his arms in defence. Seeing his friend's reaction, Adam realized what he was doing and he shook his head to clear it. His eyes turned back to brown. "I'm sorry man," he mumbled, "I just hate the fact that people can see the way I feel. It's really frustraiting to me... My brothers used to tease me about it," He said trying to explain.

"S'ok, buddy," Riddic said slapping him on the back, "Now what do you say about that game of scrabble?"

Adam smiled weakly and followed Riddic to the game closet.

A nurse walked up to Adam and put a hand on his arm. "I think you should take a break now, Adam, and go back to your room," she said, using a fake smile.

"Really, It's ok, I'm fine now," Adam tried to reasure her.

But the nurse didn't leave, "I think it would be best--"

"Naw, he's cool," Riddic told her. She eyed the two boys uncertainly, but finally turned around and walked away.

Adam sighed, "Thanks man," he told Riddic.

"No problem."

Riddic:
I smiled and ruffled his hair. My skin was slowly cooling down back to normal from Adam's outburst. Leave it to me to feel extremely hurt by that, I rocked to at lease 120. I got out the Scrabble and set it up on the table.
" Twenty minutes till' group!" The voice of the intercome rang through the air. I groaned and let myself flop down, I hated group, its when I get most emotional.
" Bleh," I said simply as Adam sat down with a frown on his face, I tried not to look at his eyes.
" What's wrong? Group isn't so bad." I scoffed at him.
" You'll learn to hate it," Rey spoke up. He gave a confused look but I just shook my head at him. I wanted to ask him what all his colors meant-so I knew more about him-, but I quickly decided against it. I was just a bit too nosy these days.
Reyna:
I swatted at Hansel and Gretel-the muffins- as they danced in front of my face, singing nonesense.
" Go away guys, please," I begged them silently. I tried to block them as I crawled over to where Adam and Riddic were.
" I don't even know why you try, Adam," I laughed," he's just going to kick your-"
" Can't blame me for trying," he sighed. His dog curled up by his feet, Stitch I think was her name.
" Let the boy try," Riddic said strenly, arraging his letters. I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
" That's what you always say." Twenty minutes passed like melted butter and soon everyone was gathered in a circle for group.
" Who would like to share first," Mailyn asked while sitting down. I sighed and started to daydream.

"Who would like to share first," I ask, sitting down in the hard plastic chair. No one raises there hands. I notice Felicia's absance, sigh, and make a note on my clipboard. No doubt she was writing music.

Silence.

"You know, I would share, but in case you haven't noticed, I don't really have an exciting life." I say.

Silence.

"Fine, Adam, you go first." I say.

He grumbles something, his eyes flicker red, then fade to brown.

"Okay, my week was better. I improved on keeping my emotions in check. I could work on not letting little things get to me. Are you happy?" He grumbles. I sigh and roll my eyes. He sounds like he is an actor forced to read a script.

"You know guys, it would be nice if you did anything, anything, to help me. Okay, I had good news for you, but I might have to hold that off." My voice is calm and leveled, but I am still annoyed. I had gotten them a total of three hours outside a week. That was a big leap for me, and I was proud of it. Now, I was just upset.

Silence.

"Well, my good news is you each get a total of three hours outside a week." I say, standing up, and then tell them to go back to their rooms. It would be nice if I felt apreciated at all, ever.

Alec:

I didn't go to group again. I didn't want to accidentally touch someone and see how they'd die again... I'd spend the rest of my life trying to save them, especially if it was some kind of freak accident.

I sighed and stood up. I snuck over to the doorway and peeked out, watching as the other kids came back to their rooms. I wondered if the new nurse had noticed my absence or not.

I shrugged and left the room. It didn't matter if she did or not. I was bound to see her again.

I entered the lunch hall and frowned. It was her again, the girl who freaked out about blue eyes. I only knew that because we'd meet in the hall and she had screamed and ran back to her room... And who was that standing over her? A new kid or a new worker? Either way, it was a guy.

I spun on my heel and left the room. No way was I going to make her freak out again. I bumped into someone as I walked down the hall and grabbed their arm to keep them upright. I didn't realise it was the new nurse until her death flashed into my mind. Damn it, Alec! No gloves!

Mailyn danced down a derelict hall, much older than she was now. I squeezed my eyes shut, wincing. I didn't want to see this. She turned a corner and....

I let her go and ran back to my room, leaving her confused. Damn it. Why did she have to walk into me like that? Now I knew how she'd die...

I flung myself onto my bed and buried my face in my pillow. Hopefully no one would disturb me for now.

Riddic: I said bye to everyone and stalked off towards my room. Outside time! That's wonderful, I can't recall how long its been since I've played Volleyball. I'd have to remind myself to thank Mailyn, she really is a gem.
I went over to my desk and took out a 200 piece jigsaw puzzle. Hey, I had to do something while I was confined in here. The bell rang for lunch and I jolted out of my room. I was first in the lunch line and was bouncing up and down with excitment. My temp raised a few degrees, but who could blame me? Today was pasta day!
Reyna:
I sluggishly climbed out of bed. I really needed to either A. Stop dreaming or B. Take more pills. This was just getting annoying. I clasped my hands to my head and squeezed my eyes shut.
" Go away," I hissed," please!" But their voices still rang through my ears. Annoying, screaming, highpitched, low pitched, whispering, I didn't matter! Because they were all saying the same thing over and over.
" Play with us, Reyna! We won't hurt you." I screamed and threw myself against the walls, they were thinking smart when they got my room padded.
" Leave me alone," I shreiked. Their voices still tore at my brain.
" Play with us..."
" No!" My room door burst open and soon my thrashing body was lifted into the air.
" Get her a shot," one nurse called.
" Did she take her meds this morning," another said frantically. I didn't actually, I hate those meds. I screamed again as the lunch bell rang through my ears. Opening my eyes I saw all my little creations crowding me. They threw me into the "nurse's office" just as kids poured into the hallway.

The bell rings for lunch. I ignore it, and stay in my room, just happy looking outside. I had my own room here now, because it was easier than haveing my mom drive me here every morning.

I go to the nurses office to check on Reyna.

"How is she doing?" I asked one of the nurses.

"Not very good." She replies. Ascream is heard from another room.

"She needs to go outside." I tell them. She had missed the chance to go outside earlier.

"No, she had better stay inside."

"Let me take her outside."

"Your funeral."

I walk into the room where Renya is. I take her hand and lead her outside.

Alec:

The bell for lunch rang but I didn't get up. Her death was replaying in my mind... I sighed and sat up, looking towards the window.

I needed to get that image out of my head...

I rubbed my forehead and got up, walking over to the window. It was sunny outside and there were a few kids enjoying that sunshine. I sighed longingly. I wanted to go outside, but what if I touched someone again? Like with Mailyn?

I left my room at run, heading for the door outside.
