The Defects

One out of a billion. That's what the doctors say about you. You are a problem child, a defect. You were born with a severe, unexplainable condition, and you parents couldn't deal with it. You are in an asylum of sorts, a reform center. You may also be a worker.
Please Note: No offence at all is intended towards anyone with real impairments. This is solely about unique problems that would not happen, to common knowledge, in real life.

Rules:
Your "defect" must be completely original. For example (don't take these): Growing a new limb whenever one of yours is chopped off, obsession with pebbles, inability to stop talking.
No god-modding
No killing off w/o permission
Minimal violence
Minor gore allowed if...necessary.
No sexuality, but I suppose romance is okay.
These are not super-powers. The time is modern day.
Minimal swearing.

Name: Felicia Rose

Age: 14

"Defect": She compulsively writes music. She is virtually unable to stop when an idea hits her, and is almost constantly being flooded with ideas.

Personality: She cannot show much personality as her brain is constantly forcing her to write music.She often cries as she writes. She usually speaks gibberish or states musical notes if she talks at all.

Bio: On her second birthday, she saw a piece of sheet music and had a seizure.When she came to, her defect began. Her parents actually sold some of her music and made a lot of money, but when the government found out, she was taken to the center. She has been here since she was three and a half. She needs constant supervision, IV feeding, and a tranquilizer to go to sleep.

Other: If she has nothing to write with, she will carve into her arms with her fingernails.

Name: Reyna Mince
Age: 15
Defect: She imagines things, but when she imagines them they're apart of her everyday life. She talks to them and they talk back to her. The bad part is they torment her and torture her, often causing her to act out in destructive ways. She will do whatever they say no matter what.
Apperance: Shoulder length, dark, choppy hair. Distant, light blue, big eyes, she's 5"5. She has scars and cuts all over her arms and legs which is why she always wears hoodies and pants.
Personality: She struggles to ignore them but can't, causing her to isolate herself at times. When they're not bothering her too much she's usually a friendly person.
History: She grew up in Nevada with her mother, father, and older brother. Her mother was a writer and her father was a animator, causing her to have a naturally active imagination. Her imagination was praised at first, because of it she wrote the best stories in her high school. But then it all got out of control. The characters she would think up would suddenly spring forth from her imagination into her daily life, causing her immense trouble.
Other: When "they" really start to bother her she goes to extremes to "get them out of her head." She once banged her head on a wall to the point of unconciousness so she would stop hearing and seeing them. Her room is padded and all sharp objects are put safely out of reach during her fits so she can't hurt herself.

Name: Lydia Jackson

Age: 15 almost 16

"Defect": She will flat out begin screaming and yelling random things. She has moments where she sees something to do with death and she'll scream and attack. She attacks people, resulting in the person's death. Her eyes change bright orange when the "defect" takes place.

Appearance:

Her eyes change orange when her "defect" takes place. Her hair is reddish blond, and when her eyes are normal they are bright blue.

Personality: She is very quiet, unless her "defect" takes place. Then she screams and runs all over the place. That is why she is usually alone, she wants to be alone. She doesn't want people to think she is a freak. She is alone and quiet. She also has a western style...

Bio: She used to live in Texas with her mom and dad, being an only child. When she was thirteen she was watching a horror movie with her mom, once she saw the blood, she attacked her mom, her eyes turning orange. The attack resulted in her mother's death. Lydia claimed someone had come in and murdered her mom, because she did not remember exactly what had happened. Later, she saw a horror movie with her friends, and once again, in the theater everyone saw her attack and kill her best friend. After the government found out about her, they sent her to the asylum.

Other: She is up for love if it ever came. Her nails, teeth, fists, etc. are checked every day to make sure that she won't harm herself or others. If she ever feels the need to scream and kill she is given a tranquilizer shot. She has tranquilizer shots in her room to give to herself is need be.

Name: Adam

Age: 15

Defect: His eye's change color depending on his mood. red=angry/annoyed, dark blue=sad, green=jealous, white=scared/worried/doesn't-know-what-to-do, yellow=happy/excited, gray=deep-in-thought/not-paying-attention, pink=love, light blue=calm/tired, purple=pain, brown=his normal eye color.

appearance: Height=regular (sorry, I know that's not a very good description, but I'm a girl, I don't know how tall guys are, so give me a break) Hair=blond/orange, short, slightly spiky in the front. Skin=slightly tan. Build=lean yet sturdy.

personality: He's always been shy because of the way people treat him because his "defect." But now that he's in a reform center with other defected people he's determined to make friends. He hates the fact that people can see the way he feels, he wears sun glasses out in public. He loves nature; animals, trees, rain, rocks, creek, and the sorts (that's the main reason he hates the reform center, because he's locked inside) He's usually very obedient and good, but when he has his moments he can be very sneaky and mischievous. (He doesn't like it when people tell him what to do with out so much as a "please", it's times like that when he has his 'rebel moments').
Because of his defect he is very emotional, example: when he's mad at someone he will seriously hurt them; when he's sad, he will bawl; when he's scared, he will really freak out; when he's deep in thought, not even a lit up, blinking, giant sign that says "ADAM!" could get his attention. Because of his 'over-emotionalness' he is constantly fighting his emotions.

Bio: To keep people from finding out about his 'defect' his parents moved to the country. He is also homeschooled. So he's used to being free and happy. He's always had his animals, family, and never-ending backyard to keep him going. But one day, on his 15th birthday, he went to a big city to celebrate his birthday. While they were in the city, someone made Adam mad and his eyes turned red and he started a fight. To make a long story short, the government convinced (forced) Adam's parents to take Adam to the reform center. Adam has been there for three days now.

Other: He was able to convince the people at the reform center to let him take Stitch, his pet dog, with him. Stitch is a mutt, she looks like a border collie but smaller and has a couple of brown splotches. She is extremely well-trained and obedient, though she only answers to Adam.

Name: Riddic Balé
Age: 16
Defect: Whenever he feels too much emotion his skin gets hot to the point where if you touch him you'd probably get third degree burned.
Apperance: Shaggy, winter colored hair -a blueish white-that hangs just below his ears. He has deep, muddy brown eyes that never show any emotion. He's always clad in baggy blue jeans and a plainly colored tee.
History: He was born in Alaska and was transported here at the age of 15, his parents don't even visit anymore. He was always emotional, the over reacting drama freak, and it seemed as if he cheeks were always red from blushing. He knows close to nothing about his childhood because of a car accident at the age of 15-before he came here- that caused him to lose his memory. All he remembers is a plush frog, which he hasn't yet made sense of.
Persona: Because of his condition, he tones it down a bit-pills help-, but he still gets his moments. He tries to be quiet, laid back, calm, and cool, but fails him sometimes. Most times though he will be collected.
Other: He plays gutair really well, helps keep himself calm. He's also a pro at Scrabble.

Name: Alice Greenwich

Age: 15 almost 16

"Defect": Can see peoples aura's above their heads. Often will see peoples personalities also making her react to them the way she sees them.

Personality: Often quiet, Alice rarely peeps a word unless forced to. She becomes very uncomfortable when she cannot only see others emotions but their personality. Depending on what she can see she'll change her way to act in a formal matter which will not conflict with the others personality.

Alice isn't quite sure of herself because she is always changing her personality not to make others dissapointed, this makes her rathers distant to others and often touchy.

Bio: Alice hasn't always had this defect. When she was fourteen her father had been driving her home from soccer training when their car crashed into anothers sending flames everywhere. Alice suffered a severe hit to the head forcing her into a coma for almost a year.

When her mother was about to pull life support, Alice woke up and began to see the things around her and people for who they really are!

Other: Up for love, if you can handle someone always knowing things about you before you are even sure of what emotions you are dealing with.

Age: 17.

"Defect": If he touches someone or something, he can see how that person will die or something the object will be or has been connected to.

Appearance: Tall with dark blue eyes and black hair.

Personality: Alec is usually kind and caring until he shakes your hand and sees how you'll die. This often causes him to freak out a little and avoid you for anything from a few hours to a few days.

Bio: Alec's defect started at a young age when he hugged an elderly family member and started crying after seeing how she would die. It continued throughout his school life until one day during school he was called into the office and introduced to stranger. They shook hands, Alec saw how this person would die, they noticed and he's ended up in this reform place.

Other: Alec is not a touch-orientated person. He'll do anything not to touch you or anything you own. Alec also knows how he will die, though he can't remember all the details. He is often seen wearing black leather gloves.
