There are quite a few things that I really need to improve on! I'm aware that I need to press harder with the pencil, for example. Sorry about the size, by the way, photobucket wouldn't let me resize it...
Anyway, be as harsh as you like!

Hi Meghan! I actually really like this; you've got some nice talent that I really envy! Your shading is terrific, and I admire your ability to draw lips, which is a skill I completely lack, lol.
Anyway, there were two things that could probably be improved upon.
First off, as I'm aware, Haley's got red hair with blonde highlights, right? Blonde and Red are two colors with entirely different shades, so you might want to look at picture of her and shade the hair accordingly.
Secondly, it seems as though she's either got a really big chin or she's stuffing herself with fruit. Either way, the chin looks unnatural and somewhat bloated-but it shouldn't be anything that you can't fix.
I really liked this! Do me a favor and send me a PM if you post any new artwork, okay?

On the photo that I drew, Hayley's hair was actually fully red. That's why I didn't use different colour shades in the hair! All though, I do prefer her hair when it's red and blonde
As for the chin, I agree with you! I thought that it looked a bit oddly shaped. I'm pretty sure that she wasn't stuffing her face wit fruit though in the picture! I'll need to be more careful next time when it comes to chins.
Also, it took me a while to be able to draw lips without them looking like a pair of shriveled prunes!
That's an awesome drawing. I really love it. I fail at drawing humans. Anyway, besides what Ellie has said, here are a few of my comments.
1.Great lips. Seriously! 2.Hair. I see the hair as weirdly lifeless. I'm not sure I can explain it to you, but here goes. The topmost outline seems weird. The dent is o show that her hair flows out from that point. You'll need to give hair around that a slight bumpy effect. 3.The chin gives a slight masculine touch. You'll need a little touch up on that.
That's 'bout. Keep drawing! ~Lava

Hello, Megan! You probably don't know who I am. I've been sort of absent lately. But never the matter! I'm really liking where this is going. You've got all the basic elements in this picture. Now it just needs some embellishing. Bearing in mind, I was too lazy to read the reviews before me, so I'm probably repeating everything everyone else has said.
The Eye- The first thing I noticed was the eye. The thing about eyes is that they are extremely tricky things to deal with. It helps a lot to just look at lots of different pictures of eyes. That's what I did. So I decided to give you a picture of an eye with 3 key points you need to note.
1. I'm not sure if there is a scientific term for this, but as you can see in the picture, the eye is not a complete almond shape--there's that little pink part attached. I'm sure you've noticed before. Drawing this is difficult. It took me a long time to 'master', if you will, so don't worry if it looks a little weird.
2. It's important to add the gentle crease of the eyelid just a small distance from the top of the eye. This gives the eye depth, so it doesn't look like it's just attached to the surface of the face. Make sure to shade the line well after you've added it to the picture.
3. Often, eyelashes are drawn as completely straight, upright lines. The problem with that is that no eyelashes are completely straight. As you can see in this picture, eyelashes have a distinct, delicate curve. Also take note that there are fewer, smaller lashes near the pink part that we talked about in Point One, and as we move along the top of the eye towards the outside, the lashes get much longer and more numerous. Same with the bottom lashes.
Another thing with the eye is to remember that the whites of the eye are NOT completely white. When drawing, you need to lightly shade the two opposite sides of the white of the eyes. This gives the eye that more rounded look. It's also important to shade under the eyelid on this inside of the eyes, under the eyelashes, giving the eye depth. I can see that you've done a bit of shading inside the eye, which is great. You need to focus on a little more on value, but I'll get to that in a second.
The Nose- I am thoroughly impressed with this nose. It looks fantastic... like, well, a nose. My only nitpick with it is that instead of just outlining the nose, you need to shade a bit more. I recommend investing in a shading stump if you don't already have one-- they're just a stick made of rolled up paper with two points on each side, which you use to shade with. It's great for smaller details, such as shading in the nose and eye. Her nose needs a bit more shading around the nostril, the bridge of the nose and behind the nose on the left side of her face.
The Mouth- I'm impressed with the mouth as well! You need to shade darker around the opening of the mouth though, again, for depth.
The Hair- The amazing thing about hair is that it's so complex. There's lots of different highlights and shades, even if the hair is only one color. You need to go in and add a lot more values--deep greys, even blacks. Look at the picture again. Where is the light hitting her hair? Take an eraser and rub in the highlights after you go in with all the shadows in the hair. You'll need to blend it in a little so it's not so harsh, but it will add a lot to the portrait.
And finally...
Values- Like you said yourself, you press too lightly with the pencil. This makes the drawings a one-shade thing, with no contrast, which is sort of unappealing to the eye. You need to go in and add a lot more shading, especially on the hollows of her cheek. Right now, her skin looks like it's all one level, while a real-life face has lots of bumps and ridges. Around her eyes need to be shaded darker to give drawing the appear that her eyes are a bit more sunken in, versus her cheekbones.
That's about all I have to point out. Your drawing is really very nice--you definitely have a good eye when it comes to drawing and noticing features. You just need to fine-tune this a bit more and really push yourself to notice even more. I hope my review has been helpful. If you draw something new and need a review, by all means, message me! I'd be happy to help you out further.
Have a great day! -Holly

I am not familiar with Hayley Williams so i am not the best person o critique. But I like the girl's sketch. it's simple and beautiful at the same time. Bittersweet ahs taken lot of time to explain you the improvements so hats-off to her.

Thanks for the reviews guys, I really appreciate them
Thank you especially, Bittersweet, for the detailed review. The reason I don't press hard enough with the pencil, I think, is because I'm worried that I'll do a really bad mistake, and won't be able to erase it! I'm paranoid like that... I also completely agree with you when it comes to the eyes! I really struggle to bring "life" into eyes. I really need to practice them. From now on, I'm going to keep drawing eyes until I literally turn into one!
Oh my goodness! I LOVE Paramore. and hayley is awesome. Congrats for the drawing! Love it. The shading is AMAZING and the hair looks great. You done a really good job, i can tell it's her. the lips a bit too downward, i find it's hard to draw the teeth, but maybe you could leave them out in this drawing? They're very... ermm..... they just don't look right.
Good job though,

Hi Skins. Here on request. I think I have commented on the first picture before. The second one? Its amazing. The way you've done the boys hair is so nice and the shading is also very neat and realistic. Everything is cool about this one. I don't see a problem with anything except for the lines of the neck which descending down. You can work on that and try to give it a more realistic edge to it.

I LOVE Paramore! Hayley is awesome too! I think I have seen this photo before, and this looks like and exact copy in black and white. Give or take a few touch ups on the chin. I, myself am not an artist so I can't critique your technique but being the Paramore fan I am I think I can say that this really does look like Hayley Williams! Good job and of course keep drawing. -Jem
Your motor's unstable, Your like an Undwinding Cable Car.
You definitely have potential for drawing, I liked the picture though, I think you got her hair right (: Try using color next time, so it can be more vibrant. Keep drawing ! (:

I absolutely love the hair. It's spiky and messy and shaded bery well! The eye has a great angle and shaded very well and realisticall drawn. I love the angle you drew teh entire head and how her shoulders are hunched. I love the neck and shoulders posture and this is overall realy cool and actually looks like Hayley Williams in soem ways!
Lots of , Nepo!
