Hey there! This is pretty, I love the style. The smudgy background is interesting but I wonder if you could make more of a pattern to it? Like if you shaped the smudges to be more like petals, that could look really cool.
I like the stalk and leaf. I'm not so sure about the fallen petal. I think it looks more cartoony than the rest. Too much like a heart. It's a nice concept/ idea but I'm not sure that it works.
The head of the rose is lovely. All in all an excellent drawing!
I like the smudged background, nut I think the purple smudge on the left-middle distracts me too much. It seems a tad darker than the rest of them. The fallen petal should be removed. Honestly, it looks so much better without it and right now, it looks like some not-curled-heart-shaped thing. Sorry. The flower to stalk boundary needs to be refined a bit.
Anyway, good work. Keep it up! ~Lava

Hi Mo. Okay then. This drawing is not great, let me be honest. The background idea si nice but the rose drawing could have been better. Like don't make it too long. Cut short the stick/stem a bit. and also make your rose(petals) more broad so the page doesn't look empty.

I just had a few quick notes before you set off to revise again.
I really liked this. Your background is simply lovely, like something out of antique wallpaper. Your stem is nice, and I like the fact that this is wilting. As sad as it is when flowers die, it makes for some beautiful artwork, doesn't it?
My only two problems would be with the choice of color for the rose. Black doesn't really seem to stand out, and more contrast would be good, especially since your stem is black. I say a pink or a white rose would be better for this picture.
Another thing I don't like is the petals. Try to tilt it upward so we see less of the design. Right now it doesn't look like it's actually part of the flower; more as if the stem is just cradling it.
But, this was very nice! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

I like it. It is really pretty especially because roses are hard to draw.If I were you I would make the stem a little bit shorter and add some small thorns on the stem.I would also take the leaf off the bottom of the stem. It looks like you did the background with chalk pastels. Keep drawing and writing Fiction.
Hey, Mo! First of all, I have to tell you that I absolutely love this drawing! It's very elegant looking and is graced with wonderful detail that only true artists can see. The stem and the rose are gorgeous, but I'm not so sure about the flower petal at the bottom. It seems a little out of place. Also, at the angle that which you drew it, it almost looks like it's floating there instead of lying at the bottom which I assume was your intention. So instead, you could just clear away the petal, or to make it look a little more natural, I would just make it look a little more on it's side at the bottom of the picture. It's extremely lifelike and the background is a perfect array of colors for the image of a rose. I hope you put up more drawings soon!
