Does anybody else think the serpent is due some screen-time now? I kind of pulled him into the plot now...

The serpent was kinda disabled... that's how the mutants got to the land. If you found him, he;d be either mortally wounded or dead or in a coma. not able to be of much help.
You win but then the serpent wakes up and wipes everyones memories. This would result in everyone being in the same village/colony at the start of a sequel, if we have one. And it would cause problems when everyone starts to remember. Eg; fighting, etc.
