Viper told me it would be ok, and I just about broke down.

Ok, I did break down.

My eyes started to well up, and my nose started to run, and I'm fairly sure my face got all red like it does when I cry. "I-it's just that, I m-mean. W-what if I-I c-can't?" I asked, sliding down the wall until I was sitting with my back against it. "W-what if I-I've run out of ideas? I-I haven't h-had to worry ab-bout anything l-like this since t-the last time."

The pity in his eyes killed me.

I pushed my hair away from my face, wiped my nose and eyes on my shirt, and took a deep breath. Suddenly, the wall fell away from behind me, leaving my staring up at two startled looking guys, pretty young, I might add, wearing helmets and white jumpsuits.

Amber:

I must have blacked out again after the van 'cause I woke up in a white room with Kendall and Lurie.

Groaning, I sat up and looked around. Lurie was curled up in the corner and Kendall was sitting on the bed beside me, staring at Lurie while she cried.

"What happened?" I asked, rubbing the back on my head. Kendall shook his head, eyes still on Lurie.

"I don't know," he said and turned away. "I just woke up in here about an hour ago."

"It's Zeb," Lurie said and got up. She came over to us, arms crossed over her stomach. "He found us and bought us in."

"In?" I asked and looked around again. There was a two way mirror opposite us. "Where are we?"

"Government compound, I guess," Lurie said and sat down on the only other bed.

"Oh lovely," I announced and stared at the mirror. "This is why I was running in the first place. Those damn agents were all over my home town after I burnt down my house and caused an earthquake."

"You burnt down your house?" Kendall asked, surprised. I sighed. It was going to be a long night...er day. Whatever time it was. Geez, I had already lost my inner clock.

"Yeah," I said and looked around for my bag. Damn it! I'd left it back at Johnny's place. "Hey, what time is it?"

Silence. I looked up and frowned. Lurie was sitting on her bed and Kendall had stood up and started pacing.

"Don't know," Lurie mumbled and fell silent again. Oh yay. I tried to bring my Earth up but it wouldn't react. My Fire was the same.

"Oh hell," I muttered. Both were still dormant. "We can't use our powers in here, can we?"

No one answered my question so I took the silence and the fact that neither of my powers were reacting for a yes. This was just perfect...

Okay then, I guess I'll have to come up with some way Zack gets captured...

Zack

The vans drove on and on. I floated after them, but from a distance, because I felt my consciousness breaking up when I got too near. I realized they must have had something that would rob my power from me. In my floating, molecular form, that meant I would loose the ability to restrain my particles from drifting away in different directions. That also meant that, once the vans got where ever they were going, I would have to re-solidify to break into the compound. That lowered my chances considerably.

After seemingly days, the vans pulled on to a dirt road. A short distance more and they stopped before a rocky ridge.

I saw the other Misfits being carried up to the ridge. A van blocked my view of their path. When I moved to see them, they were gone.

I smiled. A secret underground building. It made sense.

This was the tricky part. I reformed a good distance away, and began creeping towards the supposed entrance, using foliage and rocks for cover.

There were two men guarding the door. I considered this, then walked out from behind a bush, trying to look innocent. The guards reacted immediately, producing guns out of nowhere.

"Excuse, me, sirs," I said, ignoring the barrels pointed at me. "Our car died on the highway. Do you have any gas we could use?" Acting younger then I was was easy for me, given my short stature.

The guards lowered their weapons a little. "Where's your mom, kid?" one asked.

She's looking for help on the other side of the road. She says I'm ide... idar... indepi..."

"Independent," the guard helped.

"Independent enough to be on my own. But do you have any gas?"

"Sure, kid, but we need to see your mom first."

"Sure, just follow me, it isn't far."

The guards followed me, somewhat reluctantly. when we got out of range of the device blocking my powers, I disintegrated.

The guards pulled out their weapons again. "Damn! It's a Misfit!"

I entered one of the guns and made it fly far away, then did the same to the other. I reformed out of sight and ran back to the ridge while the guards were distracted.

Frantically, I felt for some sort of button. the guards had realized what I was doing and were already running back.

I finally found a switch. Pressing it, a door opened and I ran inside. The door closed behind me.

I breathed a sight of relief. Then I looked up.

A dozen more guards stood before me, each one with murder on it's face.

***

I was thrown into a white room.

Lizzie and Nick were there, watching in surprise as I was dropped in a sprawling heap on the floor.

"Shut up," I muttered, although they weren't saying anything. I didn't feel like answering the questions I knew they would ask.

Nick,

"Well, well, well. If it isn't my old buddy Zack," I say sarcastically, "How'd you get in here, then? I'd have thought that you would scarper."

He glares at me. I shrug, and turn back to Lizzie, who's in a bad state.

"Hang in there," I mutter.

"It hurts...so...much," Lizzie moans. Her powers are gone, and since they involved turning her blood into water, it's slowly and painfully changing back.

"Where are the others?" says Zack abruptly.

"No idea," I say coldly, "Do you really care?"

Immediately, I feel sorry for saying it.

"I'm sorry," I say miserably, "I just feel so helpless."

August,

Eventually, Keshra and I stop running. I turn around.

"Hmmm. No one's followed us," I say, "Too good to be true."

"You got that right," Keshra mutters.

"If I know them, they'll be bringing reinforcements," I say, almost to myself, "That's how it always is."

"How do you know?" Keshra says angrily.

I don't say anything.

Keshra

I gasp for breath, reinforcements huh? Wee.

I frowned, trying to think of something. Oh. Ding!

"You can go back in time right?" I said raising an eyebrow.

She nodded. "Yeah,"

I nodded. "Do you think we could stop it?"

Kendall

My head pounded and I groaned overly loudly.

I opened my eyes slowly and sat up, bunk beds...hmm.

I looked around. "Anyone there?" then winced as my head pounded.

Kendall is in with Amber and Lurie...

Amber:

I groaned and rolled over, looking towards Kendall.

"Did you just pass out again?" I asked.

He blinked at me. "Must have."

"I think I did too," I told him and sat up, rubbing my temple. Right, I thought soury. This is getting weird. I looked around for Lurie and saw her curled up on the bed next to me. "Lurie?"

"We can't use our powers in here, can we?" Amber said all annoyed.
Neither me or Kendall responded.
I hate silence, it's cold.
"We need to figure out someway to talk to the others" I said out loud.
Amber looked angry still and Kendall just shrugged. I slumped against a wall in the corner and began to rock back and foward. I put my hand on my stomach for some type of comfort but it only made it worse. I wonder what Daemyn's doing right now?
Probably still devastated at the news that I was pregnant. Suddenly I felt nauseas, quickly putting my hand on my mouth.
"Oh crap!"I yelled.
And then out came lunch.

Amber:

I stared at Lurie as she threw up.

"Sick?" I asked and she shook her head. I exchanged a startled glance with Kendall.

"Pregnant," he mouthed.

"Oh," I said and turned away. That's got to be rough on someone, I thought angrily. Especially in this kind of situation. "Do you think this is bad?" I asked.

Lurie moved to another corner and Kendall gave me a sharp look.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"I mean if Lurie is....well, yeah," I said slowly. "Don't you think they'd come in and drag her off or something?"

Daemyn

I was silent as the guards took me, Fee, and Viper and put handcuffs on us and covers over our eyes before leading us out of the room. After walking for a bit, I heard a door open, and felt sunshine, warm and clear, on my face. I could smell the desert, the dirt and the plants. I couldn't help but smile a little. Those fluorescent lights inside were getting on my nerves.

They pulled the blindfold off of me and went to sit in a corner of the fenced off area we were in. It was chain link, nothing fancy, but it had barbed wire at the top of all ten feet of it, and I'm fairly sure there was something else we couldn't see. Maybe guns pointed at us from the top of the tower over there. I sighed, looking around the area once more.

There seemed to be some sort of obstacle course set up, complete with a wall to climb over and things to crawl under. The door opened again, and three more guard came out, holding Amber, Kendall, and Lurie. At the sight of her my stomach clenched and I looked away. I walked over to Viper.

"Hey," he hissed, looking somewhat happy, probably from the sun. I nodded in response, still very determined to NOT look at Alura. I sighed, fidgeted a bit, looked over at Lurie again, and tried very hard not to run to her and hold her. Her eyes were red and dark circles lay beneath them. Her hair was messed up and her face was pale and gray. She was very obviously not happy. But the reason why she was so unhappy stopped me again from running to her. She was pregnant. I mean, like, with a baby! This was going to drive me insane until I talked to someone. Just then Nick and Zach and Lizzie came out. The moment Nick's blindfold was taken off I made eye contact with him, motioning my head for him to join me over by the wall. He looked around, nodded, and started walking towards me.

Amber:

Lurie, Kendall and I were blindfolded and handcuffed and then taken out to some sort of a yard. I frowned as the blindfold and handcuffs were removed. What was this? We were in a yard of some kind. A chain link fence kept us in and the sun was shining. I smiled as my powers stirred....But they still wouldn't come much higher then dormant. I sighed sadly and rubbed my wrists.

I shrugged and looked towards Lurie. She looked like hell... I saw Nick and Daemyn go off on their own. Well, that could be interesting...

I gave Kendall a meaningful look-one that said to not leave Lurie alone. Then I headed for Nick and Daemyn, who were now talking on the far side of the yard.

They pulled the blindfold off my eyes and removed the handcuffs from my hand. I looked around finding all of us misfits trapped in a yard. Amber had walked away and now it was just me and Kendall sitting against a rock.
"Do you see Fee anywhere?" I asked Kendall
"No but I'm sure she's around here somewhere"
I sighed.
I didn't want to ask about Daemyn I figured we needed some time alone.
I looked at my belly. I wonder if it's going to be a boy or a girl? I thought.
Who am I kidding it's going to be a boy, and I think I will call him Daemyn Jr.
I giggled, but then began to feel sick so I stopped.

Nick,

I notice Daemyn giving me a look, so, much as it pains me, I go over to him.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Well..." Daemyn seems at a loss for words, "Lurie is...she's..."

"Yes?" I say, suddenly worried.

He takes a deep breath, "She's pregnant."

I stare at him, "She's what?"

He glares at me, "You heard me, Nick."

I continue to stare, when Amber comes up to us, making me start.

Amber:

"Hi Nick," I said making him jump. "Did you see Lurie?" I directed this to Daemyn, who nodded.

"Wait," he said, staring at me. "You know?"

I sighed. "Kind of hard not to when I"m stuck in the same room as her."

Nick and Daemyn exchanged a glance. I rolled my eyes at them. Would they just talk like normal and forget about the freak guards standing watch over our every move?

"Anyway," I said and leaned in close. "I don't think keeping Lurie locked up like this is good for her," I whispered. "Especially in her current state..."

Daemyn started fidgeting. I frowned as I watched him. Nick just sighed and shook his head at me. I shrugged and sat down right where I was.

Nick,

Lurie. Pregnant? I keep on shaking my head, unable to grasp this concept. Eventually, I decide that I'll just have to deal.

"So what do we do?" I ask Amber and Daemyn, "We can't have these freaky government creeps doing experiments on her while she's got a kid."

"Exactly," says Amber exasperatedly, "That's what I've been trying to point out."
