Pillowcase Dog

i went to your house last night
and i met your dog
i was lying on top of him, for quiet time

until he fell out of his pillowcase

i never did know, a dog could be
square
so flat
so much like a pillow. you were lying on it with me.
how could you keep your dog in your pillow?

the dog hated me

it wanted to eat me. but the animal police
took him away

"dogs shouldn't be kept in pillowcases" said the animal officer

thats when i realized i was in love with you.

you never looked like someone i knew.

i can still see the dog's face, and feet
and nothing in between.

When I first read this, I thought that you meant you loved the girl because she abused animals! XD

With that said, interesting idea. I love the title. I just think the conclusion could be better...

It is very rare for me to post this statement, but:

I don't get it.

You mean I get it and no one else does? How rare!

Okay, I'm sure I'm spoiling it for everyone but...

These lines tell it all:

thats when i realized i was in love with you.

you never looked like someone i knew.

i can still see the dog's face, and feet
and nothing in between.

When the narrator of the poem first talks, it is about a dog that the narrator thought was a pillow. Boy, was that person surprised when s/he found out the truth!

Finally, it ends with the narrator realizing that the love that he just thought was a friendship, was not just a fake thing (think pillow) but alive (think dog) and real as well.

Very analytical Snoink!

Great poem! Thought it was hilarious, and I like the symbolism here as well.
If knowledge can create problems, it is not through ignorance that we can solve them.

Snoik, i like how technical you explained my poem. But i'm from BC, and man it totally wasn't as exact like that. Ieatworms, i'm almost glad you didn't understand, as selfish as it seems. It adds a sense of mystery to the poem. Thanks for the comments peoples!

how rude of the animal patrol to just barge in on him and the dog and the girl. How very very rude, I should slap him for that :P
Funny to read and all of that, good job.

That smells like the inside of a tropical rainforest.
