Every year, Writer's Digest selects the best 101 websites for writers. I took a look at these websites, and YWS is definitely better than some of them. One of them hasn't even had anything changed on it, or posts added, for three months.

So I would like very much for YWS to be on the 2006 list. But I need help in getting the site noticed. All we got to do is send an e-mail to writersdig@fwpubs.com with 101 sites in the subject line, then explain why YWS should be on the best websites list. If you decide to send an e-mail, remember to include the sites title and the web address! Even if we get only ten e-mails sent in, it'll go a long way in getting that prize.

So, to put it briefly:
Email writersdig@fwpubs.com
101 sites in subject line
Explain why YWS should be one of the 101 best sites for writers

Done and done. I hope they don't think I'm too long-winded, but they're just so much good to say about this site.

Done, I hope they don't think I'm just making up nice things about YWS, because I'm not!
Heheh, and YWS definetly deserves to be in the 101 best sites. :D

I did.

It'd be great to read about YWS in Writer's Digest.

If one of us could write and convince some gigantic publisher to put us in the publicity would be huge... in general a good thing but to me... overcrowding and I am pretty sure when the time comes, more kicking people off and more moderators.

But, I'd love to send an email, tis worth a shot.

Thanks all!

I'm no longer all that concerned about the place becoming overcrowded. I've checked out a lot of other writing sites over the past year, and there's quite a few that have a similiar setup to YWS, but 25,000 members, and those sites really don't seem crowded at all.

But, just in case, I'm trying to encourage people to use the usergroups more. There aren't many new ones created anymore, but I'm working on a couple ways to fix that. I'm also trying to beef up participation in the VIP Lounge area.
