Have you ever heard a song sung and the voice just made your toes curl? Well I have. These are the voices that curl my toes. What curl yours?

Colm Wilkenson (Jean valJean/ Les Miserable)
Cliff Richards (Raoul/ Phantom of the Opera)
Hyde (J-pop)
Kristen Chenowith ( Sally Brown, Galinda/ You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Wicked)
Maria Callas (what hasn't she done? La Tosca/ Tosca)

I forget anyone? (A.O. Avalon, help me out darling . . . )
Sing lustily and with a good courage. Beware of singing as if you were half dead, or half asleep; but lift up your voice with strength.

I don't know about singing -

But I absolutely adore this song by Embrace - Ashes.

And the Smiths - There is a Light That Never Goes Out

LISTEN TO THEM.

Michael Crawford. The original Phantom of the Opera. *dies*

I'm so obsessed with him.. His voice sends chills down my spine everytime I hear it.. I'm listening to him right now.. of course, I have a chipmunk filter on, so it sounds hilarious.. :P

WHY didn't he play the Phantom in the movie?? Grar..

The film was cast by a) Andrew Lloyed Webber and b) Joel Shumacher. Mr. Webber's only requirement was all the actors (save Carlotta) were able to sing their own parts. Mr. Shumacher's only requirements were YOUNG and SEXY. That's why our dear Michael Crawford wasn't able to play the Phantom AND why Sarah Brightman was not Christine (which was WRONG! I hated that Christine. Emmy something. ICK.)

*sigh*

I hear (and read) in colour (odd, but true), so I get a bit of special pleasure from it that not many listeners can. OOOOH voices....

Yup yup! We were studying F. Scott my sophmore year and my teacher started to explain how he was synysthetic, and what that meant. I couldn't help thinking it sounded exactly like how I saw the world . . .

I just get cooler and cooler every day, huh?

Lol, it's ok! Whenever I see people marching in a movie, I'm ALWAYS looking to see if they're on the right step, if they're all in step, if they're balanced, etc. Gah.

Yay! Go synesthetes! :D

While this phantom IS nice to look at ;), THE PHANTOM IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE YOUNG AND SEXY! Grar. His voice is supposed to be the reason Christine falls under his spell.. and his voice could NEVER compare with the brilliant MC's. Of course, nothing ever could.. *growls at ALW*
