I'm generally a very optimistic person, so in high, high hopes, I've created a thread for my drawings...of which there are many. You guys may or may not be interested, but that's fine with me.

For now...

This one has been enhanced for color, but only slightly. :smt005

Image
Yes, I know a real alligator is not this long, but no real alligators exist in my mind anyways.

Image
The above three are all themed around a single technique I'd like to explore a little more. Thing is, I paint a bold or bright color with acrylic paint, and then do my work over it with felt tip pens; numerous colors. What do you think?
Image
This was a thing I did for fun. I have some better ones, but just focus on the interlocking properties of the letters.
Image
I saw this as an avvie on YWS and decided to make good use of it. Of course, the avvie was just words and a hand holding a quill, so I...hyped it up with a little blood.

Hi Jenthura!

My favourite one is the alligator. It's awesome, hehe. What kind of colours did you use to draw it? I like the colouring in the snake above as well, but it's bending a bit unrealistically in my opinion. The curves are too square, somehow.

I really like the little drawing separately; together against the teal background they look a bit jammed. But the technique is very nice. I especially like the red city-like thing in the middle.

The nut, or whatever you call it, looks a little bit like you finished it in a hurry. It doesn't look as carefully detailed as the other ones. I just realised it says "Life".

The last picture is quite funny, I like that. The hand looks like the thumb is as long or longer than the other fingers, so it looks slightly messed up. Otherwise, it's fine.

I like your style!

Hi Jenthura!

Once again, I admire your style and technique. They're really good! I shall be watching this thread.
I liked all of 'em but the snake struck me off as a little child-ish in the sense of drawing. The alligator is way awesome though.
The only problem with the alligator is that its tail curves off too skinny and dragon-like. I think it should have a little bit of flesh and rigidity.

On the houses: nice style. As Demeh said, the one in the center is the best. The vase and the pencil with the flower on the left are very distracting. It doesn't look good as compared to the others.

Life: I love creating interlocking words. Good job with this. I think you need to focus on getting the shape of the better and more snug with the letters. Currently, it looks like a compressed but.

The pen: I think the palm needs a little shading to bring about slight sense of depth.

Anyway, awesome stuff.
Keep drawing!
Cheers,
~Lava

I wont think the the snake as well as the alligator are creations anachronic with your age.Although i might want to add that the pattern on the snake is compromised by the sudden contrast of polka dots.
The striking randomness of houses is a good form of art.it is nicely done.some finishing is required.
The acorn is what i liked the most.A completely original idea as well as good representation of the word life. Letter 'e' is creating imbalance.
In the next picture increasing font size, the hand are the good features. If you stab an ink pen, it will create a splatter as well as a pool of the ink/blood.the book could have been done more artistically.

Thanx for the reviews, guys!
 Demeter, I agree that the nut wasn't so good, but I plan to do a better one of it some time later; this was just a draft.
 Lava, I tried to shade the hand, really I did. But it didn't work out so wel, so I opted for plain white; a flat area. It'd prolly be better, but I can't get my shading just right. The vase, flower and weird person thing don't belong, but I had to scan the whole paper :smt005 .
 Viggo, The houses weren't intentionally randomly placed; they were right where my brush decided it wanted to go. Good call on the font size increase, that was unintentional, but does add a little bit to the picture.

Hello, I am AspiringAuthorA..M. also known as A.A.M. and many other names.

I didn't find much that captured my interest in the first two drawings. However, your third was quite intriguing. The detail on the floating buildings is decent in an abstract kind of way. And the fact that they are floating in empty space gives it a bizarre ambiance. Very neat, I could look at them for an extend period time and just think about random insane ideas.

I also like your last drawing. Very nice. Killing off characters in books is fun, no?

Hey there Jenthura!

Got'a love the experimental and dreamy kind of feel I'm getting from your first two. Its fun art and it shows creativity, obviously not the best thing feature wise, but its beautiful anyway because we have an idea of your creative mind! Mwahaha. They were fab.

I think the third one, that's kind of a montage was acceptional. I'd carry on with this. I like the idea of thoughts being thrown about and almost chucked onto the paper and its all vividly enhance by the bright acrylic. Its not only creative, but its drawing and captivating. I enjoyed the originality of this. As well as an implied portrayal of mind. What I would suggest, improvement wise, is that you throw in more imagery. Make it a little more 'messy' and give us a punch of creativity, kind of more of a collage, if you know what I mean?

The nut was interesting and again shows creativity. However, I'd have to agree with Dems. It looks unfinished. Not only this, but its not particularly captivating either and the viewer doesn't feel that draw in to look close enough and realise that its a creative play on letters. It lacks feature. This is easily improved with some installment of colour, or heavy handed shading to bring the life out of it.

The last picture is humourus. Obviously some hand features could do with a little more practice and the fountain pen with a little better finishing, but its fun.

Keep up the good work,
& hope this helps.
Ben

Thanks so much for the reviews, guys! I've been working on the 'Life in a Nutshell' piece for a little while, but still haven't come up with a good piece.
However, until that time, I've got a few more...

Image
A mythical creature I came up with. Obviously, elves use them as pack animals and ride them into battle

Image
I had two red pens. One was running low on ink and had a lighter color, so I used it for the bubbles in the bottle.

Image
Poor cloud 8.

Image
Nothing special, I do a lot of these gunswords.

Image
Ugh, I do these all the time. It's like an obsession or something. :?

Image
This one was a different picture, but then I changed it around on my computer. Looks kinda cool.

Image
Ever been abducted by aliens?

Image
I was so fed up with animes, I did this mock-up of an anatomical dissection, or something like it.

So tell me what you think. Please keep in mind that none of the pictures have anything whatsoever to do with each other. Sorry, no themes here, not that kind of person.

Thanks, it was originally a lop-sided, non-symmetrical tower, but I added a ripple effect to it and came up with that.

Alright, another batch of drawings, but this time I'm only doing a few... just kidding, here they come.

Image
This house (and the three pics below) was designed around the central theme of vibrant colors. Obviously, the house won out.

Image
You know the song Summer Teeth by Wilco?

Image
This is the Kalado I did (up there) but with added red ink.

Image
Between the plain, red or sepia, I couldn't figure out which one I liked best. Help?

Image
You know the Golden Army Warriors in Hellboy 2? Yeah...

These guys are vastly different, but they were all cranked out about the same time.

This one's kinda big, click the image to see it. It's a fanfic drawing of a robot for a story by Sara King (kingfiction.com)

The second set is my favorite. Graffiti has always captured my attention, despite what it may be about. I also want to congratulate you on your work:

1. The details are fabulous.
2. The perspective is interesting.
3. The color choices are captivating and very unique.
4. The work is totally you - original, fun, and unduplicatable.

I'll be looking for more of your works!

Hi guys, I've noticed fewer and fewer comments, but maybe that's just me. XD

Image
I do like, a million of these a day, so it was only logical for me to round them up and put them together.

Image
This was a pencil tracing (I took apart a picture frame and used a flashlight to trace) but I only traced the important lines. Shading and other things happened without the original picture.

Hey there Jenthura!

These are so awesome! I wish I could draw as good as you!

I especially love the colours, what medium do you use in those bright ones?

It looks a bit like you need to take more plain paper with you, because I'm guessing you don't plan a lot of your work, and that's how they end up on lined paper?

Great work, I love the originality of these! :D

Mo. was here. :) mwahahaha
