Boarding School: The good years

As many people know the last two storybooks were very successful. But we grew so large that we had only half the people we started with, and one even died. Now I want to start over, hopefully with all of the original members, and some new ones. So right now I'm going to put down all of the information we created in the original storybook.

This storybook is about the joys of being a teenager. All of the characters will be students in a boarding school in Maine that hosts grades six through twelve. The school is right outside of a medium sized town in the mountains. There are some chains (Walmart, MacDonalds etc.) but it is mostly small town businesses (diners and such).

The school itself has four five story co-ed dorms (building 1, 2, 3, 4) in one section and then a collection of three buildings where classes are held. The dorms are five stories tall and have 40 rooms to a floor. A typical room has only ONE GENDER in it (but the building may host both boys and girls). Each individual room has a living room a kitchen, a small bathroom, and two or three bedrooms. Food is generally made by the students (money is either provided by the school or the parents) but there is also a cafeteria. Most students tend to eat breakfast and dinner at home, and lunch in the cafeteria.

I would like all of the characters to stay in the town or the school except on holidays, when they are allowed to leave. The story starts out a week before school starts, when everyone is either arriving for their first time or returning from their summer vacation.

RULES

- No perfect characters, they don't exist in real life, they don't exist here.
- There can be relationships, but no sex scenes.
- There will be consequences for anything you do as in real life(robbing a store etc.)
- I'm giving you mostly free reign here. You can do mostly whatever you like, but it is Pg-13. NO sex scenes, No explicit descriptions of drug use, etc. use your judgement. If you break any of these rules you will be kicked off of the story.
- Follow all rules previously set by YWS
- All posts must be more than one sentence.
- If you are inactive for an unreasonable amount of time, without alerting anyone, your character will either be removed, or handed over to another writer.

Name: Matrim "Matt" Cauthon

-Hair: Black. He keeps it pretty short, and its naturally messy from a general lack of care.

-Eyes: His eyes are a light brown almost amber color.

-Other: He has a small cut on his left eyebrow, but its not very noticeable. He is missing part of his ring finger on his right hand.

Style of Dress: He generally wears black pants (or some other dark color) that are almost skinny jeans, but not quite. He tends to wear a simple shirt, and maybe a jacket over that if its a cold day.

Personality: He has a photographic memory, and that has influenced his attitude a lot. He tends to be almost lazy when it comes to school work, and he might seem to have an almost arrogant attitude, but its simply that its so easy for him that he gets bored (probably has ADD too). He has a fairly quick tongue and is good with words, however he doesn't talk much. He is also ambidextrous, which taught him to be adaptable. Because of his history he never really has a plan, he sort of goes with what his morals say is best, and hopes it drops him in the right place, and if it isn't going to, he adjusts.

-Weaknesses and Flaws: Chronically lazy and detached. He doesn't have much of an attention span, and besides music, and soccer he doesn't find much to be 'great' in life, but he is still a pretty happy person.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: Soccer, music, and writing (both songs and stories). He spends his off time learning instruments, and has picked up guitar (his favorite) and piano. He knows a little violin and some accordion, but he doesn't play often.

-Dislikes: Quite a bit of things, but I wont list them all here.

History: Dad was a professional martial artist (MMA) and his mom was a fashion model, so he never lacked for money. However, he was left alone a lot. Because of that he taught himself a lot of interesting skills, most inspired in the vein of Jason Bourne. He was sent to a school in california in ninth grade because his parents felt the change of scenery would do him good, but it didn't help. Now he comes here. It's his first year. When he was seven he was in a car crash and he lost his right ring finger from the middle joint up. He was right handed so he had to teach himself how to use his left handed.

Family/Friends/Pets: Pet huskey that he simply calls 'dog'

Other: He is/will be the captain of the soccer team and is pretty athletic. He also is a very fast driver, and tends to use driving as a method to calm down if something is bothering him (which is slightly ironic).

style: She generally dress long sleeveless clothes and likes clothes that do not show her figure. She also has a liken to sleeveless clothes but only wears them when exercising.

Personality: she is competent. She hates to feel vulnerable or even look like one. She hates to be beaten by boys and is able to stand mocking from people. She dislike following a common thread and hates to be associated as a typical girl. Maya is sarcastic in nature. She finds hard to trust people and loves to lead people rather than to be lead.

weakness: Children. She has a hidden love for children because it reminds her of her childhood self. Whenever she sees one, she lost her fearful look and can stare at them for a long time. But from that, she is a hard person to agree and this can lead her to be aloof and hard to communicate with others.

likes: children, forest, her hair, her reputation and daydreaming (she can spend two hours by doing so). She also spends her time writing various ideas and schemes to plot future works. she likes baseball, and making people fear her.

dislikes: board games, spoiled rich girls, the common thread people follow. The scar on her face. Not able to make a person fear her.

history: Maya is the older of the two children. When she was young, she has a love for her younger brother and spends times with him. But when she was eight, she had an accident by falling off a cliff. Though she survive, it gave her two large scars. She was ridiculed at school especially girls in which she responded by being tough.She started by playing pranks against girls and beating up a notorious school bully to protect her brother.

Physical Appearance: She is a normal height and skinny, but not like a rail. May's hair (its unnatural she dyes it) is a dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. She had braces but had them taken off early because she "looked like a hippo with a grill" and her teeth are slightly straght yet crooked at the same time. She smiles in the weirdest of situations, which is mostly all the time.

Style of Dress: May dresses however she feels but mostly in clothes that she can move in.



Personality: She loves to laugh and have a great time but is quiet sometimes. Happy and cheerful most of the time but the girl sometimes remains a mystery to most. She has the attention span of a Nat and sometimes gets on peoples nerves because of it. Because of her ADD like nature she has picked up many, different, hobbies. One including parkour, which she got bored of because other people were too slow to keep up and the teacher always yelled at her when she beat him.

-Weaknesses and Flaws: Her mother is a nut.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: Mostly everything because she gets bored easily but she is skilled at parkour and dancing.

-Dislikes: People who hurt other living things for fun, liars and mean people in general.



History: Her Brother recently died in a car crash with his girlfriend and her parents are never home, making it easy for Kureno to get bored. Her father is the heir to a "Wine legacy" direct from italy, which explains all of his buisness trips and her mother has gone a little it crazy after the death of her brother. Her family is not just in the wine buisness

Style of Dress: She dresses pretty casually for school and work. When she goes out she prefers to use dresses/skirts. She is very fashionable and always tries to look impeccable all day long.


Personality: Super-friendly. Very hones, sometimes she doesn't even take conscious on what she thinks. Blunt, super absent-minded, very maquiavelic when needed. She is also a bit of a perv.

-Weaknesses and Flaws: Blunt, absent-minded. She scared of closed spaces. She fears that her father gets killed and has phobia to ant.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: Reading, designing, painting - anything that creative and involves hand-crafting. he is a promising fashion designer. She creates most of her outfits.

History: Mother died when she was 5 years-old, her father raised her perfectly and she loves them. To years ago, they move and now she's at the Boarding School. Style of Dress: Jeans are her choice of bottoms, her shirts are fashionable, but not flashy. She favors longs necklaces, and only eye make-up. She wears converse or whatever else matches what she is wearing that day.

Personality: She is fun-loving. She's kind to everyone she meets, unless she has a reason not to like you. She seeks adventure, but her fear sometimes holds her back. She laughs at about everything, and tries her hardest to be part of the group.

-Weaknesses and Flaws: She doesn't have alot of confidence in herself. Her father has always put pressure on her to do well and so she tries her hardest to please him, but never got any praise. She feels almost as if she's not good enough. She has a fear of letting everyone down, and she frequently cries or has breakdowns over this.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: Reading, acting, musicals, Paramore (punk rock or alternative music).

-Dislikes: Country music, athletics.

History: She comes from the typical middle class family. They live well enough, but they don't splurge on trinkets or trips that often. She has had good grades because it's a rule in her house. She is very mature for her age, but she still has her immature moments. Most of her friends have been guys, because she can't handle the gossip and drama that comes with girls.

Personality: She's a member of the school popular crew. But she is the only nice one in there. She can be really sweet and funny, or a bitch when she wants to be. One of the prettiest girls in the school.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: Plays piano, guitar and can sing well.

-Dislikes: Fire, the color purple and muffins.

History: born in Italy and raised there. She was taught five languages and is fluent in Italian, french, English, Latin and Spanish.

Family/Friends: The popular crowd is her main group of friends, though she has many outside of that one group. Both her parents died in a fire. She has been raised by an older brother, named Mark, whom she absolutely adores.

-Other: has an industrial piercing (those bars people get through the upper parts of their ear) in her right ear.

Style of Dress: Rarely dresses how the picture shows, but it isn’t unheard of. Usually is rather eclectic in her style. Give her clothing that fits and she’ll wear it. Somehow, she always seems to look good in whatever she puts on. EDIT: additionally, she wears wire-rimed glasses with the lenses pushed out. She doesn't need them for any reason (hence the lenses being gone) but likes the way they feel.

Personality: Riley is a bit of an oddball. She goes out of her way a lot of the time to do things, and does things in ways normal people wouldn’t do. She is laid back and doesn’t stress over things. Riley has the ability to get along with anyone and everyone despite her eccentric-ness. She has an infectious laugh.

-Weaknesses and Flaws: She’s not always the best student. Riley would rather spend her time doing anything but studying and her grades tend to reflect it, though she has tried to get a rein on that recently. She sleepwalks and has a tendency to butt into other people’s conversations and evesdrop.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: Playing the violin, which she is quite talented at, climbing trees, stars, music, dancing, the color yellow, and for some reason prefers to hang upside down. She will hand upside down from anything that will hold her, and will stand on her head as well.

-Dislikes: unreasonable people, people without common sense, intolerant people, the color yellow (yes, I know I also mentioned she likes this), plums, and garage sales.

History: Riley has lived a generally normal life. Her parents are loving and normal, she has three older siblings and two younger ones. She has lived in Maine all her life and is only starting at boarding school this year because her father thought she could use a constructive environment to knock this strangeness out of her. She failed a grade somewhere along the way which is why she is a bit old for her grade, but she doesn’t talk about it or let it bother her.

Family/Friends/Pets: Father, Mother, 3 older sisters, two younger brothers (twins). Had a few dogs but left them at home.

Style of Dress: Ben dresses as simply and as casually as possible, generally going no more formal than jeans and a t-shirt.

Personality: Ben tries to get along with everyone as best he can. He isn't a big talker, but he's by no means shy. He's also something of a thrill-seeker, and likes to get himself into all kinds of trouble - just as long as he can get back out of it.

-Weaknesses and Flaws: Ben is very proud, and very stubborn. Though he tries his best to get along with people, he can find himself becoming rather confrontational when he feels like he's being challenged.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: He thoroughly enjoys reading, and is an excellent tennis player. He loves any and all kinds of music, both to listen to and to play, if it has a piano part, but he has a particular affection for classical.

-Dislikes: Being underestimated in any way, people who believe they're better than others at everything, having his real first name used.

History: Ben's family moved to America when he was sixteen, and he's still having trouble settling in. His family are fairly normal, and he got along with all of them. He was sent to the boarding school because his parents believed it would help him to settle in better, as it would force him to meet a whole lot of new people.

Personality: Humble and distant. Antoine isn't the most out going person and enjoys his alone time, but he values friends and likes to hang out.

-Likes/Interests/Skills: Likes classical, jazz, and rock music. He can play almost any brass instrument and the piano. He also enjoys any kind of poker. Is a decent cook.
-Dislikes: Large crowds, rap/hip-hop music, and fast food.

History: Antoine lived a fairly normal life up until a year ago when his mother, father, and two younger sisters were murdered in front of him. The murderer left him alive for the only reason that he loved the expression on his face. Because his closest relatives live in Main he recently moved schools. The incident has left Antoine with severe depression for which he take medication for every day.

Family/Friends/Pets: Has an uncle who lives in town. All immediate family is dead.

I walked through the hallway in the school, sorounded by my friends. I was glad to be back at school, spring vacation had seemed too long.

Ben walked up to me me, "So, how was your spring break?"

"Good, I got to go back to Italy." I said. He knew I loved Italy. Though he wasn't really popular, we were wstill great friends.

"Thats nice." He said. My friends walked off. They always had a thing with leaving me alone when I was talking to any guy, even a long time friend.

"And where did you go?" I asked him.

"Australia."

"Again?" I asked.

"Yup. And, by the way, I heard there is a motorcycle show in town. We can sneak out and see it later." I isighed and rolled my eyes, but he knew on the inside I was a sucker for motorcycles.

"Okay, we will go." I said.
