You should probably give a link to the old thread so newcomers will be able to see the rules in their entirety. It'll save them time so they don't have to go fishing through the archives looking for it themselves.

(Well, we've waited about a week for people to join. Maybe we should just start now. We've already got four people, and in my experience storybooks can be pulled off with only two or three. I'm guessing you want to wait for more people to join, right Stori? Well, I've been writing in storybooks for around two or three years before I joined The Double-Trouble Writing Huddle. In my experience, people are more likely to join an active storybook than one that's constantly moved to the second page of the forum.

So what do you say? Let's get this story started. :D )

(See what I mean? Once I posted something the storybook went back to the top of the list in the forum and someone saw it and joined. :D If we just start the story, more people will notice its activity and join as well.

Thanks for joining, Elinor.)

Ama

I trotted about the rest of the cats, looking for that blasted flyer-above-the-ground called Talon who allways disapeared whenever I needed him. I had found a new died-because-of-their-own-stupidity artifact and I wanted his examination on it.

I finally found him in the-place-where-squirlls-run-to-hide. I called up to him.

"I found something."

"Oh, goody. What is it this time?" I dropped it from out of my mouth. It was a replica of a human, but she was thinner and made of a strage material. I think the humans called it plastic.

Talon picked it up. "Hmm, this looks like another one of those things little female humans worship when there minds are idle. They hold them and talk to them, and belive them to be alive. Silly humans!" Talon said. Silly huamns indeed.

"You can have it." I said. Talon grinned then flew to put it with the many other things he collected. I ran back to the cats to find out what was for dinner tonight. Boy was I hungry.

Teo:

"Sniff, sniff..." My nose wrinkled. What was that smell?

"What's the matter, Teo?" Cika had a gleam in her eyes.
"You look like you've sniffed a ghost!"

I cuffed her playfully. "Ghosts don't have scents."

We wrestled, with her eventually gaining the upper paw.
With a bound, she got off and started grooming herself.

"I hear there's going to be a meeting tonight.
Has Bracken told you anything?"

(Just so you all know, Cika *is* up for adoption.)

Talon flew for a few minutes before arriving at a small cliff. In the side of the rocky face was a large crevasse that only a creature with wings could reach. Inside was the rest of Talon's collection. He never had to worry about someone else finding his spot and stealing anything of his, because no other animal seemed at all interested in anything that was created by the hands of humans.

He thought it was strange that he was the only one who was interested in them. Who wouldn't want to know more about the race of species that inhabited the land thousands of years before they had? Their ancient settlements were as plentiful as the trees in the forests. To think that a single species could make all that on their own, who wouldn't be fascinated with them?

Unfortunately, that same fascination was what got him kicked out of his flock. His brothers had thought it to be a waste of time and energy learning about a dead race, and when Talon refused to stop his search for knowledge, they forced him out of the group. Some brothers they were. They all hatched from the same nest and they did not hesitate to leave him behind.

Talon shook his head. He tried not to think about his past, but every so often his memories always came back to haunt him. A nice field mouse would get his mind off things. After all, he hadn't eaten in a few hours. He left the crevasse and flew off toward the plains.

Ama

I heard there was going to be a meeting tonight. Meetings were something I had just recently been alowed to begin to attend and I enjoyed the social enviorment.

"Alissa!" I called, walking up to the-cat-who-looks-like-snow.

"Yes, Ama?" She said. We got along well, she was one of the first to really trust me.

"Do you happen to know what the meeting is on tonight?" I asked.

"No idea." She said. She usually didn't. Ah, well. I tried.

"Hey, whats for dinner?" I asked.

"Duck," She said simply. My mouth watered. I loved the-birds-that-soar-on-water.

"My favorite, lets go eat!" I said enthusiasticly. She nodded in agreement, and we trotted off to eat.

(What the heck? We're still on the first page of the storybook and everyone's just going to stop writing? That's definitely got to be a record. Come on, people. Keep posting!)
