My goodness, I'm just full of imaginative names, aren't I? Lol.

I drew this for my friend for her birthday. I'm quite pleased with it, in fact :3 Used a ref (for the first time in like, forever xD) : http://www.verycutepuppies.com/wp-conte ... xsmall.jpg Truthfully, though, I kinda like my rendition better lol. Not to be conceited, or anything xD

So there's a tiny bit of shading. Outlined with Sharpie, colored with Crayola colored pencils, texture achieved by erasing in little dashes lol.

I know it's kinda big, but please try to enjoy anyway ^_^

My first reaction was: "Awww! It's a cute little fluffball! I want one!"

Only thing I can really see right now is that his left paw (your right) is a little weird looking. I think because there's not much distinction as to where his head overlaps the paw. Also the head-fur should probably blend more into the ear-fur. But that's not really a huge deal; just minor things.

I looked at the reference, and yeah, I think I like your rendition better, too. Your erasing technique worked quite well. You have a very good eye for detail, and there's so much life in his eyes!

Great job!

I still want one.

Hi Rayne!

OMG! It's so cute. This is amazing. Your technique is really good. And I do like your rendition.
Vana has already pointed out the paws. It does look slightly awkward. I think it would help if you added some dark shades to point out the difference between the head and the paw.
Also; you should try shading around the base of the snout to give it a slight projected look.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

Hello!

I love this and I'm sure that your friend did, it is really cute. As had already been mentioned, the paws are a little off, but hey I was so caught up in its cuteness that I didn't really notice! I didn't think the thing with the fur really mattered because German Shepards look like that anyway. But I guess it depends on everyones personal opinion. :P

Well Done!

Thinking about what you COULD achieve will get you no where. You've got to chase your dreams.

Awww! Rayne, these are such beautiful dogs, and you made it look so cute! My family used to have one when I was younger, and she was the sweetest dog ever (unless she didn't know you, then you had a problem! lol). I love how cute and fluffy you made him/her, and the method of coloring/shading that you used. The ears are absolutely adorable! It looks like the dog is being lazy, but listening to someone at the same time. Great job, Rayne!

Hey there Rayne!

I adore this!
I personally love how you've strengthened the image with a Sharpie it gives that impacting effect. Anyway, I'm glad you used an eraser because the texture achieved makes the features stand out and reflect a strong and realistic illustration.
My main nitpick isn't with the face, hair or ears but the paws. Compared to the rest they seem a touch rushed and perhaps if you spent a small amount of time trying to tone the shading and create a more realistic join to the rest of the figure it'll look ace!

Keep up the good work!
Ben

Thanks so much you guys ^_^ I love GSDs too :3

I could not agree more with the paws. I know they're totally awkward, but I stared at the ref forever and couldn't seem to figure out a way to fix them O_O Maybe I just suck like that xD

Thanks so much for the input and comments! You guys are so sweet n_n

Omg I absolutely love this drawing! It is sooo cute!!! I am rubbish at drawing animals but this is amazing! It looks a little cartoony because of the colours, but that's why I like it! You've used the right colours and there's nothing really for me to tell you to improve on! Your version looks better than the actual picture!

Well done! Keep it up!

Oh my gosh! I love this picture! It's so beautiful and I love the brightness of the eyes of the puppy... something is going in his mind, definitely! And it wasn't quite like the picture, but still! Fantastic!

Now, this wasn't in the picture you were drawing this from either, but the lack of tail is kind of weird-looking. So I would totally add a feathery looking tail.

Still! Fabulous work! :D

Maybe it's because of the angle of the head, but for some reason it's chin looks a bit squished to me. The cheeks also look a bit lopsided. At the same time, I really really like the way the fur looks--it's very realistic. I like the ears too--they're really cute--however, I think they might look better if they were a little more furry. Right now it's almost like you just drew another line inside them and colored it a different color.

Ooh-- one other thing I thought I'd point out--for some reason, the fur on the face seems to be blending in with the legs. Maybe if you made the legs a bit darker, the face would come forward a bit more. (<--does that make sense)

Ok, that's all I can think of. This is very cute. :)

See you around!

Awww! How cute is this!

This is very well done! I love the sad-face of the puppy coupled with the mischievous look in it's eyes. It's so cute!

I would just add a bit of shading on the front paws, because they kind of mesh into the face, and it's like... where's the separation? Other than that, this is entirely adorable. You should frame it and hang it up somewhere. :D
